What pets do you like?

Hello Hunters, I have a few questions for you. What are you prefer more? Tanky pets or DPS pets? Cats/Wolves or Turtles/Boars?

Currently, I am almost level 32 and I am considering to tame a turtle in Foothills. Right now, Im using a boar (Bellygrub), its level 31.

Want to try some new pets, and I cant chose which one should I pick.

Also, is it possible to level 2 pets at the same time? I mean, to use both while youre leveling, but not too much levels behind from your character?

With my Orc Hunter, travelled all the way to Redridge to tame Bellygrub, he’s my favourite

The best option so far for you now would be to tame the Lupos  Its a wolf with shadow dmg ( not sure if he still has shadow dmg or i have mistaken it for another pet, mby broken tooth. ) wandering duskwood, it was best for hunters till 40+ lvl when you can tame brokentooth

Another one would be king bangalash, my friend is 58 and still exp with him

I like boars for pvp against melee due to their stun. Also good for leveling. I love cats against casters due to fast attack speeds contributing to casting pushback. I also love wolves in dungeons for the party melee boost. Owls are great at reducing damage and keeping aoe threat.

My personal favorite regardless of benefit? Wolves.

Depends on the specific part of the game.
I like boars for solo tanking.
Wind serpents for moments your pet dies in seconds in melee.
Brokentooth(cat), other fast hitting cats or SFK worg for pvp.

I heard a lot about that Brokentooth, lol, is that cat really that much strong? Im very opresive with DPS pets since Im a new player and I have more faith in tanks because I didnt learn yet how to control my pet (sometimes I forget about him in bigger fights - like dungeons) and my concern is if I take low armor/hp pet, maybe it will die too many times. My first pet was a bear, after that I tamed a boar.

For leveling an owl hands down. They learn screech which is great for some aoe threat while leveling.
They do pretty good on the dps part as well.

I am using owl as well and i like it!

It’s not about being strong so much than having very fast attack speed.

I tamed turtle I can tell you, really like it as an animal, but as a pet in WoW is not that great. Bellygrub seems way more better because it has better damage and its tanky enough for farming. Maybe turtle will be great in a dungeon (didnt try it), but its really slow imo. Plus, boar eats everything. Now, I need to test a wolf and cat (maybe I will test a cat first since my next station is ST Vale).

I was planning to get a Windserpent. As they are super cool. But i decided to level in Mulgore because i wanted a little headstart on TB rep and Valley of Trials sucks. Then i found The Rake. I’m gonna take that one all the way to 60.

Use petopia to get a cat, some are fast and others are a bit slower.

Owl definitely my top spot for levelling and for boosting. The aoe threat from screech is great, dive sends them faster than a speeding bullet and claw hits fast, so they can keep threat. They look fragile, but they’re strong. Love owls. I’d try to get to teldrassil if I was playing horde hunter.

I can understand the appeal of owls.

But why take an owl when you can get a freaking ravenous vulture that will scratch your target’s flesh to the bones ?

Owl: “Oh no ! I am being flapped to death by a fluffy fluffball !”
Carrion bird: “Oh no ! I am being disembowled by the the scourge of the wastelands !”

Carrion birds are best birds. Also, their diet is better.

Because they’re not as fast and do less damage. Carrion don’t compare. Sorry.

Debatable.

7% more damage for owls.
5% more armour for carrion birds.
Carrions have same abilities as Owl and bite to compensate 7% damage with frontloaded burst.

The difference in efficiency is negligeable. I would argue Carrion birds can be better specialized.

You’re wrong imo. :slightly_smiling_face:

A slower bird doing less damage is more likely to lose threat on multiple targets because you can’t switch so fast when needed. Owls are stronger than they look, can hold threat on enough mobs that you can aoe them down, even in a group and if it’s that bad you can heal them and they still hold the mobs like super glue. Whooo are best? Owls are best! That’s Whoo.:owl:

Bite is no good btw. It uses focus that is better spent elsewhere.
