When you mean real pvp you mean it’s more hardcore because one is getting punished harder if a fight is lost. It’s still far away from a competitive game.
Gz for being so hardcore
Gear is good so you can use less consumables to reach the same dps. Consumables are expensive especially if you have some wipes.
Also not everyone can clear the content in greens. Our guilds haven’t finished AQ40 totally, yet we are full of epics. Without items we would be stuck in some earlier boss.
Beating the final boss of the game as the final pve challenge? Once it’s done it doesn’t need to be repeated over and over for loot that gets devalued.
Speedrunning is a challenge i can also understand.
Well the gear is still going to be good for PvP. Also a lot of the pieces are actually still relevant until midway through TBC. People also have specific goals for their characters like getting 9/9 t3 even if it’s not actually BiS. And for speedrunners it’s pretty obvious why they’d want gear.
That’s the type of pve player i can’t really understand. If they are on a pve server and don’t speed run - why do they have this goal? Are they planning to do some bg’s eventually or do they just collect items so someone else doesn’t get them who would actually use them for something?^^
I’d immagine it’s for similar reasons people want to have all the mounts in the game (although there aren’t that many people going for it in Classic). Personally I don’t really understand cosmetics collectors but they do exist and there’s a lot of them.
To dab on lesser geared plebs
Well, you can gear up alts, dip into PvP, or just enjoy the raid for what it is. Personally I’d never keep farming something like Naxx, but TBC/WotLK are another story.
EDIT: You can also use the gear you get from the final raid(s) to try and challenge yourself in solo content. This isn’t exactly relevant in Classic, but in TBC and especially WotLK you can start becoming strong enough to actually solo content that previously needed multiple players - like old raids and such.
And, at the end of the day, nothing needs to last forever. Classic, TBC, WotLK… we’re talking several years in the future. Might as well decide to move on and do something else.
And I’m not talking about esports, why is so hard to understand?
Well for people that enjoys carebear pvp I don’t expect too much.
What makes you think i don’t understand the crap you put out here?
There isn’t much else to say for me about your comments ^^
The crap is thinking that carebear pvp is fun.
i am sure you know exactly what’s fun and what isn’t. Please tell us what we should do to have fun.
For sure not chasing someone for an hour and bragging it on the forum kek.
OP: Why do you need gear on retail? There is nothing outside of raids, dungeons, bgs amd arenas.
Why do you even need gear?
Why do you even play wow?
Why do you even play games?
Such a silly thread…
Damn, you’ve been 60 for a long time then. The forum sure is slow to update you
Naxxramas.
Try do it with greens.
Reading the thread I came to the conclusion that, you don’t need good gear, but it’s nice to have.
Why even play the game?
Only thing i see here are people crying they dont have gear
I use that power in Speed runs, also in BGs and wpvp, I like queing and smacking some low geared players in the head in BGs, fun times. BGs/Wpvp, speed running, none are content that give me any rewards, I do them for fun. But that is the beauty of Classic, you don’t need never ending carrot chasing, you can just log in and do some fun things that you enjoy doing. If carrot chasing is your thing than yeah, retail is the better option for you.
