WHY EXACTLY ARE OLD ELITE PVP SETS UNLOCKABLE? ( GD repost )

Im sure most people would love to unlock them, and whats the harm of releasing like a 4 year old set?

I can understand challenge mode, but pvp rating isn’t an expansion feature, and you can’t say those pvp players worked hard and should be special and whatnot whereas people easily get old mythic transmog. Moreover, mythic transmog acquosition is much more relevant to the time period it came from, whereas all those elite sets are all acquired the same way, hugging those nagrand arena pillars and whatnot.

Players who didn’t play in Legion can get mythic sets but can’t get the pvp elite ones, what gives?

because they are earned through rating and the set is an expansion feature. only way i would accept an old elite transmog being unlockable is if the person got rank 1 or gladiator.

If one havent obtain it in the season, one dont deserve it in my opinion. See it as the “PvP curve bonus”.

Personally, I never understood this either. For instance (just to give an easy example that comes to mind) I don’t understand why can a one-time-only 2.2k Warrior from MoP Season 12 have access to a cosmetic reward that a multi-R1 Warrior cannot?

The term “Elite” is supposed to display “skill” after all, so it always felt weird to me personally to lock these rewards in such fashion.

I think you don’t see the OP proposal actual meaning: make your seasonal elite sets to be as available as mythic mog from last expansions.
Like 12 badges worth of a deal no current rating or maybe just current 1800 rating.
Would you support this suggestion as an arena player?

First of all “Elite” sets should be like title suggest Elite so 2.4k rating not this 1800 joke. If we get Elite rating we should be able to buy all old PvP sets imo. Or do something like that, current Elite set 2k rating but all old sets 2.2k or 2.4k etc.

I think they should remain unobtainable and they should introduce new class sets for 2k/2.2k

I always liked the idea that when you hit 1800 rating or 2400 rating each Season, then you get an Armor Token or a Saddle Token. And then there’s a vendor where you can exchange those for any Elite PvP set of your choice, or any Gladiator mount of your choice.

If you like the Primordial Drake mount, then you pick that, but if you’d rather have the Frostwyrm mount from WotLK, then you should be able to pick that instead.

And likewise, if you like the Elite Ny’alotha recolor PvP set, then you can pick that.
But if you’d rather have the Elite Tier 12 recolor PvP set from Cata, then you can pick that instead.

Choice is better than no choice. And it’s silly to give players a specific reward each Season that they might not be interested in, when you can offer them a selection of many rewards where they can pick the ones they actually think are cool and awesome.

So if you dont raid actual Mythic bosses in their time, you dont deserve their mogs. Right?

Imo everything should be available at all time, a lot of people like to collect.

But as said above you should do the requirements to get them.

Let’s say I want cataclysm mounts for example, I should be able to buy them with a special saddle when I got atleast gladiator.

That is a flawed logic. What does it matter what he’s doing now? If he did use to Raid back when other people didn’t, and now they have free access to the same mog pieces as him/her, then the point stands.
