"Why are there no Healers?"

Just for the record, until I felt that you were treating me like some clueless newbie, i dodn´t check your profile either.

OK, so it was a language issue, and I can accept that, nor harm, no foul… and also,. now that I know that you tend to use “you” in a general way, it´s also easier to deal with it and just remember that you may not be speaking about “me”, but “players” in a general sense.

Yes, I think we can work together here… Because we do generally agree on most things, but I truly did have the impression that your statements were generally directed at “you”, that being whoever you were responding to, as opposed to using the word “players”, which as a result came off as you constantly trying to “teach the clueless newbies replying to me”, so to speak :beers:

Sorry for all the commotion folks, but sometimes you just gotta knock the table over for people to realize that something not quite right

My profile is not extraordinary anyways. Especially since I took a break for the past 2 months, so you wont find any amazing runs from this season.

I am having a blast in Darktide though. There is a new mode there with is a carbon copy of M+ and its really entertaining. Although it needs a lot more polishing.

You are welcome to play with me if you want.

Knock the table and don’t say sorry. When you are right you are right. And when I am wrong I am wrong.

There is nothing wrong with saying “sorry I meant something else”.

Thanks for teh invite, but to be honest, I`ve never really enjoyed Mythic+… I might still get the mount this season just because it´s a mount, but that´s it. I did 7 runs before the first raid night and haven´t touched it sinc, because I´m tired of playing the vault lottery for upgrades I don´t really need… If we finally start to progress into M raiding instead of just farming Heroic to the point where we´re literally trying to kill each other to make it entertaining, I´ll get better gear that way

And I´m going on a 2 week vacation on the 3rd… need to remember to lock the server room and hide the key so some intern`s coffee doesn´t become a reason for my phone to explode on the beach when 2 million people can´t play because the Login server is high on espresso

Darktide also has a soloQ mode. Its really entertaining to be honest. But hey. Im just a 40k fanboy so I have some bias built into my statements. Let me know if you change your mind.

As for not liking M+, that is fair. Not everyone has to like it to be honest, and I am glad that you dont have to farm it to get your gear. I hate raiding though. I find it super boring.

But I agree the vault sucks. I would like the vault lotery to be improved for those of us that do not mythic raid. Its a real drag to roll the dice like that.

I understand the appeal of Warhammer (and lets be honest, Original Warcraft is just a Warhammer RTS masquerading around in a Midieval fantasy world because they couldn´´t get a license, so they had to write their own lore, instead) , But I was always more of a D+D + Battletech geek. I did earn quite a decent bit of cash on the side painting hyperrealistic 40k miniatures in college, and teh lore knowledge that came with was basically what allowed me to get into gamedev in the first place at the first studio I worked with…

Funny side note, they too were denied a license for that game by GW and turned the resulting product into their own successful franchise for a while, which was actually before Blizzard was Blizzard. But the company was :poop: and I´m glad I dont work for them anymore :beers:

Might be interesting to try it out just for old time´s sake, thanks for the tip

So you are a game dev. Interesting. I thought you worked in IT. You would have a unique perspective on many of the issues in wow.

What do you think about key depletion from a game dev perspective?

You mean FatShark? Im pretty sure they must have the rights to 40k, plus the GM logo shows up in the loading screens. Darktide literally copies the 40k lore and characters. They would be flooded by IP infringement lawsuits by now.

No, not Fat shark, this literally 30 years ago, before Blizzard was Blizzard, I edited my statement to avoid confusion. They´re still around but the product hasn´t seen an update /new release in almost 20 years

In the end all IPs are copies of copies. WoW copies GM. GM copied Tolkien. And Tolkien got his inspiration from somewhere else for sure.

Very true. Though WoW is a completely different beast from anything GW ever produced, wanting to make a Warhammer RTS but then being denied was just the initial spark that led to the creation of the warcraft universe we know today. But you can still see the roots a bit when you play WC1 :beers:

I´ve actually had an idea for something completely new, and totally blasphemic but in a way I personally find absolutely hilarious for quite a few years, but I need to get around to working out the details so I can pitch it some day… long story short: all you know about the universe and creation is a lie, no matter what you believe. :stuck_out_tongue:

But the resulting gameplay would require a truly god-level engine that makes the gameplay capabilities of unreal, Frostbite, warcraft, Unity, or literally any other currently available engine look like a cheap party trick, and it may not even be suited to a non-VR environment as a result of some of the ideas and how their interactions are “planned”, like one minute you´re playing something like NMS/Star Citizen, then suddenly that "chapter /mission ends and seconds later you´re in a completely different environment commanding soldiers or sitting in a Formula1 car that´s already going 250km/h… again, just an idea that´s been bouncing aroung in my head for what feels like infinity

Absolutely. And if you check out the art work and minis of GW in the 80s when it was new it was clearly a lord of the rings spin off. And over time it evolved. Just like WoW.

Let’s not pretend you can’t do 10s going pack to pack lol

That sounds interesting! It somehow reminds me a bit of the movie Memento. Curious what the concept looks like in your head

Well, for starters (but this is also where I´m gonna stop talking about it and also stay intentionally vague, because it would start to reveal actual concepts that someone else might swipe for their own, the entire 5 minute intro cinematic is already finished in my head and just needs to be put into blender by someone with art skills…):

Foer example, Yes, teh Big Bang happened. But how it happened, what actually caused it, as well as why the universe is accelerating, are explained and have absolutely nothing to do with any accepted scientific or religious concepts

I won’t quote anything, in case you prefer to remove it again later, but I’m intrigued!

I think I kept it vague enough to not spoiler anything or give anyone too many ideas (though I may still decide it was too much later, so ty for not quoting it), but yeah, no more info from me until I at least have a freaking design document worked out

Actually, on second though, it almost does give too many ideas…I´ll truncate it…

You can. But then you will figure out that 1 swirly or 1 missed kick chunks 80% of someone’s life. Not to mention bosses.

And those things happen in the PuG scene. And healers that have practice in crappy situations on the way to that +10 will not find those things surprising and will be able to deal with them with ease.

Tanks only care abut themselves, they have too many cooldowns including powerful self heals.

Wow, this post exploded! Glad to see I’m not the only one with these thoughts.

We already killed 2 bosses. And I still was given the deserter buff, regardless.

This was just a Leveling LFD, the same dungeon I been doing since Leigon. I was leveling up an Alt. I know how the dungeon functions and how it runs. It was the others who didn’t and scattered around like they didn’t know where to go. I was following the tank because he was rushing. Next thing I knew, DPS were dying, so I rushed back to try and reach them, then they kick me.

You can’t always avoid a kick if your party is trigger happy on that front, but in general a healer has to be aware of where their party is and not just follow the tank, and I’m saying it because in a perfect world the tank should also pay attention to their party (that’s what I do), but many tanks don’t do that and just rush ahead without a care.

Most tanks can keep themselves alive and you don’t to pocket heal them all the time, and if they can’t then it’s on them for running ahead when they know they can’t survive solo. When a group splits it’s generally the DPS that need your help, not the tank.

Once I was play healer, in timewalking dungeon.

But npcs had broken, tank got 1-2 shots killed. (TWW after)
They understand this and not faulted me bad healer.
Knew NPCs was broken like this.

But, sorry your bad luck. Party must be very toxicty.
I dont understand how blizz cant fix like this tank and healer get more loves if better play.
If blizz heared players drama for tank or healer failed taunt or heal.
