When will the alliance finally lose?

Considering she was so far away from the line of succession as to have no claim to the throne of Quel’Thalas, I don’t think she was Kael’thas’ niece. But she is still a Sunstrider.

The main line of Arathor hasn’t ruled anything in the Arathi Highlands since 1800 years prior to the First War.

That is by definition not a retcon. A retcon would imply they are retroactively changing this, but Marran is an addition to the lore. She is no more a retcon than both Arthas and Calia were.

Galen was Thoras’ son, not Danath’s. Neither were ever stated to be the last of the Trollbane family, the closest to that is Skuerto’s line in Cata wanting Danath to return from Outland.

He’s probably in his 60s, so not too old in the slightest.

So they magically sprung up from the earth with no mothers or grandparents to speak of?

We don’t at all. For the Wrynns we know Anduin, Varian, Llane, Barathen and Landan. That’s hardly a full “familiar tree of the Wrynn family”, of the Proudmoores we only know Daelin, Jaina, Derek and Tandred. For Greymane we only know of Genn, his father Archibald and Tess and Liam.

Not counting the wives, of course, as they married into these houses.

They did with Tess and Liam, they did with Mia, they did with all of the families of these royal (noble in the case of Proudmoore) houses when the time came to expand on their lore.

I don’t know where you are from Twili, but as a quick example of this, there are 63 people in line to the British throne of succession and that includes the King of Norway.

We just have to assume these two are direct descendants of Igneaus.

Stormwind was founded during the gnoll wars less then 200 years ago. Rastakhan was already king when they defeated the gnolls.

My dude you are aware they will no longer marry him to a younger woman yes? That is not possible in todays worls. Especially after GOT opened the eyes to people why feudalism is infact bad.

According to the Internet, my country’s king is 1201th in line of inheriting the British crown :smirk:

We’re kinda a big deal!

The main line of Arathor is Thoradin Lothar’s line, not the Trollbane line is what Alannyse meant.

What are you sniffing? Stormwind wad founded 1.200 years before the First War.

Maybe not, maybe he already has a couple of sons that also serve in the military like him and thus can’t be regents!

looks to Arathi empire Might get some reveal soon there.

There were basically a city state around SW and only after beating the gnolls they could expand.

I hope so! With Marran introduced future conflict is guaranteed!

Nonetheless, the Kingdom of Stormwind is 1.200 years old!

We have to realise WOW writers are not Tolkien. They can’t pump out entire family trees until it matters for the current plot at hand.

They are. But they are not the main line of Arathor, that would be the line of Thoradin which as far as we know is extinct in the Eastern Kingdoms and not the ruling family in the Arathi Empire as the Lothars appear to be a ducal family as opposed to the imperial family.

The Gnoll War, not wars, was fought 75 years before the opening of the Dark Portal so roughly 116-177 years ago as of TWW. Stormwind was founded 1200 years ago and per the lore “rapidly expanded” from Elwynn into Westfall, Redridge and Brightwood and throughout those 1200 years gnoll tribes frequently raided travellers, caravans and the most remote villages.

It wasn’t until the reign of Barathen Wrynn, by which point Llane was already born, that all of the gnoll tribes united beneath one warlord and actually brought war to Stormwind.

After beating the gnolls Stormwind truly entered a golden era and grew to become the most powerful human kingdom, but by this time they had already expanded well beyond just Stormwind and was in terms of sheer landmass the biggest human kingdom. Remember that what is today the Burning Steppes was ruled by humans from Stormwind until the Dark Iron summoned Ragnaros 270 odd years ago.

That is in fact literally what I said.

Orcs first left Gorgrond 800 years ago means the development advantages of humanity are crazy.

No, it just means that Blizzard like countless fantasy authors have no idea how long of a time period that actually is.

Point is the humans had a lot more time to develop and builr their civilization while Orcs did’t exist so long due to Draenor being just recently touched by the titans. I am sure given the opportunity the Orcs might had eventually grown better too if the Legion never found them.

Better at murder, mayhem and slaughter yeah

Orcs only developed thanks to outside influence, else they’d still be living in the orcs equivelant of the stone age.

The murder didn’t start until the demon corruption. Stay to the facts. Also this is quite the double standard here considering that humans were barbarians too before the high elves aided them.

By jove, this man is right!

Shoot the savages! 'Tis for good of all that the brain must not develop!

Pow!

High elves had very little to do with the evolution of humanity and the bloodlust is inherently natural to orcs. Most of the clans did not need demonic corruption to murder.

Only after the troll wars they started building real cities before that the humans were cavemen. Your cope is unreal considering you try human supremacy here. Just like Garithos lol.

Man, the draenei must be happy to hear that.

Oh wait, they didn’t need demon corruption to start murdering, graping, enslaving and destroying draenei.

Stromgarde is a real city and predates the Troll Wars. Only after the humans started building cities and became an unified empire did the High elves ask for help and the actual Troll Wars start (Troll Wars is the conflict between humans and high elves VS Amani empire).
