Draenei Shaman - because when I first started WoW I liked the idea, lore and aesthetics, and wanted to roll shaman. I really loved my first ever levelling experience on Azuremyst Isle.
Since then
I love Lightforged - again for lore an aesthetics, and really wanted to race change my shaman with a backstory that I got to Argus and underwent lightforging - but to no avail as not possible.
Void Elf shadow priest - makes so much sense thematically and aesthetically.
Night elf druid - cliched but again story immersion
Warlock changing between Belf or undead. Have a velf one but dont play much
Mage - my mage started human for a long time, got kind of fed up with it and ended up lightforged.
Hunter - difficult for me as there are so many fantasies here"! Mechagnome with mechanical pets, undead with undead pets, classic nelf as a nature focussed hunter etc.
In short never have chosen for the racial, always for the overall feel of the game and for the toon Iāll be staring at for hours.
I chose my main first based on class, friend first recommended it since it was one of the easier ones to learn and Iāve come to like it a lot in end.
Second I picked the race, I did a lot of lore reading first and Draenei were my favorite aesthetically and based on their lore. And I do think that mail looks the best on them, especially females and well any gear looks great on them in the end.
That is true. Pretty much everything fits perfectly on draenei females (apart from capes, due to the tail), youād almost think theyāre used as the base model when armour is designed. Sadly thatās not the case though, they use human males, which is why we get stuff like racial heritage armour that is clunky and doesnāt fit like it should >.<
Aesthetics, how armor looks yes. Depends on the when for the rest, if you mean current main? I just love how fem pandas look in a lot of armor and in general, though I was really hoping for more customization in SL than what we got for BFA because we were one of the races to not get a model āupgradeā since release. Some of the lore is neat, but I guess aesthetics/how armor looks on them would be the main reasoning; and how much fun they are to roleplay on.
Yeah, forgot about Talador. That one is really nice as well <3 . And I had been a draenei main for a really long time. I have on my main server all draenei/lightforged draenei class combos, and all the draenei ones on argent dawn. Plus prepared for classic tbc with the names for my future toons I will play ^^ . I am happy that I finally found the race that fits me honestly and hope that we will get more stuff related to lore and more customization options in the future
This was my main for a long time, but now I mostly play a tauren druid.
I love night elves tho, they are my favorite race. I like how they look kinda different from the stereotypical fantasy elves. I love the night elf lore and aesthetics.
For my druid, I picked tauren as itās the classic druid race on horde, and they also have the herbalist bonus so it fits as iām a herbalist on my druid. My favorite horde race is orcs but since druids canāt be orcs I had to go with tauren.
Makes me wonder if Night Elves being ābouncyā is a factor for them being chosenā¦??
Iām not too keen on the Fire Mage I āinheritedā from my wife being⦠ābouncyā - and yes, Iām male.
When it comes to the Alliard Race characters Iāve created, Iāve not really thought about it that much; the ones I did āplanā are:
Dark Iron (Ret.) Paladin - a nod to Muradin (yes, I know he wasnāt a Dark Iron)
Vulpera (Assassination) Rogue - a role the NPC Vulpera seem to enjoy in Volādun
Maghar (Survival) Hunter - I created a female & called her Reginnar as a nod to Rexxar*
Highmountain (Balance) Druid - I had just unlocked the Highmountain Race wanted to see how Druids play, after years away from the Class
I have a Nightborne (Arcane) Mage & a Void Elf (WW) Monk, but they were just⦠āMehā options.
*@ me if you get why I chose the name.
