Yeah, I recognize the standards for “decent arguments” in these forums are exceptionally low, like praising a shopping cart analogy to justify mobbing and exclusivism. I’m just trying my best to make you all see a better way
I respect you for keeping a respective tone, Perroy. I have my quarrals with your cinematic universe but you’ve always been a well-spoken man.
I think Blizzard should offer free services to get people off an RP server that perhaps shouldnt be here. The issue is, however, many of them probably want to stay here and those many arent really causing any issues. Blizzard also arent doing anything to get the moved - so why dont we sit down and accept them and contend with them. Rather than unleash our goons armed with pitchforks and tar-dipped torches?
The myth of the innocent OOCer… This is a very dangerous way of thinking and I truly hope you don’t apply it in real life. Acting like these griefers are a mysterious group that we can’t possibly know where they’re coming from is deeply disturbing. This is how bad behaviour always gets excused.
Just because it’s your way, doesn’t mean it’s a better way.
To go with Zagkush’s comparison. I think it’s even more selfish, when u pretend like u’ve every right to play soccer on the golf field, and try to claim some sort of moral high ground when they angrily tell you to leave.
Yeah, no, just no.
In my 12 years Rping and 10 years being in the server this has happened to me less times than i can count on my hand, and i’ve found meeting it with hostility never, ever helps. Have you considered that perhaps you’ve got a target on you due to the rhetoric you tend to use? Fact of the matter is “OOCers = bad” shares the same argumentation as “PCU = bad” both of which are only true in very specific circumstances.
Again, good thing we arent golfers or footballers. We’re wowplayers. We just play the game different but we each pay the same to have the same opportunities and gameplay available to us and so long as the oocers, the majority of them, dont get involved with us rpers and dont cause trouble – there’s no problem what-so-ever in letting them stay, even if that stay is only temporary while Blizzard works out how to wake up.
Another hot take, from the masked altposters
Where are they spawning from?
Wich some are casual or raiders, others are roleplayers, and with many servers, some meant for the former, a few for the latter, so why must the raider roll on the roleplayer server and expect praise and respect? They sure aren’t showing any to the server’s porpuse.
Once again a poster who uses rhetoric and argueing in bad faith to devalue an opposing view rather than coming up with anything thoughtful to say, little less ad hominem, little more thought please.
I dont think they expect to be praised and respected. I just think they expect to be left to their own devices, maybe? Just like you expect not to be griefed.
You don’t want to know the answer to that.
I now shudder at the thought.
I sure hope people don’t make a bundle of every grass. Yes, any person who isn’t a bigot wouldn’t blame an entire category of people for the faults of a few.
Surely you don’t think that all Muslims are terrorists? Or that all immigrants are here to steal our jobs? I hope you don’t atleast.
They aren’t a mysterious group? They are just normal people that you find along the way. Heck, if you’ve been out there to make someone feel miserable because you haven’t seen a trp tag on his/her head, likely you’re also guilty of harassment.
Then they should have not rolled on a roleplaying server and stuck to a normal one.
Or they should not get bothered by the likes of you and everyone will be happier.
Say what you want about Zaphius. At least he posts on his face character and is consistent.
But wait, my character’s face has a mask on it!
