I agree fully with the OP this person that has been typing with the “MVP” green has offered no counter argument you say it trivializes the collecting but if you farm solo content to get a piece of gear you still need it to drop to get that transmog what the OP is saying is you would get that look without needing to win this item. there is literally no difference in soloing the content receiving the loot and then having the tmog then what the OP is proposing besides it being in relevant time instead of 5 years down the line. As a collector I have 0 issues with this
There is no trivializing of said content. Currently, there’s three “obstacles” (in theory) to getting the raid transmog from current content:
- Being good enough to actually kill the bosses (individual merit)
- Having the RNG for the required items to drop (individual luck)
- Having the RNG to then win the dropped item (individual luck x2)
OPs’ suggestion is just to remove point 3… But the way his suggestion has been twisted is that somehow all three factors become obsolete and that it becomes a “participation”, “wellfare”, “lazy” system. Ironically, it is laziness causing people to put a bad spin on an otherwise reasonable suggestion (could possibly be implemented in various alternative ways e.g., a token-vendor system), simply because they do not want to read.
I think this suggestion even plays well into the warband idea that blizz have got going for them
I think just giving everyone the appearance of a boss loot takes allot of the reward away from actually winning that loot yes. The RNG and winning the loot part of it too is a part of the reward as well…
No matter how fancy or word wizard your being about this. Thats my opinion… It makes unlocking appearances feel allot more casual and less rewarding when loot in raids drop. But thats just me.
You dont see it becouse you dont actualy like playing mmorpg games. Game without scarecity isnt game.
I’m sorry but I spoke in basic, straight forward English. That being said, nowhere did I imply “just giving everyone the appearance of a boss”. If we are making things up (as people have done so far in this thread), then what’s the point of this whole conversation? Say whatever you want then?
The whole point of this thread and yours as well has been to reward players with the apperance of a raid drop regardless if they won the loot or not no? Just scrolling up thats basically been your aim the entire time.
I am not sure where I am supposedly getting your english wrong here? That and OP’s point at least to me seems to say pretty crystal clearly ‘‘I want to unlock the apperance of raid loot even if I didn’t win the loot’’
I have explained above why at least in my opinion i am against that.
‘‘I want to unlock the apperance of raid loot even if I didn’t win the loot’’ is strictly different from saying “giving everyone the appearance of a boss loot”. Is this a memory issue… a comprehension issue, what is it?
It’s tomato, Tomato. Honestly. Your saying the same thing but try to make it sound differently. We’re both still talking about the same tomato like xD
You’re using exaggeration to prove your point, I’m using the information at face value. It’s that simple.
Not true… From my point of view and where I am standing thats the consequences of your wish coming true and what it means to me as a player. And im allowed to voice that just as much as you guys are I hope.
From my point of view your underestimating the value and incentive new appearances have for people to actually play the game.
Same but just ignore people trying to discount opinions they don’t agree with
You are allowed to voice your opinion so long as you don’t blow things out of proportion in order back your claims up. Not once did I say this system should hand transmog out to everybody for attending. Yet, your MVP indicated that would be the case. As are you.
And no, I’m not trying to underestimate the value of transmogs. What I WOULD admit to is underestimating the value of having to compete with other players through RNG in order to get transmog items in the raid.
Okey i must be going crazy but just a few posts up you said.
Where did i get it wrong. That you didn’t say you wanted what I thought you meant then?
You want the apperances of the bosses to be unlocked to anyone who where there when the item dropped. I am confused where I get you wrong and you ‘‘Never said that’’
You said “everyone” alluding to everyone in the game. I refered to people who were able to kill the raid boss in question. We are referring to different groups of people. Still tomato, Tomato?
Yes… Definitely the same tomato… You still mean everyone in the raid who where there should win the apperance of raid loot. Regardless if they won the loot or not.
And I am still on the side that thinks that takes allot of the reward away from actually winning an item…
We’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.
Even here… Theres a clause that needs to be in place for you to even go to “obstacle” 3… As far as I know (Correct me if I’m wrong), you can’t click “Need” on items, that are not an upgrade for you, you can press “Transmog”…
This means after “Obstacle” 2, you would additionally need either:
- Noone in the Raid “Needs”
- You need to farm the tmog before gearing
or - You need to level alts to do the farming on, so you can press “Need” and enter the “Obstacle” 3, which then risks you yoinking the loot from someone whos actually in their main.
This is my point exactly… We are playing a game… To have fun, to enjoy, to “escape” from reality and make our characters look the way we want… Of course in different degrees… But time gating appearence because “Then it gives people stuff to do”, seems like a flawed acceptance of the lack of content… Again, I’m not saying give evryone every single appearence for just entering the raid (As some people for some reason understand my words to mean, by claiming they would be done in 1-2 weeks)… But remove the battle between tmog farmers and actual upgrade seeking players… Remove the need to force players into either spending time lvling alts they only use for tmog and or having to wait years to solo the content… for what?.. being able to look a certain way in a fantasy world where we are constantly imposed to “create our own lore” ?
And as many has pointed out, the system can be done in various ways… Make additional “tmog” drops, doesn’t have to be more than 1 random piece… But one that allows players to roll for tmog without having to battle people that has it as an upgrade… Tokens… whatever… But the whole “If I don’t farm this cosmetic reward on 40 alts every week, that I can go farm on 1 in 3 years, I won’t feel accomplished!!” at least for me, feels weird
I beg to differ. Not everybody, for example, in the game does the mythic version of a raid. They are simply not good enough and would not be able to collect the mythic transmogs. Not everybody, for example, has the same RNG. Some people will take far longer to get the items if they have poor RNG.
The fact that you are trying to group everybody that plays this game under the same umbrella is crazy to me. LIke, there are people who literally do not even raid. Why are you worried that they’ll be getting the transmogs any time soon…?
Correct. I could have broken down the third point even further with the complicated loot system, itself. But strangely, people on this thread seem to not even be able to grasp the list in it’s basic format so…
I am an oldie… Ive played wow for a long while now. And back then we where all oogling at the epic tier sets and weapons and transmogs the Endgame players had.
Even as roleplayers we care allot about it too on Argent dawn. And I know that too allot of people Raid loot is a huge incentive and driving factor to play the game and actually raid.
It always has been and always will be. And I think its a good thing people have incentive to raid.
Roleplayers who would never set foot in raiding or m+ actually tries out the endgame for this incentive.
Not everyone cares about raid loot only to get player power and better gear. The appearance is also a huge part of the reward to it.
I think even non rp’ers feel a sense of reward unlocking a cool appearance and item they won from a raid.
And I’d love it if transmog hunting was easier too I spend allot of time transmog hunting. But I can still see how just unlocking appearances once for the item just dropping would decrease the value of actually raiding and playing the game…
You get your mog and your done.
