Yes it doesnt matter to new players becuse they are alredy late and they dont need that gear at all. It matters to old becouse you invalidating their time and effort. Its not fun too see some noob what just started playing game walk in raiding gear when all he did was afking in event zones while old players had to grind for it for several months.

And BTW i havent played DF at all till this event and i am fine having basic 480 itemlvl becouse i havent put any effort into getting it.

I just back then thought Flightstones would remain untouched (a mistake originating from my experiences in Destiny 2, where sunsetting is barely a thing). So yeah, I had false expectations and due to them I got disappointed.

Pre-patch gear is for:
Alts
Players who unsubbed before S4
Returning players who skipped DF
And so weāre not going to have much in the way of flightstones.
The devs very obviously wanted us to go into DF to get flightstones. Why else would they launch a pre-patch event with upgradeable gear and only 10 minutes of content for every 90 minutes?
But Iāll confidently suggest that many of the targeted players donāt want to do that. I mean, I stopped playing WoW in Feb because Iād had enough of DF. I came back now precisely because pre-patch is NOT DF. So why would I want to go back to DF to get flightstones to upgrade my catch-up gear?
Maybe if the event itself dropped flightstones it would make sense. But of course it doesnāt. Just another poor pre-patch design choice.
But I decided not to care about the lack of upgrades. Iām not going to stop pointing out bad design choices because thatās how capitalism works (companies cut quality until they upset too many cusomers). However, when Iām in the game Iāll just ignore the stuff that doesnāt work for me.

To the topic creator: Ignore the upgrade part of equipment and consider each piece as being locked at its base item level. There, problem solved. Besides you will replace them with the very first green item in TWW.
Also, āDelete stuff that is not funā? So delete 100% of the game since there is not a single part of the game for which there is not at least 1 person not hating it?
Not an insult at the person youāre replying to, but peopleās IRL stresses can definitely contribute to in-game hostility.

Its a bad design feature in it self since the gear is terrible without upgrades and the design crew does not care that much about it.

The prepatch event? nah, i did that earlier leveling my bank alt from 66-70 with heirlooms capped at level 60, afking and facerolling requires no equip.
TWW leveling? Absolutely not, 480 is more than OP enough for a comfy leveling experience
For running the exact dragonflight content that these people by their own admission donĀ“t want to run, anyway? Subpar yes, terrible noā¦ terrible is expecting to perform in S4 with S1 equip, not almost max s3 level equip.
The equip is an excellent starting point for any content, but you have to be willing to actually run that content, or it doesnĀ“t matter one bit how good or bad it is, anyway.
you need to do old content to upgrade under ilvl gear which should be upgraded using the event currency only.

If you can not address the OP if a polite manner then do not reply,just because of how they spoke does not mean you have to go to that level as well especially when they did not address you in the first place but spoke in fausatrations at the system which we have seen you do in many of your own posts.
I guess you somehow think you are better then others but all i can see is you getting a bad name on the forums for attacking people and having tantrumās. You did not have to āmockā the OP in the first place simple as that.

So, bottom line, the gear is āterribleā because you actually have to play the game to upgrade it, and not because you actually plan on using it in any capacity that would require gear anywhere close to the level it already has, much less 13+ itemlevels higher.
I rest my case, your Honor, people want the best possible gear for standing around afk. And I say phuggem all, next prepatch only gives out cosmetic items. If they donĀ“t want to play the geme they donĀ“t need actual gear, anyway .
You must be insane to defend a ācatch up gearā system/event requires flightstones i.e. doing dungeons and so on. And you need A LOT.
You always had some toxic comments here and there but I think at this point its obvious that you do it in a malicious way.

Counter-argument: The catch up gear is 480 which is higher than what world quests actually give right now. So not only are you already ahead of everyone who does not participate in organized instanced content, you are also given the option (as in not mandatory, up to your liking!) to no-life and upgrade it to even higher item level!
Again I reiterate, you can spend more time to upgrade the equipment, or you can keep it at its base item level. Just keeping it at its base level already puts you ahead of anyone who did not participate organized content.

Iām less annoyed by the flightstones and more about the crests.
My alt warrior now has to run M0ās to upgrade my gear to the point where I can use my keystone crests even though I have no use or desire to do M0 anymore as itās a step back in difficulty.
Flightstones + Crest system is still very bad imo, better than what it used to be, but still badly designed.
Some people donāt want an RPG, they want an idle game that gives them an illusion of dedication and skill

why would you bother if first normal dungeon you will do will drop you better loot ?
expansion is over - focus on leveling alts you neglected for year etc not on upgrading usless gear.
thats what this event is for - i finally will finish leveling up some allied races which were collecting dust for years in 20-30 bracket
