I don’t even think it has to do with taste it’s a complete time waste.
There is a reason why blizzard makes stonks with their boosts now and then, especially in classic.
Leveling from 80-85 or in the future from 85-90 will take forever I saw people now that completed leveling from 80-85 even doe they started from the beginning of Cata Classic. Because that how long it takes for a casual to go through all this questing areas, doing all the professions and stuff.
So no way in hell after all of this he will decide to go trough all the hassle and pain again to level from 1-60 and then do all those expansion till 85 again especially with the Classic leveling system that took litteraly forever. Even on those 50% XP events that they hosted in P4 wrath.
It will take months. Cataclysm will stay only till early 2025 so he will miss all the Zandalar, Firelands, Dragonsaul and all other Patches just to continually level an Alt to 85 it doesn’t work like that anymore sry to bring it up to ya Classic Andy’s again.
Era in the other hand ended at level 60 that’s it, the probability that someone would level an Alt was way higher in 2004 then it’s today because the time span of those expansions where way higher then today also even back then there where people that didn’t even got to 60.
If Cataclysm would be the last expansion and it would be more like stay forever yes why not but not in a timespan of under a year.
For me levelling IS game. In Cata levelling not fun.
I’m no way a Classic Andy. I’m a levelling Andy. I liked Vanilla, I liked BC I liked Wrath exactly because levelling was fun - admitted less so in Wrath because of last patch made players OP. But in Cata … no, levelling no more fun at all.
So we somewhat agree in this, (i think you think levelling too slow, too tedious = waste of time. For me I think levelling too fast, too un-dangerous = no more fun - endgame is irrelevant to me so Cata can go dark place) but we disagree as to solution.
My solution is: Give 2 – or 3 better – Era servers to each expansion – also Cata when its days done.
I don’t really understand yours … maybe give all boosts to 80?
PS: I do not understand meaning of this:
I really try understand what you mean, but is hard with you writing for me hard to understand like quote here.
If you tell me in this quote: people are now level 85, who began with launch of Cata, and you later say it takes months … ? Which you mean of those 2?
I think you not realize that ALL levelling with Cata is sped up. “He” will no longer need to level Vanilla-like to 60, and then through BC and Wrath to Cata – In Cata “he” level in broken world and superfast.
Cata was being murdered by 2 things … archeology and deathwing spine. Deathwing spine mostly because prase take forever.
I dont care you feel less connected, you can always spam lfg chat and try find people. But purpose of LFR was always to try get trinkets, tiers before steping into raid and actually seen raid with little effort geting right ilvl to que. Since system is like that no one will inspect you, looking for logs. So everyone have fair chance to enter in raid without masterloot etc
The classic experiment was certainly really interesting. going through all the older expansions we can see why exactly blizz did all the decisions which leads us to retail.
why did blizzard invent Dungeonbrowser? Because low pop servers having a hardtime doing dungeons at all. in worst case scenario you are forced to pay a transfer in order to do dungeons properly. Infact the less populated servers realized it and asked blizz to introduce lfg browser again in wotlk classic.
Why did blizzard invent warmode? Because back in the days all the pvp servers freaking died and become a monofaction server. which happened this time again but faster. I certainly choose warmode over dead wpvp.
Was it? I do level a warrior in Cata (level 42) and I don’t think I outleveled any zone I was in despite 10% Exp Perk and using dungeons whenever I feel like it. I know TBC and Wrath were clinched. And I did get 85 halfway through Cata zones but again was doing dungeons very often and it still took me almost week.
That’s TBC through Wrath. And it’s nothing special. Leveling in TBC was already accelerated during Wrath since with solely questing you’d hit level 68 by third zone and on my Main i didn’t even leave Hellfire Peninsula due to utilizing Dungeons.
Maybe, maybe not. It’s definitely more streamlined with zones more strictly adhering to more narrow Ranges. You certainly didn’t need to level in all zones even back in Wrath. Certainly missed more than 60% of content and quests as my Paladin the first time around since I was blindly moving from Zone to Zone looking for something level appropriate to do. And I didn’t exactly have fun. Quests throwing me across continents unsuspected and unexplained difficulty jumps between Quests (Hillsbrad Foothils questline). It was confusing never knowing where I can go or where I should go.
Here you prove Peridós wrong with whom I was discuss time of level in Cata
And we differ.
I love not know where to go. I love non-streamilned levelling. I love levelling take months, Is solely matter of taste. I NOT like Cata levelling, I like Vanilla, TBC and Wrath Levelling.
And if maybe-maybe not is for levelling speed 1-70 of course is also sped up - why else Kaivax say:
That’s a Perk you’d get in a guild back in Cataclysm and became a permanent addition for Cataclysm as they wanted to limit the guild perks oppressiveness.
But compared to Joyous Journeys being active everytime we were getting a new patch? It’s not really much.
And yes we disagree on that. For me the feeling of being lost was too much at the wrath start especially since I wanted to experience the Endgame.
I know it was Guild Perk -. I played back then. Case is we all got it now, same as Rep bonus, Durability bonus, Honor and Justice Point bonus, Vendor price bonus, Skill increase bonus, and Gathering bonus.
All were Guild perks you had to earn back in OG Cata. … We still are still given “You think you want OG Cata, but we know you don’t” treatment!
But is neither here, nor there, The remade world’s Questing layout, you being OP and able to pull multitudes without dying, and upgrade Q-rewards make levelling 1-60 faster than in Wrath. You will experence endgame, no worries - unless of course you like me not play new-Cata
From what I know it’s because the guild perks were pointed out as one thing the “community” wanted fixed as it promoted giant “leveling” guilds which were essentially just ignoring their members and were made solely for the perks
Which again caused by too big servers from Blizz’s part.
Could been fixed by proportionate demands for Guild perks … or by make ALL dependant of join Guild. Instead now they forced on us.
