Top 5 Worst Types of People to RP with?

6-7/10. had some weird parts, but overall enjoyable to watch for just the fun of it. Nice fanservice and neat

7/10 is a fair rating imo. Enjoyable, good, but nothing that’ll stick with me for years to come.

The orcs and spells looked amazing.

Also young Khadgar.

Lily Orchard did an excellent video on the subject about how Warcraft works because it has a goofy look and tone to it and is usually schlocky action (Metzen was very good at this), so when it occasionally asks you to take it seriously like at the Broken Shore you’re perfectly willing to do so.

As soon as you put “sometimes the hand of fate must be forced” in the hands of some white guy with cgi horns you lose that willingness

I enjoyed the movie. I give it a 7/10, but it should’ve been fully animated.

The golem/infernal looked kinda jank though but other than that the animation was ten outta ten

I disliked the whole Lothar/Garona/Son stuff and pretty much all the human bits of the movie. The Orcs looked excellent but it was jarring to have them alongside the non-CGI actors who didn’t look right.

I really liked how Magni looked when we saw him super briefly.

Had they seperated the film into two parts akin to Flag of our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, it could have performed better with more focus on each side of the conflict

But it had required a greater and more expensive undertaking to deliever the entire genre

But where the movie was excellent, was in the portrayel of the Orcish Culture. For that alone 7.5/10

Oddly I was fine with that departure from the established style. Now demonic Medivh? That was the one I thought was just… odd looking. Like an Illidan with obsidian glass stuffed into his shoulders.

The humans in the movie I could overlook but… I felt they tried to tell too many things in the movie at once, and thus ended up falling short on all. It didn’t really tell us why Medivh got corrupted etc.

I too am a Lilly Orchard enthusiast and can confirm that this video was very good + accurate

It’s a bit sad but I’d give it a 4/10, or 5/10.

-The special effects aren’t super cool, when Medivh turns into a demon I thought I was watching a b-rank Chinese movie. You can’t look at Fel without noticing how fake it is.

-Humans are boring. (Aside from Lothar) you have all this range of imbeciles (what have they done to you Antonidas) which seem to fall asleep as they talk (King Llane).

-Some bits with the orcs are actually cool, but most people who aren’t used to the game can’t even recognize them.

-Some of the narration is so stereotypical that not only you know how it will end, the ending is actually worse than what you imagined (Blackhand’s last mak’gora got 2 seconds of screentime lol).

-You can really see some people had fun while doing it: “we have to insert this thing, it’s cool!” but the script lacked quality dialogues (“from the darkness comes light”
I have a better catchphrase: MEH) and overall I think they got some of the design wrong (Atiesh isn’t made of wood)

-Some characters weren’t presented that well. Gul’dan could have been so much more. The actor doing Medivh is possibly the best human actor right there.

-Frostwolves bits actually are cool.

-Too much of the American “oooh I’m a bad boy, I dropped out of school because I’m too indipendent to learn in the best human kingdom ever” from khadgar, which is repeated several times. Lack of proper anachronistic speech “oh hey medivh, glad you arrived” “no problem BFF king my man” meh.

Loved Stormwind however.

Let me look at a Warcraft 3 cinematic with Medivh :popcorn:that’s where the juice’s at.

Wait, Varian dumping his enormous shoulderpads and anime-stabbing a giant robo was supposed to be serious?

think you understand p well that Edevane is referring to the general sense of weight and urgency throughout it.

WoW will forever be WoW, faction leaders are always gonna be stronglads who can do huge things with some ease.

Hopefully not, maybe they will have a change of heart and restrict the faction leader/important lore npc drama to novels and spare cameos, making them too busy with governing their respective kingdoms/groups to go out adventuring.

Instead, the adventurers get to do that with the leaders only giving us quests on rare occasions.

What, you mean you didn’t like it in WoD when every single zone ended up with some lore NPC killing the main boss you just finished fighting?

Oh don’t get me wrong, not a fan of the system at all. It’s getting tiring that in every fantasy setting it’s obligatory that you are BFFs with the ruler of the nation/world/etcetera.

Though, a focus on leaders is a good way to basically show what a race is getting up to, if done well.

Those people who write incredibly descriptive, incredibly long emotes/replies that take over 5 minutes to compose, while you’re just stuck there, waiting in silence.

Generally don’t have a problem with peoples way to RP IC’ly as I ain’t perfect myself, but I can get pretty annoyed if an RP:er OOCly and infront of others degrades a DM or his/her story by saying it’s “boring, stupid and I’ll AFK during the rest”. Especially during an event and if it’s based on something as trivial as bad rolls.

Once, I was in an combat-section during an event when a player did say “Watching a vid, poke me when it’s my turn” and I almost flipped at the disrespect to the DM and the honestly good story.

If you don’t like it, just leave (you can do that in a nice way!) or hold your silence, man!

GOD. sips a trembling teacup
