I agree. WoW cinematics (real cinematics I mean) are awesome. I hoped to play with that kind of graphics some day since I saw it first time. Just watch WoW vanilla cinematic, it’s amazing but our computers are still weak and can’t render that stuff. May be one day.
I’m not sure if this post is supposed to be sarcastic, but I am 100% sure that Classic looks awful next to retail in pretty much every way.

probably out of nostalgia when you see classic that retail just doesn’t trigger and you then associate the good feelings you feel with classic and not retail to how the game looks because idk man I’m not your subconscious I don’t know how you work why are you even asking me this

It really does. I tried to play it a couple of years ago and I couldn’t deal with the geriatric visuals.
It might run better but it doesn’t look better.

Ironic. You’re posting a picture of a dwarf with ugly facial features. Oh yeah Classic uses different facial features while retail dont. Retail uses the same face template with no distinguish facial features like this.

Classic chars/spells also look much better then the new ones (imo), and the male walk also didnt look like some duck going forward

It’s because you can run classic on full ultra settings and your pc/laptop thinks nothing of it.
Try running modern wow with same settings and your pc tanks.
But go back to 2005 , with a 2005 mid to low pc and yeah you wouldn’t be making this post. That’s what the majority of us played on lmao

Retail has definitely better graphics from a technical point of view, this is not even a discussion.
What is discussable though is that the closer we get to realistic and more detailed graphics:
- the closer we get to the Uncanny Valley
- the more difficult it becomes to fill any “missing” information with one’s imagination
- the easier it becomes to notice anything that stands out
This is more evident in the cinematics.

I was happy to download classic to play for the nostalgia but I logged off the second I saw how ugly it was back then.
For real, you need eye-glasses.
