What would make the alliance more popular?

But the damage was done from day 1.
They made the Alliance looks quite…boring, from the get go.

In a time where the LOTR was coming out, the Alliance stood no chance.
Now with the Nightborne, I rarely play the Alliance and when I do, I mainly stick to my Night Elf Death Knight as it’s the only character that breaks the facade of the Alliance and it’s standard, bland principles.

that will fix the aesthetic casual appeal.

next a big nerf to horde racials  (50% or so)

faction balance fixed

The Alliance is getting a knock-off version of the high elves which is a compromise. Stepping back from the game for some weeks shows me how much we all are caught up in a rabbit hole and how unfair it is that the Alliance just got no real high elves despite being “claimed” to be the case.

Danuser said that you, the player, can play anything you want to be. Doesn’t change the fact that the Alliance don’t get High Elves, they get Void Elves with fair skins. What a rip-off.

According to the online site Silvermoon still has 25k alliance players and only 800 horde players. Where is the alliance dying? What servers have had mass transfers?

When we still had realmpop we could see the divide was around 55/45% divide H/A. Sadly that site doesn’t operate anymore when the API got changed.

But all the realm population indicators we can see show various Alliance realms are still thriving. The issue is high end raiding is slower on Alliance than Horde. You can see this via the Hall of Fame. Mythic cross realm can’t open up until both factions have filled 100 guilds killing the last boss on mythic difficulty. HoF is filled from all regions.

Alliance guilds find the grass is greener on the other side, so they move over for the bigger pool of raiders, choice of guilds, more people doing higher m plus keys etc.

is that the horde biased, sylvanas obsessed ‘‘dev’’ that people made a thread about last week?

I personally would never switch, but my aesthetic preference has been for the Horde since the very beginning.

I wouldn’t mind Blizz offering bonuses or advantages that would tempt some big raiding guilds/plenty of players over to Alliance though.

I think it would be healthier for the game if we had a good population on each.

Blood Elves. And no void elves are not the same, even now with more skin options.

Well they tried giving them 30% extra warmode stuff, the Horde’s most popular race, free normal raid gear every week and butchering the Horde’s story to the point where only masochists want to play it at this stage. So… I don’t think there’s anything they can do aside from preventing people from making Horde characters until balance is restored?

You don’t think that’s a slightly unrealistic and unfair suggestion, to lock everyone out of creating Horde characters?

blackjack and hookers

If Goldshire isn’t generating more Alliance players then I fear that plan wont work.

Well, i think the 30% was a necessity because of the problem, not an attempt to fix it… and I don’t think they intended to butcher the horde story, i think they loved the horde so much and tried really hard to make it amazing and ended up making it terrible…

you know like sometimes how you try really hard to do something, but over think it, over analyse it turns out a lot worse - well that’s what’s happened with the horde, it’s not an intention to weaken it.

The problem is the alliance needs strengthening imo. Compelling reasons for people to go there.

They ened to be attractive, and do the things the alliance does best. Which in my opinion, is they should be the faction that shows the best of human and elves.

So while the horde has humans and elves in the form of Forsaken, blood elves and nightborne - these are alliance based races and the alliance versions should outshine the horde ones. The horde should have great Orcs, Trolls, Tauren etc, those races should be show cased and should not be outshone by elves and humans.

Which is what has happened really, the forsaken, the blood elves and the nightborne are really the best aspects of 3 alliance races. Forsaken got the famous Lordaeron kingdom and it’s legacy, the blood elves got the high elves and their legcay, the Nightborne got the night elves and their empire - change that.

Downgrade the forsaken, blood elves and Nightborne from Lordaeron, Silvermoon and Suramar, upgrade the Night elves and the Void elves/high elves from being homeless to either claiming their heritage cities and civilizations . e.g. Night elves should have druids and sentinels, forest parts but also mages and demon hunters like highborne/moonguard and Illidari. The strongest elements should be visible there on the lalinace, not via the Nighborne or the blood elves.

Same for void elves high elves.

I would make the blood elves and nightborne lose or share both Silvermoon and Suramar - and having to start anew in Kalimdor, and be behind the orcs, tauren and trolls who already have great cities there which i would improve.

meanwhile the alliance takes over Lordaron, Silvermoon and the Suramar.

I would greatly expand the Mag’har orcs, Highmountain Tauren, Vulpera and Zandalari too in addition to the Darkspears and orcs, and likely give the horde the Sethrak and the alliance the Jinyu - gilgoblins become a goblin cusotmisation.

The point is Forsaken, nightborne and blood elves remain on the horde, but they are secondary secondary to night elves and void/high elves and secondary to orcs, tauren and trolls.

The alliance leads for elves and humans.

A cute furry race. Worgens are not that cute. We need something more cute than hordes Vulpera.

Meh, I’ve always chose the side with the bests chicks. That’s the Alliance. No improvement needed to me. Too many testosterone in the horde. I don’t like sausage parties.

If this held true, Alliance would be populated as hell soon with the addition of a 20skin color Voidelf that even comes with it’s own animated hair and a bunch of allies demanding Belf hairstyles n colors so yah there ya go, Oh and the bee mount <3

Dazalor is tragic, when we look from rpg perspective meybe looks cool but to every day use it’s annoying.

All i see in this post is alliance players wanting horde to loose all their elfs, and pretty cities, and alliance getting everything. The saltyness of horde having blood elves is real. What good would that do youd get more casuals and rpers who will not help you with high end content. Mythic raiders and such honestly dont care what they look like as long as they perform (most of the times)
Why do you people even care if some guild has beaten some mythic raid first. Arent you playing this game for yourself? Unless you are planning on joining those guilds why do you care? There are plenty of servers that are alliance dominated and if you cant find 1 guild that does m+ and raids there im sure the problem is on your end then.

Because good players dictate how good the races usually are, if you like it or not. The Alliance seems to be “strong” but then again, why isn’t anybody playing them? Because of the negative feedback loop, the dominating racials, the lack of Alliance-pride, the bad storytelling and how people are mocked by the developers for playing the Alliance.

Everything feeds in. The helves would be just a signal to see that Blizzard “cares” about the Alliance. And my apologies to rub the salt into the wound but you’re actually not playing a Silver Covenant High Elf which are still exclusively linked with the blue team. People want to use the tabard/mount with them. All what they want is to have blond hairs like the NPCs.

And they will get them.
