Setting doesnât have to do with anything about popularity, streamling does tho, delivering story in consistent narrative for example, but âhow many books writtenâ no one cares about it, bg3 is set in forgotten realms, one of the oldest dnd universe that has much more bloat than wow, no one cares, people understand basic fantasy stereotypes and beyond it just fluff and fun facts that your friend can tell you on discord being fan of dnd/wow/warhammer
Not much⌠From my view it seems everybody is ready for a refreshing new MMO experienceâŚ
But allot of people want to defend the old. Pretty much.
That sentiment is ironically your own doom though.
You need your fellow WoW players to stick around if you want WoW to continue being WoW in the future. It is dependent on its own success. And itâs not going to be successful if players leave.
Everybody wants something new but a lot of people donât?
Oh of course. However, I completely and utterly disagree that putting horrendous systems into the game is going to get more people to come (back) and play it.
Iâd rather it peter out and die off than to have it ruined to the point of me hating what it became. If Iâm being honest.
Worst are the ones where you drop everything when you die. I turn that off if I can. Or I die once, lose all my stuff and never log back in again.
Okey let me rephrase that Allot of people are ready for something new and refreshingâŚ
But allot of people believe in the old and what makes wow currently good as well. And wants things too remain that way.
Gaming on a phone freaking sucks⌠how do people enjoy it? End up getting clawed hands after a session.
It made every realm have the option for all players to do warmode/pvp instead of being locked to pure PVP thus opening it up to a broader player base. Lets face it PVP realms had been unbalanced since late TBC.
Ah, yeah⌠Iâm open to new things in WoW. But Iâm not open to those new things being something I completely loathe.
So, I suppose Iâm on both sides of that debate.
We are currently at a WoW2? Yes or no? Stage
In order too keep up with the future. And other future coming mmoâs
Ah. Well; Iâd prefer a better WoW than a WoW2.
If both could exist alongside each other, that would be awesome, but that would be a weird business move on Blizzardâs part, I suppose.
Youâre not against everything new. We have change all the time in WoW IMO. Otherwise the game would be just like Classic. Thankfully itâs not. The game has evolved over time.
Now we may not like everything they do but to me instances are a big staple for MMOs. They have raids, dungeons, battlegrounds, arena. Seems to be the basis of just about every MMO Iâve played. There is PVE instances and PVP. WoW varies the instanced content with extra stuff too, just off the top of my head weâve had Scenarios (going back to Remix I do not miss those at all), Island Expeditions, Horrific Visions, Warfronts etc.
But I agree with you, the formula is the same. We have seasons, we have patches, raids come out, new content is added etc.
But thatâs the 80/20 approach that Blizzard have always used. 80% old and 20% new. Every expansion has this. The Garrison, Warfronts, Artifact Weapons, Myhtic+ Dungeons, Heart of Azeroth, Torghast, Soulbinds, and so on. Itâs all new systems, and those 20% new are supposed to try and convince the unhappy players to stick around and try out the new stuff whilst the happy player (you) remain satisfied because 80% is still the same.
And whether that 20% new is any good is always in the eye of the beholder. Sometimes we think it is, sometimes we donât. But itâs never more than 20%, so it never rocks the boat enough to change the general design of what WoW is. Itâs the same 80% in each and every expansion.
Welcome to the thread Tah xD enjoy the bombardment.
Everybody wants too hear your view
Did you have to mention these?
Iâm not sure those percentages are entirely accurate, but itâs a pretty fair assessment.
So that brings me to the question: Are you in favour of a higher percentage of change, then?
I like (some) survival games but i dont think id like wow as a survival game.
Where? What? Who said that?
The op suggested it, making wow a survival mmo.
