Honestly? I do it because, in my opinion, gearing doesnt matter at all anymore. I dont care enough to socket something or enchant something that I might “outvalue” with a random casino win in some cache or some low key or something. Its a waste of time, money, effort and energy. Lets say I find a “special” little item that has a socket. Its iLvl 420 (is that good? I gave up on PvE, got no clue whats up). Next day, I do a random “kill X” world quest that titanforges at 9001 and has 15 sockets. Next day, it titanforges to 9002 with 14 sockets. F@ck this, I dont care. When Blizzard fixes the whole “gearing” situation, I will give a f again. Until then, this whole thing? I consider it a joke…
Edit: Im only speaking for myself, as someone who moved on from PvE, but I do believe this mindset is closer to a lot of people nowadays, even in “high-end content”. Blame Blizzard.

90% of the people thinking that also gets carried. But yeah sure if your putting up decent numbers without it, skip it.

It is more about mechanics than numbers, to be honest 
The TS talks about 430-440 ilvl. When you are not timing a +10 with a group of those ilvls it is not the missing enchants.
All the more reason to do everything to put up decent numbers.
Its never only about enchants. But inspecting a player that doesnt use enchants, flasks and such you know this person isnt a good player neglecting such a easy improvement to your dps.
In rare cases you got a good player that just cant be bothered but from my experience good players uses enchants.

But a +10… a +10?! with high ilvl. I… how can this stuff be important? We timed our first +10 (a +12 actually) with 420 ilvl this season in 2nd week, mostly because voidweek was the first week with the buff on the void instead of the debuff on the player and we were pulling back activating voids that were not skippable and got to max buffs. Otherwise we timed them below 420 ilvl in the first week without having essences.
Flabbergasted enchants are an issue
Whatever everyone thinks the truth is still the worse gear you have the more impact the buffs have on you
So like not putting on cheap gems and enchants on the gear is still a bad decision, so yeah a bit noobish

First off. Yes a +10 is a faceroll. But if your pug it you are most likely gonna have the keyholder who is undergeared that wants a boost. And its not a chocker if he invites other useless dps that puts up 10k. So why not use flask to get a little extra?
If you are doing a +10 with the guild and you know the rest of the group can deliver, yeah no need to bother.
I am part of failtrain, and i do all kinds of keys here or there with all kinds of players (that i am not even knowing that well). I even failed a KR 8 this week, but the thing is; this is not about enchants. It never is about enchants or flasks on those levels. Someone with 430 ilvl doing 10k is doing 10.2k with a flask. It is not helping.
How can u know it was not becouse of the enchants i mean the guy could be alot better if he cared.
Enchants is not making someone know mechanics. Someone dropping gold on the boss, for example. I think it had more impact not to do that and having to kill a boss with a big shield once in a while.
Well if the guy don’t even care about gear why would he even bother looking tacts and stuff up?
It was his first time there like also the tank his first time. What does it matter? We are a nice community where we help each other. We do not require a full month study per dungeon before being allowed in a run (especially when it was their key).
Edit: for the record; i just checked and they have enchants.

Dont play with people from a nice community? What is this nonsense. And they had actually enchants. Another argument for not caring about enchants on those levels.
If they had enchants and stuff i’m okay with it.
