I really do not like Asmongold but i am disappointed in this Blizzard employee and i was pretty shocked to hear about this. I know asmongold is toxic and so are many of his followers but at the end of the day he does not work for Blizzard and a Blizzard employee should be professional.

And what we see nowadays a bit too often is people who want all the ‘good parts’ of being treated equal, but also all the ‘good parts’ of being treated ‘special’. That’s a no-go for me.

How exactly? The guy consistently and routinely organizes and puts together community events and brings in free advertisement and exposure to the tune of several tens of thousands of viewers on Twitch and on Youtube on an almost daily basis.
You can hate on his twitch chat and the idiots following him everywhere but to suggest that his presence in whichever game that he plays is anything other than overall positive is just ludicrous.

That have crashed servers for example AD was a complete mess for a night .
I disagree somewhat sorry . He actions when it comes to spitting on players about store mounts which he owns himself is very much a hypocrit .
He mocks and belittles players and other streamers constantly with armoury shaming just because they do not agree with his views .
He has also ninja’d items from his own guildies and told them to go away in rude terms if they did not like it .
So no sorry he is not always positive .

I remember some of the vile tweets they shared that they’d been receiving on their account.
I was not aware that Asmongold had been transphobic, was that just regarding pronouns or was there more to it? I don’t watch him. His streaming persona is not my cup of tea.
I also dislike encouraging bad behaviour towards other players with things like store/sub cosmetics, it would be fine if he kept his shenanighans to making yet another video/stream pouring salt over his head or ranting in his usual fashion without needing to rally the playerbase to go around spitting on anyone who has items from the store. This kind of thing does not make people stop getting them, it just makes us think they are the same name thing Asmon got called.
It does seem to be an issue with rabid fanbases but it’s not exclusive to Asmongold, although it seems to be on a larger scale with him due to his following size. It’s not exclusive to gaming either. Ofc it’s very easy to be a keyboard warrior on the internet, mostly hidden behind anonymity when attacking others.
I’m not sure if not sure if not mentioning it would have made the reactions any different though but yes discussing it on stream is obviously going to highlight the people involved even more.
I do remember another streamer who was talking about another person, threatening to kick anyone from their community who went after the person being discussed. I have no idea if that kind of thing has a better effect when it comes controlling the more rabid side of fanbases.

Dude expresses opinion on other dude on internet, no statement was made by Blizzard or OTK for that matter. This wasn’t about customers, this wasn’t about negative or positive coverage by a streamer.
Plenty of content creators have a positive relationship with Blizzard but do not necessarily put out all flowerly supportive content. Some are well known for their constant negative views. There are also streamers who actually seem to enjoy the game they play.
Not about this in particular but you have to have big balls to be withstand the hatred that comes with making a comment about a big streamer like Asmon because the rabid part of their fanbase will make your life very unpleasant. This is not exclusive to gaming.

Bringing exposure to the game is one thing. But he is also notorious on my server for causing crashes deliberately alongside with throwing out insults and harassment to the community. Among many other things.
He is generally not a nice guy as a person and encourages a hostile game environment. A toxic individual through and through.
