When winning Battlegrounds becomes impossible

Having played blitz for some time now, I am convinced that rated solo RBGs are never going to work and should not be implemented.

There’s just too many bad players, trolls and AFKers to ever make it work. You’re, of course, also entirely reliant on the comp that’s being put onto you. Having a rating depend on how trash your teammates are, and on the RNG of the setup of the teams, is toxic as f.

You’re arguing with the mafia. They’ll literally look you dead in the eye with a straight face and tell you that the sky is green. Save your braincells and report them for avoiding restrictions.

TIL posting pictures of mammal’s genitals is allowed.

Hopefully the MMR will actually work, but since SS has proved they’re not very good at making MMR work, I too, have my concerns.

Does anyone else have feeling that you play with bots??
Like, people who dont do any damage, even tho they pvp. they dont cap flags, they dont talk in bgs… Just lost bg, god know what in a row, and we had 1 man more then opposing team…
So, what is happening in bgs?

After playing quite a few blitzes, I don’t think it’s going to work. I think it’s going to be more toxic than SS.

bro still need that bnet.

When people want to duel, that’s one thing, people want to jump straight into that.

It’s when people need to gear to duel that is always the design flaw.

It is a pain when you need to queue for a bg that could last an hour (queue and playtime), just to lose, and get nothing or near nothing out of it, making you queue again for another hour for the same thing.

It is the famous counter-intuitive systems of Blizzard entertainment, similar to Ahead-of-the-Curve gating, where first you need the achievement, but you get gated to get it because you don’t have it yet.

Gladiator points annoy people with that (specially if you wish to do it on alts). First you need good gear to be competitive, but you need good gear to win to be competitive in the first place or you get nothing, else you need to be carried.

This turns into hours of pure torture of loss after loss.

This is why I love classic. The BG’s are moderately active but AV is very active and even if you lose, you still get loads of honor which goes towards rank which in turn gets you the gear you need.

A loss in retail should net you the same honor and conquest as a win, but winners should get the chest. That’s about it, that would help the gearing situation and imbalances

u have it, im just always offline for work

And when you finally got all gear and BG become somehow bearable and sometimes fun… You have no more reason to play it, because rewards are just a joke.

Ideally there should be fully standardized gear for everyone on Blitz and really useful rewards, usable for other game activities. So people can farm BG with less stress and more sense.

15 epics this week, 3 wins (horde)

and around 20 Blitz’s without a single victory.

Frustrating.

I don’t run BGs for any sort of reward. I do it because I enjoy PvP more than PvE and if I have fun in BGs well then that is reward enough for me.

Back on topic. I don’t think winning is impossible. If you factor out queue sync premades (not all premades are bad) win rates are about rng on who is on your team. I have been matched with so many questionable healers or dps these past few days and it is almost triggering. Equally, I have been matched with amazing teams who just get it.

It all balances out and eventually your win rates/rating will reflect your skill level.

Seriously though, Blizz just do a halfway to FFXIV and randomise what faction premade groups are placed in.

If you also queue Blitz and loose, which is cross faction… then the only 2 explanations are that:

  • You have VERY bad luck with team comps.
  • You somehow cause your team to loose every game.

In your defence, ONE player rarely do so bad, to cause every match to be a loss… So it is 99% just VERY bad luck in your case. :+1:

Yeah, I had a bad streak two days ago where I was matched with people who had no clue about doing damage, what to cap or how to heal. It happens with blitz.

The problem is when you play for a “reward” in a virtual game, instead of simply playing to try to win for fun like someone playing a basket game on the street.

Following the logic of your comment, why do you play world of warcraft? If it doesn’t give rewards in real life and on top of that you pay to play.

How about rewards for Dungeons and Raids?

Following the logic of your comment there should be no valuable (in game) rewards, because people playing it for a fun!

It’s so endlessly dumb to try to shame people who want to obtain in game rewards and progress while you playing the same game with us.

I don’t do raids or dungeons. Saying that there is no point in playing bgs because they don’t give rewards is absurd. If your only reason for playing the game is the virtual “reward”, you better save paying month by month and buy a tangible and physical “reward” in the real world.

The reward should be an extra, not the only reason to play the game and that once you have obtained it, or in the absence of its existence, “there are no more reasons to play”.

Your point of view on Bgs is that they are a stressful farming place whose only purpose should be to give a good reward. In that case, I recommend you play Rated Bgs.
