emissaries would give more than just 2k ap or 2k gold or 1 random item (you could get all 3 in a legion emissary),
you could make good gold,
mission were useful,
trash in dungeons and broken isles seemed less or at least it wasn’t everywhere
Gameplay was better, artifacts provided more interactions between abilities
We had Suramar
Legendaries, although unbalanced, were a good reason to run old content
Tier sets tailored for each class looked great, unlike the turd universal sets of bfa
Better looking gear for transmog, unlike anything in bfa.
No azerite gear meaning we could get head, shoulders and chests with haste, crit, etc…
Some abilitiea were off the gcd
Everything in bfa seems to just take longer to complete and it’s not making me play more, it’s frustrating me into thinking to quit every time I log in.
Different artifact skins to farm, from hidden to mage tower and pvp
There might be more, this is from the top of my mind.
Mine? well it did contain basicly everything what did legion better then BFA. Legion had everything for real what palyers wanted. The list is so big that i am not even want to begin It was a perfection sience Wrath Of The Lich King.
Its just same. We liked legion, but that doesnt mean we wanna play it for next 2 years after being 2 years in legion. Bfa feels like a big patch to legion but without legendaries, class raid sets, artifact traits or skins theres nothing to go out for.
Ive had hope, but after readig yesterday interview with Ion where he said we shouldnt expect class changes when somr spec are unplayable since the start is kinda drop for me.
legion gave us class fantasy (class halls, with lore, quests and mounts) and a cool weapon we could customize, different for every alt, and that gave us new passive effects and active ability that actually mattered.
also the suramar campaign that i loved ( every time i think that my beloved friends thalissra, oculeth and valtrois are horde my heart breaks).
and murloc quest givers, there were more murloc stories in the broken shore, than in this “water themed” expansion, we even had a murloc recruit training in trueshot lodge.
I can’t be bothered with leveling new alts anymore, of the 6 characters i had maxed out in legion without nearly any effort (some of wich from lvl 20), i only leveled 4 so far, i’m stuck on the 5th and i really have no motivation to keep leveling it, despite having to do only 10 levels on them.
also the whole BfA faction war… we already know no one will win, and it will all resolve the the old usual stalemate, so i have no stake in it.
sure i want revenge for teldrassil, but we all know we’ll never get any. the most we’ll get in return is for tyrande to become the new sylvanas in 9.0
A compelling story about how Azeroth may not see another day if everyone doesn’t forget their differences and find a way to defeat the Legion.
Three heroic leaders that gave their life, fighting the Legion.
An example to follow.
If my PC had met his final hour in that beach, I would not care.
Seeing how BfA is turning out, I just wish now every single one of my Horde characters had died in the Broken Shore, it would had been epic.
As pointed out by Zakkaru in story forum it had inconsistencies, it may had been lore incorrect to put the Alliance and the Horde PCs working that close together, in the Order Halls if you are a Forsaken or a Worgen.
But I was always anxious to logg in and play.
In BfA I am happy to not play, a story that keeps giving me PTSD.
Probably faster patches to tune classes and more daring changes.
There’s still no will showcased to bring other healers to druid levels in M+ for example, despite being so close to 8.2. Essences don’t change anything since druids themselves get to use them.
And nerfing druids fixes nothing, the point is getting people to enjoy content, not deprive druids and warriors of what they’re already good at.
In Legion, we actually had a distinct enemy, whereas in BfA we’re just fighting for fighting’s sake. They turned Sylvanas into some war-driven monster just so we could get content. Remember the Sylvanas who was actually a good character?
In Legion, we had losses (Vol’ Jin, Varian) and a reason to fight. Who save we lost in BfA? And why, exactly, do we fight? Oh yeah, because they make Sylvanas Bat-poop crazy. It’s an expansion that has already been done before - It’s a Garrosh re-run.
They’ve given us recoloured races, and in Legion they had a whole new class that wasn’t just a rework. Seriously - we have white draenei, Tauren with antlers, fat humans and Trolls with different skin colours.
Remember when what class you played actually mattered? When Class Zones meant something? We had Quest Lines tailored to a specific class and not everything was so generic anymore - it felt like there was actually a point to picking a class. I got a chance to feel like I was a Shadow Priest when I got my Artifact weapon and drained the Shadow Energy from that Naaru.
Legion had an expansion while Battle for Azeroth is a cheap recycled DLC made to suck lots of $$$$€€€£££¥¥¥ so they can remaster something else, sorry, recycle.
But that is my opinion. I am looking forward to the coins shop since they go very well for activision and eso.
The real questions are:
What is the difference between BFA and the rest of expansion?
How did wow went from up to straight line full of holes and humps?
Why would you play classic if you already been there and done that? But the real question would be if the answer is somehow positive, what arracts you to replay a game that you spent so many hours in the past and missed some important events in life (if thats was the case) especially when you have to keep paying a sub for that?
Power progression for characters to persue not tied into replaceble gear (artifact weapon and traits)
Class identity (cloth/leather/mail/plate sets all share the same looks for all classes)
Customization of classes
Forced to choose between fun trait or better stats (would rather see the Azerite traits tied to the neck which isnt replaced at all but essences removed that chance completely and imo doesn’t make up for the choice at all)
For me the answer is: because BfA current narrative makes the game, as a Honourable Horde player that liked Thrall, Vol’Jin and Cairne unplayable.
Having to follow Nathanos every where without the option to defect as Zekhan did is annoying.
WoW is a MMOG.
You play to be with other players.
Activision Blizzard forgot that, period
Classic is a real MMOG, BfA is not.
Any doubts, go and level up on your own as in BfA, you will soon realise you are not going anywhere, some quests requires 3 players in order to be completed and God help you, if none wants to heal, or plays a healing class.
Act like a prick and you will soon realise how fast your bad manners are known throughout the entire community.
Level up another character ?
Good luck with that, it takes ages.
Name change ?
Not available.
Server transfer ?
Not available.
Exactly. There’s nothing in particularly wrong with BfA it’s mostly Legion repackaged and I think that’s the issue.
Azerite armor is Artifacts remastered. Instead of relics we have armor traits but we still need to level this neck to access the traits. Sound familiar.
Essences seem a bit like Netherlight Crucible with a few tweaks.
Island expeditions are timeless isle instanced with the other faction to time it.
Legion had actual engaging content, BFA’s content is not really that engaging. Plus you had additional things to keep you busy like the artifact fishing pole, the Falcosaur mounts, fishing and pvp world quests. And more zones than we have currently.
