Because i have been able to wield them years before dh was even a thing.
And if dh’s want the glaives remove every other weapon choice from them then.
Back on days hunters did wear melee weapons, and ranged weapon 
Give us DH’s the Scythe of Elune and you can have the glaives.
No, that I remember. Because it was a thing in WotLK too. But I don’t remember Hunters being able to duel-wield the Warglaives of Azzinoth. That’s why I’m surprise they said Hunters.
No wonder this game is dead. They’ve been advertising that legendaries are back in 8.3 for transmog for months. Then 1 week before the patch comes out they decide to just F players over because demonhunters been crying on forums.

I remain of the idea that the drop of legendaries should be linked to the expansion and then removed, this makes them ‘legendary’ not that one can farm them by ridiculing the bosses that have frightened us so much at the time

Nobody has cried about mogs on this forum as much as you have.
Never get the Warglaives even though I’ve done a gazzillion of times BT, I don’t give a rat a$$ for it, much better a little relax with the Shivarras at Chambers of Delights 
I’m assuming everyone defending this is also fine with DH losing all weapons that isn’t warglaives? After all, it’s not iconic of dhs to use other weapons.

This late decision is a slap in the face . I personally think DH has alot of iconic bits already . Next you be asking for the leather head from Illidan to be DH only because somebody had to wear it back then right ?

The glaives from BT are swords . Its a slap in the face for players who got them during TBC.

Class fantasy and sword classification aside, the only real reason is probably to not diminish the achievement of those who put the effort in to get it for their DH.
Personally I don’t care either way, and I did go to the effort to earn them.
If they do give them to everyone they should replace the current achievement reward to something impressive, like allowing the DH to fly with their wings or something, similar to druid flight form.
Are the artifact weapons included in this change? Will my Paladin be able to transmogrify Apocalypse, its a two handed sword after all?
Times change, they were swords because blizz had to cut dh and outland when making vanilla and used that to make a loot pinata expansion. Good riddance.

They are hundreds of weapons in this game but you absolutly need this one ?
Same could be said for you. There are hundreds of weapons yet you get hung up on “dh weapon”
