Due to an unexpected bug, Legion Remix launched with a circumstance where druid players could use bear and cat forms that they did not earn.
Please know that we’re working on fixing this (and other bugs), and when we do fix it, we expect that the forms will no longer be usable for players who didn’t earn them.

And do this for Retail too once and forever and award all +source IDs retroactively to all already used ensembles, because most of them are usable only once…
Very, very bad decision, in my opinion. This will only cause more players to be frustrated. Let the people enjoy these forms, at last. Nothing wrong in letting others keep them.

It is just in their heads if they get frustrated because something repeatedly confirmed not to be available is removed from them after obtaining it by simply logging in, right?
And so, the true timeline was safeguarded once more.
Why remove them… just bring back Mage Tower.
How are you going to make sure you dont remove someone who has earned it? How are you going to stop exploiters from getting it via deleted chars etc.
This is just a bad decision overall
I mean, it’s still a bit too much of a tease for people to not get frustrated over. The debate about mage tower artifacts was rather fierce, and this just makes more drama out of it, which in turn isn’t ideal for blizzard and the players who were genuely happy about it
Just stop trying to look for reasons why not to remove them and let them do it, they for sure know how to check who is eligible and who is not.

They could have enjoyed the skins for almost a whole day, that is probably even more than if the skins are awarded for free and allowed to be kept. In that case everyone would have them causing no value at all and most people would enjoy them for five minutes the same way like they did with LK mount or Sha mount after boosted drops…
In the end the main argument was to allow people to enjoy them and this has been met.
Why bring back Mythic: Chosen Dead but not Mage Tower if the reason for mage tower was its challenge? Why bring back Ahead of the Curve mount if the reason is exclusivity?
Mythic CD was still very hard when people were oneshotting MT with argus gear and AOTC mounts were “never meant to return”
This is an arbitrary restriction, just let people have Mage Tower skins. It’s the easiest softball imaginable, and still somehow blizz is finding ways to miss the shot.
Hell, the challenge of the Timwalked mage tower is harder than when MT was current content due to timewalking scaling being fundamentally broken. There is no excuse, this is just an abitrary lock of content.
People don’t play Remix to “reminisce about the expansion”. Sure, there’s always someone, but ultimately its about the reward incentives to acquire long-lost loot like the MoP cloaks or garrosh heirlooms for MoP. And ultimately most of the rewards in Lemix are just things most Legion players probably already have after a DECADE of grinding, outside of the new recolors.
Just enable the mage tower rewards to be earnt. People aren’t even asking for them to be handed out for free (As if they weren’t before), they just want a method of acquisition rather than artificial scarcity. Specially so that newer players have a shot at acquiring the rewards that came a decade ago.
Or, you know, just enable Mage Tower challenges with the old skins for Legion Remix? People really want this.
Ask Blizzard, dunno. Both things have nothing to do in Remix, but they are simply there because Blizzard felt like that.
the appearance itself is locked behind ashamanes weapon row of the MT appearance which only the druid/s can have when finishing the original magetower quest. its in their classhall. The barbershop cant have the appearance just by a char having the appearance on itself. If you dont have the classhall thing unlocked on your account it doesnt matter if people delete and restore characters. it wont unlock them.
But this is tied to an achievement, so… easily trackable.
