nobody is having fun while leveling , its the reality , 50-60 is so horrible , thread of fate is the worst design ever , make leveling harder for alt ??? Blizzard ??? they should buff xp in zones when u chose thread of fate , so we dont have to spam dungeon with no brain and people wouldn’t tilt/be toxic , because people don’t skip etc
I have more fun leveling not doing skips because I find it more fun to kill 20 different bosses than killing the same 4 bosses 5 times, I have not leveled yet any character post BFA level revamp but before that, it was easily possible to level a character with dungeons doing only half of the dungeons and do not repeat a single one.
I enjoy more a fun BRD run than doing the boring skip to go directly to the fire elemental boss without killing any other singles boss. Fortunately, all my characters I have leveled recently are tanks, and most of the times as a tank if I start the path to no skip other players just follow me blindly, sometimes there is someone who complains that he wants the skip but given that most people just follow the tank and do not care that someone complained could be ignored or kicked. In the weird case there are 3 or more who do actually want to skip I just leave the group, everyone happy.
i dont know what is the name of the instance , but its a vanilla/cata dungeon with trees and u have to destroy 4 towers for the last boss , u have a quest that give like 1k xp instead of 3/4k xp , for this quest u have to kill 2 ‘’ boss ‘’ , 1 elf + bear and 1 elf in a library , and to reach both , you will lose like 8/10 mins +, so in total 15 min , this quest is not fun to do , and i already got kicked so many times because i skip this lol
I don’t know…I feel if 4 out of 5 ppl are alright with skipping then the last person should go with it. Though if he has a quest and needs x boss for it then he should mention this and people should be willing to help him with it…so it goes both ways imo.
You only lose 8/10 mins to complete the quest because that completion requires you to go back to entrance and then return to the elf in the library who is in the opposite site of the dungeon, but people do that after they have complete the dungeon, so if you have completed the quest or do not want to complete you can just leave the dungeon after killing the last boss, the other people could run throught the complete dungeon even being alone.
All the other optional bosses you are mentioning it makes no sense to skip because they are in the way you are required to go in the dungeon, the elf + bear are between two of the towers you need to destroy, even the library elf is just a few steps behind the last boss, is a long path to the library from the start but to kill the mandatory last boss you are required to do 90% of that path.
So I understand we people kick you for trying to skip it, because unlike other skips this you mentioned is totally useless.
the elf + bear are not between the tower , and this ‘‘boss’’ is overtuned xd , i have seen lot of groups wipe on this while leveling , so imagine you have to walk back upstairs zzzz , i dont want to take that risk for 1/4 xp of a normal quest .
Anyway for lot of people , leveling is not realy funny anymore , so we just min-max everything , its just a speedrun , so we can do torghast and 1 +14 keys before the reset , and you don’t lose 1 week of gear
It could be true, but never happened to me when tanking that dungeon, so in my case I have no reason to considered the existence of those wipes, I believe you that it could had happen to other people, but never to me.
I suppose the wipe could happen in case people pull the boss and the previous moob group at the same time, but with my playing style (I am not the type of tank that rush pulling everything), I usually pull that group and move them out of the boss path and I always pull the boss and bear alone, and that why I had never wipe.
I understand that people would want to skip for min-max purposes even if I don’t like it, but in this case, it is not just that I do not like this skip for min-max purposes, is that I don’t believe you are min-maxing nothing, it seems to me that you are skipping bosses with no purpose at all, I do not see any argument in favor to your skip. In other dungeons skips like BRD, I could see there are benefits to doing that even if it’s not what I like to do, but I can empatize with other people doing it, but in this dungeon I can’t.
Follow the majority, the majority is what decides what happens. It’s that simple, out of 13 characters leveled I have never had a majority of people that want to do all bosses if they dont have to, (hello PF)
Actually is follows the tank, not the majority. The majority actually does not care what happens, they just follow the tank blindly, because they don’t know the path or because they don’t care. That means if someone wants to level and do all the bosses the best would be to level a tank. People who complain against or in favor of skips in leveling dungeons are actually rare.
The tank goes for skips almost 99.99% of the time, and rightfully so
Yet, you didn’t say the tank, you said the majority want to skip, which is false, the majority does not care, the tank and the majority are two different things. That is the truth about skips, the majority opinion is not against skip nor in favor of skips, the majority opinion is indifference.
Even so, 80% of people know that 99% of statistics pulled out of nowhere as you did are false, I am also a tank I do not skip. Probably there are more tanks who like to skip than tanks like me but I do not believe is 99.99%.
EDIT: With the exception of BRD, even if I particularly like to not skip that dungeon from time to time when I have not been the tank this dungeons undoubtedly is the one where most tanks want to skip and when I am the tank usually this is the one with more chances for people to camplain if I try to no skip. For BRD I actually believe 99,99% tanks want to skip.
Just another “You can’t play your way! You need to play my way!” whining thread
People are so far up their own bums they don’t see the irony of their own actions
It is very incosiderate of you. Attitude like yours help drive away new players. You know nothing about that person and their reasons to wanting to do whole dungeon. And also you shouldn’t assume that rest of the people want to skip just because they don’t say anything. It is much more likely that majorty is neither in favor nor against skipping. They are just indifferent, they don’t care and just follow the tank. Just like with any population majorty is always in the middle.
Of course that mage isn’t without fault either. They should ask to do optional stuff instead of throwing tantrum and ninja pulling. But again I don’t think asking politely would work with you considering you sound like helping others is waste of time.
I myself hate skipping bosses in dungeons. When I level through dungeons and Lower Blackrock Depths comes out I dread because it will be that annoying skip to those 2 necessary bosses and ciao. I queue for a dungeon and want to do whole dungeon.
Some people haven’t played certain expansions and want to actually see the dungeons (I for myself would want to see the designs, mechanics, etc. if I went into some of the dungeons I haven’t seen).
On the other hand, I completly understand that the majority play those dungeons to get fast XP and I would not expect a slow run in LFG.
Good remark, I haven’t thought of those. This might be a great XP Boost for some players leveling. Even if they are out for fast XP.
This sums it up pretty good.
You’re ignorant. Several others have mentioned reasons:
- They are new to the dungeon and want to experience it
- They get more XP out of playing the dungeon because of wait times
- Quests give lots of XP
- The enjoy playing dungeons instead of leveling fast
If I understood correctly you play tank in most cases … most players just don’t want to loose the tank because if skipping bosses or clearing them, waiting for another tank might take longer than the whole dungeon.
I’d say that’s on the mage then. If the majority wanted to skip he should not be insulting anyone for that. But you should open your mind, that there are reasons players prefer to play the whole dungeon.
When leveling I avoid playing in random groups, because everybody seems to expect the way they want to play is the norm and if somebody wants to to different bosses or quests they get annoyed, but don’t communicate. (There are a lot of players that communicate when they level in groups, but I have had to many players that don’t to expect a joyfull experience.) I would adapt to most scenarios, but I am quickly annoyed if others start to offend each other about different ways to play, so I keep on questing/gathering/grinding for myself instead of grouping up with random players at my level (if in LFG or the open world).
If a group is going to skip then I’ll skip too. You get more EXP overall by doing skips as you can get more dungeons done within a timer period.
- Other quests, some even have class quests in dungeons still so remember that for later.
- They enjoy doing dungeons, and playing THROUGH the dungeon and actually just want to do all of it and enjoy their time while inside.
- It is more overall XP even if it’s probably less XP per hour if you’re dungeon spamming.
- Could want some gear/transmog while leveling.
Just make your own group to do all bosses or go explore at max level, not rocket science
Not everything is about efficiency. It constantly baffles me why the modern mindset seems to think everything in ALL games is measured by such things as ‘fastest route to X’ otherwise you’re just doing it wrong.
Just remember World of Warcraft is - supposed - to be an RPG. It ain’t like Counterstrike where it’s purely about skill kill-kill go-go. Though it seems the RPG has been very much infiltrated by such players-- another point I find odd because one would think they’d be much happier playing something like LoL or Counterstrike where there are no distractions of travel and world building.
As much as I dislike your play style in group content it is fair to go by majority vote.
just make your own group when you want to speed run dungeons, its not rocket science. works both ways.
In all fairness if one wants an even remotely enjoyable experience in any group content a friendly guild is required. Indeed it’s EXREMELY hard to find such guilds.
When a game is constantly being pushed further and further into go-go-go with things like Mythic+ it ain’t suprising a good portion of the playerbase plays it that way.
I just think there are ways they can have optional modes like HC layers or non-CRZ servers that would serve the tastes of people like me, who care much less about the endgame grind train.
Yea yea play Classic. Well, yes I do-- but I don’t see why the modern game can’t appeal to MMO RPG fans as well as stream ahoy Mythic+ go-go-go fans.
