Trading Post - Tender/Costs

Hmm, I understand the issue for collectors, but I’m one of those for whom the trading post is very much a side task.

I think I’ve brought one maybe two mounts since it opened.

I think for the collectors there should be more ways to get extra tenders.

Just make it a stretch goal thing, maybe? They could start with a monthly story per month for 12 months, if they give a decent amount of development. Something similar to the Secrets of Azeroth stuff. They wouldn’t even need to be that deep or even connected to the main expansion theme.

Otherwise, just make it something that the account can passively grind over the month. Just extra grinding through old raids and dungeons or areas in the open world, maybe?

For me, its a tough one.

I sometimes see things I like but have also been in a period where I don’t want anything for a long period and so built up a reasonable pile of tender.

And I think it is this that’s driving the extra items in the TP, to try and reduce the excess amount of tender people have got stockpiled which unfortunately for the rest of us has the knock on effect of to little with too much to choose from.

Some people seem to build up an excess of tendies and then there are people like me that never have spare.

And then there are people like myself firmly in the middle that neither have the completionist “gotta have it all” drive, nor the unreasonable fear /unfounded expectation that suddenly an item that costs a year´s worth of tender that will be a must have will appear unannounced and therefore don´t spend anything ever (and probably not even on that item should it ever exist for fear of the next item being even more “must have” and more costly). Most of the players I know hover between the 500-2000 tender mark on a month to month basis, depending on what´s up.

I for example just always buy the mount(s) because I semi-actively collect those, and every so often when there´s something I really like like the diving suit I´ll pick that up as well… And I dare to postulate that most players probably use the TP in a similar fashion, get the one thing you´re collectors OCD won´t let you let slide, and maybe 1 or 2 other things.

Sure, I would love to clean house every month and always get everything… But I also don´t view not being able to do so as some personal failure nor an indicator of the system somehow not working as intended :beers:

I only buy things I like but there is always more than I can afford

honestly i hated it when we had a month with 2k tenders. because i had to do activities that i normally dont want to do.
1k tenders are fine because i automaticaply will get it over the month.
if anything just make mounts not cost more than 500 or just make them the monthly reward.

it is the mounts that every month take away all the tenders, because lets face it, most people auto buy the mounts

There are people who don’t mount collect tho

Jup. I still think we should rather get extra tender as monthly reward and be able to freely chose from the full range of offers instead of having a fix reward; what they pick as monthly reward seems arbitrary, fluctuates highly in value and will always leave a lot of ppl unhappy depending on whether it’s a mount, transmof or pet, because most ppl don’t collect all of those and even then the picks don’t necessarily fit ppl’s taste.

It really depends, i mean there is literally nobody who can afford every item per month on the vendors, not as it is currently.

With current trends and the items going up so much, then on top were getting even more of the items listed we really do need much more options for tender gen and a cap increase or better yet a full removal.

The issue i have with every few days is that i personally work 4 on 4 off 12 hr shifts and commute 52 miles perday which leaves me time to shower and eat but no wow on Workdays.

Now im pretty sure im not the only one with maxxed out days when working this is why I suggested 250 perday heck 125 perday would be swish if im honest lol.

So if its added every 2 days i will miss out on a lot more than other will per month due to schedule.

Thats why i originally suggested 250 perday, yes i will accrue less but id still have enough to get my ultra cool xmogs

But each renew there ate more items per and more expensive hence me suggesting 250 per day

I buy what I think is nice and I always ran out tenders before could get more than few what I wanted. The price is not right :dracthyr_a1:

another idea would be holding Tenders as a reward to players that play for x amount of days

like a 30 day streak rewards 500 tenders

this would keep people logging in

nah this is a daily log in bonus we already know from F2P games.
There where already times when the Monthly Trading Post activity journal whas treated as an incomming battle pass on top of the subscription.
Even now are people complaining of being irked that there are misseable tenders for not playing a month.
Blizzard also implemented the WQ big rewards lasting for three days so players are not feeling forced to Log in every day like back then from WotLK to WoD.
So we do not want to go back to players feeling forced to play for getting cosmetic rewards.

I treat it as a way to pick up some cool / unique cosmetics. A shield that might fit some set I have perhaps. A mount that isn’t just a recolour of one I have and might actually use (I got that 2 seater rocket as I didn’t have a 2 seater on my non druids). I got some of those cloaks with shoulders or hoods as those will likely fit some mog or other.
Many months I buy nothing so have over 10,000 tender still.

I like it this way. It’s a little added something that hasn’t become a chore.
Only month I failed to complete the fill the bar was september as I was away for the whole month apart from a few days. And I had not much FOMO for not completing it, though I don’t know what the reward was (didn’t want to know as I knew I won’t get it, so I choose to believe it was a brown horse that couldn’t fly and had a movement speed of 50%).

Yeah no thanks.
Don’t need more pressure to log in every single day to make sure I’m not missing something Blizzard throws behind the daily login reward.

Predatory system.

I think we’re all keen to avoid any ‘make you play’ gimmicks.

What i could afford this month zero mounts, zero mogs set, zero pets
A few single mogs items and one gun

Way way too expensive

well i personaly have 1k left from last month so im pretty gucci - gonna buy 2 and freeze 3rd :stuck_out_tongue:

Aslong they dont just put tenders in shop so you can buy it with euros or something like that cause whats the point of the whole TP then, could just put the items in game store if it comes to that. Trading post point is that we do stuff in game and then use the currency we get to buy stuff from the TP, this is common for mmos in general.

Mmos are meant to be played and do some stuff in it instead of getting it insta, thats kinda the general cornerstone of every mmo since beginning of internet. I wont bore anyone to specify what kinda grinds korean mmos used to have before wow, wow is very casual and chilled game when it comes to that and I think its good, I dont miss the other end of spectrum for grinding things and Im not young anymore but I dont want everything just given us with real money from store either. The bare minimum all can do is log in and do 1-2 wq or something like that.

No. Trading Post point is to keep you subscribed and entice you to buy Deluxe expansion editions, because you need more currency to buy all the things on the Trading Post that you want.
