Get rid of the randomness in torghast (I mean traits with this), something required to build what is supposed to be end game content shouldn’t be random.
Why not just make it so people use the pantasma at the end of each lvl, like have the shop where each trait costs X amount at the end of each floor but with every trait, that way the player has full control over what they want to try out.
What do people think?
And bear in mind, I’m not saying it’s impossible to do torghast I’m saying any one can do it if they get their ilvl high enough to do the layers, but thanks to the randomness some runs are just a slog while other can leave people rolling around on the floor laughing
So far one says boring one says it’s awesome and aterlos agrees, like I would love this to be a full on discussion in hopes blizzard reads this and we might get them to make changes maybe
Like say what parts are awesome what parts you think need to be changed be active in voicing opinions
Imo the rng is a core part of the experience. You don’t get your bis build all the time, you try to make the most out of the situation and this lead to each run being slightly different in term of gameplay. As long as it’s somewhat balanced I don’t mind and actually appreciate the rng anima powers
The whole point of it was meant to be like a roguelike. Where you start a run and you get random abilities along the way and have weird and interesting builds, you die and start again, but get to try another crazy and interesting build that might help you clear the floor easier.
The problem is Blizz forgot to add the fun, crazy, and interesting builds. Also, the shop was meant to be what you said every few floors, but seems to have the most unintresting powers to pick, no blue or purps as all.
Add on top of the random affixs to the mobs or floors. Example the upper floor currently for me is a 15% increase in all mobs HP at level 5 and has random bird men spamming me every 5 secs with AoE attacks…why, what is the purpose of that, it’s boring and uninteresting
But you can still have roguelike with out the trait randomness, they could make the levels actual puzzles, diferent mechanics for enemies heck have a random boss pop in out of the blue while you are fighting some mobs, in roguelikes you don’t have roulets on what you are going to spec the dgn it self is the roguelike
Small edit, you could have an entire lvl being platforms in a rope system with traps and random enemies
No you can’t, roguelikes arent puzzle games, they are RANDOMLY generated runs, with RANDOMLY generated environments, with RANDOM power ups, in RANDOM intervals
Removing randomness from a roguelike is like removing guns from an FPS
Not sure I mean having a floor be a maze with ropes to figure out the correct path would kind of be interesting since we could be jumping into a platform with a miniboss
To be honest I didn’t notice those going trough recent treads but from the first thing alone they feel more like hate filled posts then people actually discussing what to change
