Why did you choose to play the race your main is?

IRL I am tall and when I was younger I dreamed of being small to average height. So I chose gnomes to live out the dream.

Can’t really tell why exactly I picked priest for main, but there are 2 good reasons I’m staying with it:
1: Is a clothie, which means a ton of great mogs I can use, be it class fantasy, faction pride or anything else.
2: I like the Light and Shadow theme, not just here but overall, that’s what my personality is a bit like as well, one moment I’m passionate and kind, but a few moments later, sinister and moody. Basically, a Dr. Jekyll vs. Mr Hyde kick. I mainly swap specs depending on mood.

If Vulpera could be Druid, I would choose that. They are by far the best race in the game. But I’m someone who likes playing animal-like races in general.

But since they can’t, I choose Zandalari. They have cool architecture. Cool looking males, and cool looking Heritage Armor. Also the oldest civilization in Azeroth.

I did main a “High elf” Hunter for a while, but the lack of customizations made me abandon her.

So yeah, Zanda Druid. But as you can see, I still haven’t gotten him to 60 yet

I choose Nightelf because they were the only race back in the day that could be a Druid. But i also loved the starting zones. Now i play nightelf whenever possible for every class main i have because of Shadowmeld. That racial is so nice to get out of combat whenever i feel like it

Hardiness too good.

Id love to have Hozen as playable for the horde.

Initially I choose belf for their looks. But by the time I hit level 20 I was in love with their culture, the architecture, the lore, etc. Eversong woods and ghostlands are still among my favorite zones, and everytime I visit them again, I time travel back 9 years, to a time where I had no clue about the game, but enjoyed every minute of it, slowly leveling my blood elf rogue.

Depending on my mood, I have multiple Alts
As a Worgen: Werewolves, duh! And loved the story of Alpha Prime; secretly hope one day we could chose to have a Night Elf alternate form instead of human to follow the Alpha’s pawsteps. Also, tail option would be nice. Till then, to be a Gilnean and its fills me pride to follow a king that said: “are you mad dude? You want to keep these savage, Demon worshipping aliens that attacked our world alive and want me to pay for it? My kingdom is out!”
As a Draenei: lore, history, the strong Vorlon/Mimbari vibe from B5 (well, the Draenei are are Mimbari and the Naaru the Vorlon, but still) and those space goat ladies are pleasing to the eye from behind (you know, in the game you see your toon 90% of the time from behind. Also, male Draenei don’t exist! ). Yes I’m that shallow. Sue me.
As a Vulpera: Im a long time fox/Kitsune fan and the Vulpera are something unique in WoW, we know so little of them, in RP you could make anything and it would work. But the og concept, the desert survivor badass foxes are basically Fremens on steroids from Dune and the whole race is just cool. Kiro for president!

Yes! Maybe some of the furries would migrate to the alliance! Eh I mean it would he a real shame to lose some of the Horde playerbase but such is the nature of things :frowning:.

Because I like committing war crimes.

Transmog is the only answer to this.

Cause orcs have been my main race since vanilla, didnt know about racials back then just thought they look badass

I chose Blood elf, because I play paladin, and I transfered it from horde.

It was either Tauren or Belf, and Belf seemed to have the most utility use for me with Arcane Torrent. It was a tough call tho

I am still waiting for Tauren Demon Hunters. :cow:

Well hum
The only other option wasn’t great let’s just say.

Arcane torrent. Or personal heroism. Not to mention a personal stat burst.

My original, first character on Retail was, still is, a tauren paladin. Why I choose tauren? Both because of the lore (tauren culture fascinated me around that time.) Out of the two options around the time Tauren also fit the prot paladin lore better (no offense, but while Belf fits the Ret and holy role they are just inferior to tauren when it comes to filling the prot lore aesthetically.)

Since as Ret it is quite problematic to fit into most rosters (my Horde guild’s melee roster is filled to the brim) I looked for ranged alternatives. Up until vulpera were introduced I have been playing a Highmountain Tauren hunter. I like everything on vulpera, and it was finally a race that I felt comfortable choosing when it comes to mages: their cast animations are spot on (taking plenty from goblins) and they were even given the flip animation during jumps, while most gear looks pretty decent on them.

If tauren would have the option to play mage this character would have ended up as one.
