Transmog in Classic (with a visibility toggle)

!! This system generates conflict amongst the new classic players x the old/purists, so this suggestion can only be considered IF the implementation of this system comes with a system toggle like “Only view my transmogrification - View all transmogrifications” that way you can opt out entirely of this system !!

There’s a lot of good looking gear pieces in the game, and a lot of them lose their meaning as soon as you get an upgrade. A lot of white/grey gear pieces are also vendor fodder as well, instead of serving any purpose at all.
If there was a transmog system (character bound instead of account bound) entirely optional (read the first line of this post), those items would have a purpose, plus it would open up more visual choices for the players without tainting the “vanilla flavor” of WoW Classic for those who care about it.
The added benefit would be the gold sink, since transmoging should cost at least 1g - 5g per action.
If the issue is lore related, I’m sure that blizzard can associate item transmogrification magic to a new mage npc that specialized/learned it through their journey.
“Go back to retail/Retail is that way” posts hold no water, since I’m not touching that game with a 10m pole, and it’s entirely irrelevant to the topic

in all seriousness if u admit its a silly thing that should be toggleable why not just get imorph…? u can even turn yourself into a dragon and make your frost bolts look like chain lightning

You know, that’s not a bad idea, thank you!
Even tho there’s a few benefits of making it a real system, like the gold sink and market value of useless items, but I get what you mean

Actually it is a bad idea, as it is bannable to change or alter the models.

-“Why?” do you ask.
Because you can also alter your enemies with big spikes, making them easy to see behind walls etc in PvP.

it’s no more bannable than anything else. if u literally exploit the game to get an advantage then maybe.

yes it is specifically mentioned in tos but if u pay attention so is everything else, these things are always left to be vague so they can ban u whenever they want with no legal consequences and not having to deal with people in court.

bots dont get banned u really think people get banned for making themselves look like whitemane? xd

literally every streamer uses imorph for years.

if you want to use imorph then use it… no u wont get banned even tho tos mentions it

Hopefully you won’t get in trouble for posting this
I had no idea that that iMorph was bannable

In anniversary, if people agree, I do not see why not.

Era can stay for us old players as unchanged as possible. There is a place for both possibilities tho.

I truly hope it gets deleted

Out of curiosity, how would an opt-out system like this affect the old folks? You would never have to see it, and it would only benefit the game with the gold sink and valorization of, otherwise, useless items

The issue as stated is that once you start making changes and adding things, it is very hard for Blizzard to stop tinkering and adding new things. It seems as if the cannot help themselves.

Also, we do have Anniversary and SoD on top of it where these things can be testes and implemented.

More than anything, it is my deep distrust towards Blizzard.

Okay, I understand now, that’s valid

There is a bad thing I can see happening and thats that people would need on gear just to transmog it even if they dont need it

this is true but people need on gear they dont want to equip anyway just to vendor it

I would say that there are less people that do that than if they could get something out of it visually (a lot of people want to look look a certain way in game so)

That’s fair, even tho there’s a gentlemen’s agreement to only need on stuff you need and greed on stuff you don’t need, I’m sure there would be a gentlemen’s agreement when it comes to need for a piece of gear for transmog, like either the party doesn’t mind or the party requests a share of the selling price of the item for your Need role

I would still like to see this system being implemented, honestly

Mogg is already in Classic so I dont see what’s the problem ?

I guess as long as the default option is off and it’s basically a legal client side imorph with gold sink attached, I don’t see why not. I am sort of tired of every mage in vanilla looking like a copy paste of each other in minmaxed raiding environment anyway, might as well utilize that gorgeous T.0.5, 1, 2 even if the stats are hot garbage.
