Hi, i’m writing this because I have noticed that you only get 1000 Trader’s Tender a month and there are items for over 5000 Trader’s Tender every month + the items you didn’t get last time. I think that Blizzard should remove the cap on Trader’s Tender and let Players farm the Trader’s Tender if they want to. There is no good reason to keep the cap. New and old returning Players are feeling like they have no chance to catch up. So my plead is that you guys/girls help me bring this issue to Blizzard.
I still have 2000 of them.
every month is mostly bad
It was never intended for us to get EVERYTHING but raising the cap with 500 should suffice.
Puny posted about this in another thread, the topic is already being discussed there.
It’s meant to be like a shop where you choose a selection of things to buy. Your mistake is thinking you can just drag everything into the basket so you can “complete” it.
“Catch up” Jesus
But there is.
If you can’t get everything and you had to skip on something; you can hang around and get more tender and then when it turns up again, you can buy it.
It’s not meant to give instant gratification - at least, not for ‘everything’. It’s a long term system.
There are 2 arguments here:
- Every month the total value of items on the Trading Post that are exclusive to the Trading Post and never have been available in the game in any other form is always stricly more than the total currency any account can gather. By simple logic this means that the Trading Post is a mathematically non-completable part of the game. If you are a collector/completionist, game over, you lost whatever you do.
- If a player, for one reason or another, does not max out their tender income during a month, they cannot recover it ever. It’s permanently lost. There is no catch-up system.
Collectors/Completionists hate both of the above, and that’s why these topics appear every month.
For me it just results in me hardly ever buying something. My brain always goes “but what if next month…” and i end up not daring to buy anything.
Result: im sitting on 12k tenders that will likely not get used or will never get below that because “what if”.
Well, you have the power to break that spiral.
Just buy something you like. It’s going to be fine.
Nope, because what if next month they suddenly put something that costs 12k? Who knows, no one knows.
Sure, it sounds farfetched, but “just buy something” is like telling someone with anxiety to just “not be anxious”.
And this is not me complaining about the TP necessarily, because i at the same time also like to tell people i have this many Tenders to make them jealous😂
That kind of thinking is just going to make you miserable.
They’ve never added anything like that before, so why would they suddenly start?
The purpose of the Trading Post is to give you something cool to buy EVERY MONTH you’re subbed - as an extra ‘thank you’. It’s not meant to have extremely expensive items that you’d have to save up for throughout multiple months.
Just buy something if you really like it.
They never suddenly added a 90$ AH mount either but well, here we are.
Completely different thing.
You cannot compare the two. The store is the store. It’s meant for selling things. So yes, any price is fair game. It’s up to the consumer to decide if they want to pay that price or not.
The trading post is a monthly reward. A little extra for staying subbed.
Completely different basic premise.
Anyway:
So you enjoy making people jealous at the cost of your own fun?
Hey, you do you. I think it’s messed up, honestly.
Ofcourse i can. Your point was that i should not expect something they havent done before.
I gave you an example of them doing exactly that.
There is no other comparison here, its purely about Blizzard doing the unexpected.
People as in, my friends. Im gonna gonna sit in Dornogal and say in Trade that i have that much ofcourse. You can think whatever you want of that, it does not affect me in the slightest.
Within the context of the trading post they have not.
Look, nevermind. If you want to keep making yourself miserable; have at it.
No skin off my back. But then don’t complain about it. It’s your choice.
Where did i complain? You are awfully quick to put words in my mouth here Tah.
I simply explained my situation, i never complained about it or said i care particularly much.
Dont go and assume things to fit your own narrative, it does not suit you and its honestly pretty weird to see you say things like that.
I am sitting on a bunch of tenders because of something i caused myself, i am very well aware of that and i am not complaining.
I’m pretty sure that Trader’s Tender and Astral Acclaim stem from the same idea.
You get some stuff for simply playing your part of the game.
Previous iteration being sub / login rewards, respectively.
WoW was always about abundant options, scarce resources, resulting in hardcore FOMO.
Consider it like the gym. You play this game to learn to let go.
That said, recurring basic rewards (like BiS gear or gold) aside, all legacy AA rewards are available if you want to get them in a later period. Could do the same with TT. Also, you can earn 55 AA daily plus 850 AA weekly (realistically, 50-80% of it), and the cosmetics are like 1500 per quarter. Granted, we’re pretty much supposed to get BiS pieces (1800), gold (450) and some more. Still very feasible.
I noticed that the supply vs demand gap is opening. Initially I could get most things, I think, but now it’s more and more.
I wonder whether it’s Blizzard thinking that they aren’t offering enough, given that players don’t buy them. But as far as I go, it’s about FOMO (and a carrot out of fracture which most players cannot resist) - Blizzard’s way of ensuring you play every day. Almost like slavery Sure, that mount is nice, not that I would use it much but still, however, it’s half the budget and then I’d rather get this sword skin for 70% of the budget (…) which I might actually use.
Some skins have a cheap and an expensive version, too, so it’s possible to play smart to some extent. Unless really wishing for a specific colour.
The important word being ‘necessarily’. Which implies you kind of are.
Alright then. I just found your reaction to my advice a bit weird and agressive, that’s all.
Let’s move on.
If thats agressive to you i dont even know what to say to you. But hey you do you.
But yes, lets move on.
