What do you wish NOT to see back in 9.0?

Artifact system, needs to go now. Been done to death, in BFA it feels half arsed.

No more pathfinder, been in way to many xpacs and is very stale.

Followers, please please, just no more!

Gating the main stuff (Story / pathfinder) behind:
Dungeons.
Multiple Rep grinds.

Also small maze like zones with mob desities of a pub on new year’s eve. Unless these are optional zones to explore at end game with nothing gated behind them.

List of changes:

  1. Time gating, remove it. Make it rep based (ala 5.1 reputations), the mor effort the faster you get rewards. An obvious example is Mechagon here and the 8.0 reputations where you only can get a fixed amount of rep a day. Or the war campaign where you got a quest a week
  2. Pathfinder being able to complete on launch if so wish to
  3. Get rid of revered/exalted repuations requirements of pathfinder, make it met them or just friendly
  4. NO! MORE! AP! GRINDING! Or any kind that is purely designed to keep us logging in back daily
  5. Professions fixed
  6. Professions CDs back to weekly (like in Cata and earlier)
  7. Return of most if not all pruned skills (Frostfire Bolt is indeed a bit useless in todays game and serves no purpose anymore, but Frostbolt does for a fire mage because of the slow)
  8. Just make melee SV the 4th spec and bring back ranged SV
  9. Make gear stand out, you wanna make benthic OP? Fine but disable it in raids get creative and no more “3% extra crit damage” for world gear but abilities that only work in said open world (See Preach’s latest benthic video for examples)
  10. Remove random sockets, it either has one or a few or not at all
  11. Make warforge based on a currency that has a weekly cap (MoP and WoD had this). You choose what to upgrade!

I would like to not see a grind that follows you throughout the expansion like the Artifact weapon/neck, cause that makes you burned out before the xpac even started.

I whis to not see the same loot between LFR and the other 3 difficulties.

I loved how it was in WoD that LFR had it own items and tiers

Right now? I just want to get beguiling out.

Times changes. FFXIV does the story better. Time gates are boring, quit being stuck in 1999.

If you could binge the entire storyquestline of BfA it would be just like 1 hour, WoW would definitely need to step their story game up if it wasn’t timegated.

That would be right now, in 8.2

Imagine a big patch and you get a 10min quest and that’s it, that would be unacceptable.

If I’m not mistaken I was gated and still am on my horde gated by 10 days of boring chores for my follower before I can continue with my business which is heritage armor for my tauren. I mean ye, I get that we don’t get 100hours worth of story content and I’m totally fine with that, more than time gating to make it seem longer.

  1. Mission table. It was lame in WoD, it was lame in Legion and it is lame now. It’s nothing more than a stupid Facebook game where you do nothing but click stuff and wait. On top of that, they sometimes gate the story behind it. Oh boy, I was soooooooo excited to wait 8h per mission for FIVE missions to advance my class hall storyline. /s The only worthwhile thing about it were the rep missions and the gold missions and in BfA both suck hard.

  2. Followers/Bodyguards. Bad AI, annoying talking over and over and now I have to level them as well? Just remove them already. Another failed system from WoD.

  3. Weekly chests. Stop putting RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG. I’ve been disappointed far more than I’ve been excited from opening that chest. Maybe Ion has a mad luck streak so he’s happy. I’m not.

  4. Same sets for everyone. It’s lame. I know that we have plenty of class sets, but it’s boring seeing new gear being the same for everyone. Also, the BfA raid gear looks horrible for most part. Look at LFR/Normal/HC mail sets from Eternal Palace and tell me that crap deserves to be called raid gear. You can’t. Even some questing gear looks better.

  5. Allied Races. Just give that extra customization to the original races and don’t split it for an allied race. Not only does that limit the already poor customization options we have, but the allied races take away story development from the original races for the most part OR they become irrelevant as soon as they’re added. I’d rather get two nice, unique races than 6-8 crappy reskins.

No! I don’t care how to get flying, all I know is that I want it.

They could add Allied Races as unlockable customization options to the already existing races. This would help with the rep issues, progression lost and ect…

I’m cool with the Removal of GCD in general but ability removal, are you out of your mind? Do you want them to turn this game into a MOBA or a mobile game? GTFO… NO!!!

Environmental scaling shouldn’t be a thing, atleast not at max level. Or provide an option to disable it for those who don’t want that.

Finding the NPCs that sell the gear pieces has never been a problem that’s just a lame excuse they gave, to cover up the fact that they wanted to add more RNG to the game.

What I would like to see:

  • Better classes / specializations designs
  • More attention to PvP content
  • More customization options for characters, abilities, mounts and such
  • Personal and small group challenges like Mage Towers and Hivemind
  • More rewards for higher mythic key completions other than just higher-level gears
  • Less RNG overall
  • A combination of the old talent tree and the new one
  • Better leveling content or at least faster leveling for those who already have more than 5 characters above level 100
  • Meaningful Primary professions, Gold making wise
  • Bring back Reforging and Gem slots

The big thing for me is class fantasy, and I’d like it back. Focus on the RPG part of mmorpg and if need be sacrifice the competitive aspect of the game because otherwise you’re gonna keep trying to balance around that and it’s not working out.

Good idea. Would have less of a problem with that. I would like to see some new races though, the customization options in wow are a decade old and showing.

no addons/hacks or whatnot letting ppl cc chain with 0 cds/or kickbot

battle for nazjatar=PRUNE the lag/same goes for ashran

also perma ban for every bot/idiot who queues to feed the other side free kills

que premade anywhere=get matched with same one

AOO quest deleted permanently same with warmode can return pvp servers back

returning pvp vendors
no rng
mob scaling
and removing gcd
+sharding and crz
certain talents that work for your spec baseline like dunno the hammer talent for rets(not the stun the one that you can use on 20% health targets or with wings generating 1 HP)

how about if each professions materials had a separate reagent bank slot
jewelcrafting=gems
enchanting=enchanting mats
same goes with the rest

Endless AP grind, needs to be a weekly cap

Less options, Legendary system was great when we could equip gear for various situations, a vendor would be great so we could pick the pieces we want the most first

Please no more Island expeditons or such, I personally think it should be better if we got more rewards for raids and dungeons where good geared players help out lesser good geared players

No more followers that follows us around, I really dislike that I can’t vanish with my rogue when my follower is in combat or when my dh jumps of a cliff and he takes aggro because he have a ground mount

Less rng overall, Im fine with some rng it makes us excited about our loot but it has become to much

  • Mandatory scripted gameplay that everyone has to do and is timegated to force subscriptions and to pretend there is “content”
  • ilvl as the only gear quality/power metric
  • negation of previous progression every major patch
  • world quests all over the place
  • scripted, mandatory, mostly meaningless progression currency / system
  • non-existent professions
  • economy based on convoluted large quantity funnels, hyperspawns and alike
  • error-less specs, gating using other class specs
  • 3 new zones dense pack with mobs, world quests and everything else that was before is obsolete, just to obsolete those 3 new zones in second major patch
  • raid tiers and ilvl inflation ticks as the only lifeblood of the expansion
  • single player feel of the game
  • fun-detected-must-remove
  • to many difficulty levels for raids, overabundance of gear, gearing through weekly boxes, upgrades that feel completely meaningless, upgrades given by a measure of time spent or time passed.
