Void Elves should get Blue eyes in Shadowlands

And that is what I am telling you.

It DOES make sense for the Blood Elves to get blue eyes again.

Why do they get golden eyes? Because of the Light part of the Sunwell, right?

Back in the earliest chronicle blizzard “firmly” established that the Sunwell is 50/50 Light and Arcane, right?

So if the Blood Elves can get golden eyes, then they very well can get blue eyes once again.

It is not about “making up lore” to justify it at this point.

It is simple rational inference, it is logical, it makes sense that this is exactly what would happen.

We have also always known that the High Elven eye colour changes depending on the magic they are surrounded by, this is ancient High Elf lore. So once again, the Sunwell is a mix of Light and Arcane magic.

Boom.

Blue eyes DOES make perfect sense considering these very facts, there is nothing new that have to be added to justify it.

In fairness, that -is- the only distinction between some Blood Elves and some High Elves. Remember, Blizzard confirmed that there are High Elves with fel-green eyes (The Allerian Expedition in lore have green eyes, one of the questgivers even makes a point of saying they are not a Blood Elf -despite- their appearance)
There are Blood Elves who have Blue Eyes, The example that always springs to mind is Laneth the Steelweaver. How does a Blood Elf have blue eyes? Simple, he lived in Dalaran during TBC, so was never exposed to Fel, as the Belfs chucked away the Fel Crystals when the Sunwell was reignited, as they no longer needed them to keep the buildings intact.

Except not all of them -did-. Live in Quel’thalas. Laneth can’t be the only Blood Elf who wasn’t in Quel’thalas during TBC…there were quite a few Blood Elves in Dalaran.

I’m not against Alliance getting High Elves, but blue eyes for Blood Elves makes lore sense… Especially now the Sunwell appears to be cleansing the taint…

It’s not “blue-blue”… It’s more a white’ish pale blue…

Also, yes we should get normal skin :<
I don’t care about the eyes, I like the ones I have… or maybe I could get a dark purple eye color :octopus:

Give me at least one or two normal skin options so I can be a Void Elf like Alleria :<

In lore, new Void Elves wouldn’t turn into Blueberries even, because that only happened because of Durzaan and he’s dead.

shouldnt void elves have like purple/blackish void eyes tho?

I mean how is anyone supposed to know that you’re a void elf death knight?

Darkish-purple eyes for the Void Elves would be kinda awesome.

Isn’t the fact that sunwell isn’t purely an arcane source of magic why they can’t have blue eyes? So i’m confused as to why you think blue eyes is justified all of a sudden. I mean wasn’t the whole golden color because of the light and arcane aspects of the sunwell? maybe i’m missing something here. I don’t have that detailed of an information in that regard.

They really should, even created a thread about this days ago.

They should’ve added 3 purple-eyed faces to Void Elves at the same time that they added 3 golden-eyed faces to Blood Elves.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Stopped reading there. Only thing i agree is that allied races should have more options too.

I think it is more that Light is more efficient than Arcane at combatting Fel, hence we see the Golden Eyes first, the Blue/Arcane would take longer, which is probably what we see happen in 9.0 I guess.

" Horde bias would be fully confirmed."

If the Sunwell being 50/50 both sources is what prevents them from getting blue eyes but still able to get gold eyes, then that is what would not make sense at all.

As far as I have understood it, though, since the information is not contradicting, but confusing nontheless, the Blood Elven priests and paladins rely on faith and willpower like any other race currently to draw upon the light, but the light the Blood Elves draw upon still comes from the Sunwell.

So the Blood Elven are drawing upon the Light source in the Sunwell, and because they doing so they get golden eyes.

Hence why it’d make sense if the other Blood Elves who generally draw upon the arcane source would end up with blue eyes, and as Brigante points out, thanks to the inclusion of the Light the fel taint is cleansed much faster. The Sunwell provides a constant, passive surge of both Light and Arcane to flow through the Blood and High Elves.

Not sure how it works for Void Elves currently, if they are completely cut off from it… they might be.

To be honest both come from High Elves, we’re just the bulk that renamed itself, they didn’t become a different race. So really we could both just have blue eyes. :woman_shrugging:

But it would dash the hopes of all those who really want Alliance High Elves.

At this point blizzard might want to do that.

I don’t know. If lore wise having blue eyes makes sense, then I don’t see a problem with them adding blue eyes to blood elves. Even though i kind of thought that the effects of this naa’ru purified sunwell can only turn the eye color into gold and blue isn’t an option anymore. But maybe i’m wrong and it’s still capable of turning blue due to its arcane magic.

as for void elves, they don’t use the sunwell. They don’t use arcane either. Their source of magic comes from the void. Blue eyes is just out of the question for them right now. Even if high elves with blue eyes who are studying void, swap into the void elvs, they’ll eventually turn into the current void elves.

Dunno… Personally I don’t care about the bright baby-blue eyes of the High Elves…

I just want to be able to play a 2nd generation Void Elf that has normal skin. The eyes can still be this sickly pale white/blue for all I care.

2nd generation Void Elves would logically speaking have normal skin like Alleria, simply because the physical change that happened with the 1st generation Void Elves was only because of Nether-Prince Durzaan and he’s dead.

Blue eyes for Blood Elves would make sense, as the Sunwell is both Arcane and Holy.

That’s fine, I don’t want the High Elf eyes. I just want a couple normal skin tones so I can play a 2nd generation Void Elf.

Also, no. There’s nothing indicating an elf studying the Void would turn into a blue elf over time.
If this was true, Alleria would be blue as she’s studied the Void for a long time before anyone else.
The reason Void Elves are blue is only because of Nether-Prince Durzaan and he’s dead.

My hopes were dashed when Ion told me to roll Horde to live my race fantasy, so that’s what I did.

It would probably be best at this point for Blizz to come forward and give a straight yes or no answer.

nobody will be happy until we’ll have ORIGINAL high elves playable, labeled as high elves, with high elvish racials, mounts, and coming from factions as the silver covenant/quel danil etc.

See, this is why I’m so against the topic ideia.
It’s not like I’m pro-High Elf either, but if it must happen it should be High Elf allied race, separated from Void Elves, with their own racials, mount, customization (blue tattoos), hairstyles and so on…
Adding High Elf skins to Void Elves is destroying the identity of the Void Elf race and making 2 races in 1 race slot.

That or just let half the races choose their faction freely already and Blood Elves get blue eyes for choosing Alliance and take the name High Elf.

@op OORRor make all blood elves 50/50 chance to turn into alliance high elf on login. faction balance and high elf request fixed in 1 change. void elves are junk and a mockery of the alliance. delete them or purify them back to helf status so they rejoin their silver covenant and other elf settlements populace

Blood elves will never join the alliance scum, Roll horde or no bloodelf for you.
