Unfortunate dark side of WoW Classic

I think you should follow your own advice mate.

Trying to argue against the actual meaning of words is illogical in itself

Everyone in the party “needs” 1000g equally. A BoE is a commodity, it is a tradeable item, like a diamond, a gemstone etc.

Do not try to say 100+g is not “needed” by all the people who triggered the drop.

Just because the commodity is an item makes no difference, that is why it DOES NOT BIND ON PICKUP… It is for trading.

It is clear you are missing something…so again I will leave you to those with more patience.

If the warrior needs that edgemaster he can grind the gold, sell that hunter BoE etc. to get the gold to buy it.

What people do amongst friends / guildies is personal choice, but to do otherwise in a PuG is being unfair.

wow you must be an absolute joy to play with “I need this to vendor, I need this epic to DE, I need this item so I can mail my alt” jesus what stupidity is this?

The only reason things like loot council and stuff exists is because of people like you that think it’s ok to just need on everything in sight.

You don’t NEED 1000g you just want it, you’re perfectly fine the way you are at that moment. You can’t get an instant upgrade by needing on something you have no idea about if it will sell, however the person who it’s an actual upgrade for gets an instant boost.

But then again logic is not your thing.

Suspect that is a phrase you are very used to hearing, perhaps you shouldn’t repeat it without understanding it.

In that case you must be used to hearing “omg ninjalooter”

You don’t NEED an instant upgrade. You just want it.

gear upgraded should be needed for raiding.

It’s clear who here have a crap conscious and or selfish beyond belief. There is a topic about this on the US forums as well, which has the same discussion going on where people try to justify their selfish gold needs over an actual upgrade for a person.

Lets just say that in vanilla that type of behavior was really bad and would get you kicked out of guilds even. You would end up on a blacklist and known as a ninja looter.

Coming back from not playing since WOTLK it saddens me to see what the “community” has become.

only thinking me me me me and screw everyone else because I’m the most important thing ever

Upgrades that you can buy with gold.

You are very entitled to demand that your group mates sponsor gold for your upgrades.

I had a ninja in a UBRS group steal a traveller backpack and then leave. So petty players are far and wide.

this is a stupid argument, what if there is none on the ah in the first place? I should buy it of the crap person that needed on it and didn’t actually need it?

It another place where selfish people like you get chewed out by people who actually have standards

On the contrary I am not so selfish that I demand that my group mates give up a chance at a large amount of gold just to sponsor MY GEAR. That would be insanely selfish.

Never in 15 years of playing have I ninjad anything.

This.

I have always pursued fairness. I have fallen out with so many GMs over the fact they want to restructure the DKP system to benefit officers, etc. (being an officer myself). I have never reserved “loot” and would never do so, as I don’t agree with that either.

BoEs are big sacks of gold, it is unfair to expect the group to fund someone just because of armour type.

Lmao, could you actually define what you think the difference between “Need” and “Want” is, while you’re at it?

I want 10000000000 euro, I don’t need it
I need food if I want to function properly

So hard to understand I guess? But I guess you really need 10000000000?

It was as a retort to your ridiculous claim, as in your case you never ninjad anything I never heard that phrase said to me.

That’s not how definitions work, but I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything more coherent.

Let me help you out:
“Need” implies a requirement for some goal, “Want” doesn’t.

You don’t need BoE gear to raid. So tell me again, how exactly do people “Need” BoEs and don’t “Need” gold?

Sigh, not sure how many times I have to explain this…

To be honest, it’s a complete waste of time trying to argue with someone that wants to justify their greed as something that is normal.

I was using an exaggerated example to imply the stupidity of the argument itself.

NEED has always implied you need it for gear to wear right now, or at least in the near future (that’s why people require you to equip it right there and then)

GREED has always been for people that want the item for gold or any other reasons like off-spec or alts.

That you are making your greed think you need it, is beyond me. No argument will win you over, nor the other way around.

You are a greedy person if you need on an item that a member if your party would use as a direct upgrade right now. Easy as that.

Your silly argument

Makes everyone need on everything as it supplies gold towards their goal, whatever that may be.

What if someone in your party needed on literally everything that drops and give you the same answer you gave me? Oh you can just run the dungeon again for a BoP. I really needed that BoP to disenchant because I need to reach 300 enchanting.

A holier-than-thou paladin… Funny.

Anyway, everyone needing on BoE epics is by far the best realistic solution.
There’s no chance of ninja’ing, and if the winner wants to give it to someone who will use it themselves, they can. No fuss, no drama.
Rolling greed means a big chance of drama if someone rolls need, and probably the group breaking up or others starting to need on BoP’s out of spite.

If you want to play it safe, roll need and tell others to do the same.
If you don’t mind risking the drama or don’t care, roll greed.
Simple as that.
