Where did the MMORPG part of WoW go?

Because this is a retail thread and I’m helping people understand what it is that makes us Classic rats flock to Classic instead.

Good for you but retail has a different audience. So creating “WoW Classic with SL maps” will only scare off like 90% of the retail player base

and invite in an even more significant portion of potential players that want to play an mmorpg which isn’t entirely focused on the end-game

I have never tried Classic and have no desire to go and struggle over there and there are other people that feel the same. People in retail just need more time to do what the want to do in-game and not have it flooded with some sort of endless farm to try and keep them busy.

Blizzard just give us some time to have fun doing what we want to do in-game and people will have time to communicate and do stuff they want to with their friends.

Blizzorg wants WoW to be e-sports so no mmorpg for you

Well I have tried both retail and Classic so my point of view has a wider scope

A huge gamble and risk. People leaving if retail becomes Classic 2.0 is highly likely. But people returning. Well the “12M” peps from Wotlk did NOT quit solely cause WoW sux. There are vast reasons. Starting from issues with WoW, ending with real life.

So Blizz has to gamble. Losing the current playerbase of retail for maybe attracting more peps. Well. Its less hassle to just pull the plug and be done with it…

There’s no need to gamble, they can look at all their Classic numbers and what people spend a significant portion of their time actually doing in the game

With the launch hype or after the so called “tourists” left?

I don’t want to embarrass you with the statistics

I know what I did to get my self some time to actually play the game the way I want to. Here is what I do, ssshhhh it’s a secret so don’t tell anyone:

I stop doing expansion story line stuff as soon as I get flying and then do the stuff I find fun.

Leveling alts, pet battles and even a little RP on the side.

Aha. Statistics:
Classic: A lOt of PLayArz
Retail: No

Source: Classic player Critzer said so. So its 100% true!

Indeed. Please don’t with your statistics.

Copium too stronk

Whisper: They all go to Classic until they find out how much it sucks and then come back to retail.

Remember Retail was Classic a very long time ago and it was made better over the years. Lately it has just changed into World of To-Do List but Blizz will fix that at some point.

PS. Remember a very long time ago when Blizzard brought out their “new” expansion for WoW “The Burning Cruisade” and every one was so excited. Well it’s happening again in Classic. In about 15 or 20 years from now you will be playing BfA again in Classic. “Thoughts of dread just filled you right?..”

Provided that WoW is still up and kicking by the time we get “BfA classic” :D.
And before you say. No. I am not part of the Doomsayer cult so wont preach that “WoW is dying” mambo jambo at you.
It simply comes from a conclusion that every product sooner or later will eventually reach its end and gets shelved. I am not expecting WoW to be still up at my retirement age or anything so it will someday go into history books.^^

Becouse handling a raid of 40 people would kill the computers of most people.

And that’s the problem.

WoW should evolve into something better NOT regress and devolve into HUB MMO for people who don’t have time to play MMO’s in the first place so they force developers to ruin the game with “zoomer updates”.

The audience they cater is the one that bring them more $ like every other company in the world.

For what I know I can’t make a game with tap water and soil yet.

I know, but I will try and enjoy it for as long as it keeps going. I just want 3 things from WoW for now:

  1. More time to do things I want to do and not what they want me to do.
  2. Vulpera Druids. Man I want to get rid of this Cow.
  3. Class changes so I can change my 4 professions mages into 4 Vulpera Druids or 4 BM Hunters (I like those BM Hunters too).

You don’t need to cater to casuals and produce mediocre crap to have healthy game/business :man_shrugging:
