Was sad, now mad

Would you rather want an easily obtained mount via gold, or through playing the game’s content? That’s the issue I have with this. I don’t think they “ruin” the game, but i think they should focus more on incentifying players to do - in this case - the Lunar Festival event.

Wow is a special game where we do content to be rewarded, either through gear or cosmetics, and we make friends along the way. While other games - like overwatch - focus primarly how fun it is to play, rather than rewarding players through play.
Pretty much all mmorpgs are this way, and by gating this behind an event, who knows, maybe I would stumble upon a different player, make a friend along the way? Or do it with a friend I already have.
Now compare this to farming gold to buy a mount, where does the social aspect come in?

The money spent is recompense for the development time creating the program, pixels and hardware so players can use use the mount. So if they are happy supporting the development of pixels that they will never actually own but which in turn may just supprt the development of the game then go nuts.

Sustaining the game is the important factor. If it makes players happy and they stay to play the game so I can enjoy myself then I have no problem what so ever. I don’t see mounts in dungeons so I really couldn’t care less.

There are mounts in bfa which cost more than this mount does in gold. Thinking of the ah mount. While farming for this you would not meet new people either.

There are achievs for the lunar event. I am doing them now. You need to do dungeons and wintergrasp for them and they give tokens which you can buy costumes and toys with. Imo thats enough and they dont need to add more as I still need plenty of them as it is.

If you think buying something for 25 euros makes someone part of the “elited few of the royal blood” then you’re either unemployed or have serious money management issues.

Every single addition of a store mount raises them quite a considerable amount of money due to eager players wanting to buy every garbage there is.

So when these players exist who buy anything, even if it’s a fat flying pig, why shouldn’t they sell it? Integrity? Yea that’s gone buddy. Welcome to the game industry in 2010 and forward.

I apologise if I’m repeating what has already been said.

Personally I appreciate that Blizzard give us the option to get the Chinese New Year mounts. Even if it’s via the store. Anyone can either grind the gold or buy it for IRL money if they really want it.

In the past we had no access to these mounts and that always seemed a shame. Something they do specially for a different region but give us the option to buy it ourselves.

I bought the dog last year as well. I like both of them and their oriental flavour.

There are so many mounts available in the game. I really don’t see this any different from a mount you get by buying a ticket to an event and get a mount, a reduced sub cost promotion, a TCG mount which go for insane money outside of the game etc etc.

I am doing the coin farm on a few of characters because I want the new toys and the hearthstone. I find it very chill to roam around with some music on and collect them while chatting with guildies. I specifically did it on 110 chars so I got a level out of it for my troubles

Do you think the dog is a bit too small also? I feel oversized sitting on it on my elves :frowning:

My belf is small so she fits fine on most things.

But I can understand some other races might not fit so well.

Hunger is a zero sum word, you’re either hungry or you’re not, same goes for agree, you either do or you don’t.

I think you know I’m right but you’re just trying to save face “somewhat”.

Even those that think Blizzard is a racist company because there are no black characters in WoW?

And not to belabour this point but I think it’s worth repeating.

You need to come to terms with not being able to afford something.

The solution can’t be you trying to convince the seller to giveaway their product for free.

Argh those cute chubby cheeks :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I wish mounts would scale with your race a bit more. My dog always barks when I mount it because of the little bark it does

I will definitely try mounting up on one of my Nelfs next time to see the size difference, I guess my Nightborne would be the same issue.

I have no time for people that want to force every ethnicity into fantasy games under the guise of racism.

Maybe that post about SJWs etc was more correct than I was giving it credit.

I think paying for mounts is great. I rather buy a mount with one hour of real work than wasting hundreds of hours farming it in a game with repetitive actions.

Because the game is in a sadder state than it’s been in a long and this is the second store mount in as many months. Blizz has very little goodwill with how many bad decisions they’ve made with BfA that putting a chunky pig that leaves a trail of gold without calling it “self reflection” should be a crime.

It’s pathetic how people in this thread pull the “poor” card, no one cares how much it costs. I wouldn’t buy it even if it was 1 euro because blizz isn’t even worth my 13 euros a month right now. If they wanna do store mounts, do it when the rest of the game is solid, not when you’re low on cash and need to milk the people who hasn’t left to make up for losing subscription numbers.

Obligatory you’re giving blizz 40 euros for the mount if you buy it with gold.

Well, at least it’s purely cosmetic…

They do it for the chinese newyear. If they only add it in China people would cry also

I don’t see how adding it in china equates to “add to cash shop”.

I dont see why the time span between mount matters if the mount is related to a yearly event

There is none really, it’s just a bad look. Then Whomper the month before, probably some in-game valentines pet or something for february.

Does the ratio between in-game and store mounts and pets have to hit 50-50 before “it’s just cosmetic bro you dont have to buy it” argument starts sounding a little bit weak on top of your monthly sub and bi-yearly expansion cost?

Whomper was sold as a charity pet

Wow has more free mounts and pets then any game i know. Is it a crime when they want to make extra money? People who have the money to spend can buy a mount and people who dont can still farm for it. Dont see the issue
