Hmm is this a 120 quest only aswell? Just loged a 65 alt, and im not able to take the quest. Thought it would make more sens that the item droped from mobs that grants XP.
I think how the design of this armor was inspired by the Revan one from SWTOR, especially the mask. That wouldn’t be the first time that Blizzard is copying the things from that game, the design of some of the Mechagon mounts is also very similar to this one from it :

I am wearing the transmog right now, if you click on my profile you can see that I am having it transmoged but it’s bugged, it took me between 6 to 7 hours to farm it, not even joking, what I did was spam killing the Humans in tiragarde sound Freehold. my rng was baaaad guys, I got 5 my first few humans, then it took forever, I got good amount of Cloth though and greens from the kills! but it was taking a lot of time. and to answer your question, the transmog is only useable “Requires being level 110” btw.
I’ve got 6 after like 1 hour. Hmm.
Does it only drops from bfa zones or?

After trying to solo in diffrent places, and doing sume normal and HC dungens, i only got 4.
I got the Killtrack addon and started a timer and joind a group at the blood gate.
Now i am not good with Killtracker, I think it only shows MY killing blows on mobs.

Got the set now, find a group at blood gate and just keep going. I did this AFTER rumers from a guildie that there was a post on wowhead that blood gate drop rate was nerfd. As far as I can see it, it is NOT nerfd. It’s the same drop rate that every other place.
KEEP IN MIND! If you are going to do this, clean you bag beforhand, there will be ALOT of BoE. Even some Epics, I got one, and some members also got some.
It is a good thing to have a vender mount aswell.

The drop rate seems changed now, up to 21/40 now. good to have a vendor mount and an addon autoselling trash.
its still Low RNG, been doing Freehold trash farming for like 8 hrs now, and are 14/40

Doing freehold trash as well, up to 27/40. getting there.
I went from 15 echos to 40 echos in 1 hour and 10mins at the Blood gate

2 Hours to get from 11 to 40 at the Blood Gate aswell :P!, looks so Good with the Mount!

Sadly the cloak clips badly with the mount with all but the midget races.
I can’t ride that mount because it feels like I’m riding an armoured spérm cell into battle.
Accented because the forum is childish and doesn’t like such words.
I accepted the quest yesterday, and started farming with a random group from the group finder. Farmed in two sessions:
- Yesterday, 1 hour farming, got me 19 Echos.
- Today, 1 hour and 5 minutes, got me from 19 to 40 Echos.
Not too bad, in my opinion.
One thing that I notice, within seconds of joining the group, I’ve got 5 Echos in one time; happened to me in both occasions of the above sessions. And then the drop rate went downhill from there and got randomly between 1 to 4 Echos from a group of mob each 5 minutes.

Im pretty sure Blizzard did something to the droprate. It was horrid the first day. Last night stuff suddenly began to drop quite frequently.
I ended up grinding it out on my alt. I did finally get some to drop on my main this morning, so maybe they fixed it a bit. I did 30 solo grinding and then for the last 10 joined a blood gate party and that went very quickly.
I think in the end, the purpose is for us to add as many new souls to the Maw as possible. The Jailer is ingenious giving us a mog set that requires us to kill a thousand+ mobs. :lmao:
