Well, your opinion factually is wrong.
And that’s why its justified to devalue the whole game? Because Blizzard wants the money of players who already played the game a lot that they already think it’s tedious?
its not surprising - that’s how life is in general. It does not even matter how big the game is, even if only one player would play it, this person might not enjoy every part of the game the same way. So what really is your point? You want to skip to the fun part because you deserve it? Its like you pay a hooker to have sex. Skip all the boring/tedious part of finding a partner for an intimate experience. One of those two experiences seems more precious than the other, to me at least ^^
patches not only add endgame content - they also change existing - non-endgame content.
It’s also not a coincidence that with a new expansion, there are new leveling zones and more levels to do.
The players who think the leveling is tedious should stick with Retail wow. It’s exactly the kind of Fortnite players that destroyed legacy wow once, now they’re doing it again.
Like honestly, do you want people with that mentality in your game; no of course not. Boosted andies should stick with retail where everything is given for free and nothing matters. There is not 1 mount in retail that matters. There is no gear that matters. Gold doesn’t matter. Talents don’t matter. Pets don’t matter. Point in case.
The thing is, the 250hour grind to level 70 is a nice barrier to keep the toxic “go go go go go go retail / diablo” players far away from legacy wow. Well, not anymore of course. Now they can gogogo get their creditcard and swipe swipe swipe to lvl 58. TBC Classic is not going to the huge hit Classic was for this reason alone.
The people who don’t understand this, like Dottie are simply not made for Legacy Wow or any mmoRPG. They prefer hack’n’slash Diablo games. Nothing wrong with that. I like em too.
Why level when you can buy it off the store?
Why grind out mounts when you can buy it off the store?
Why grind gold when you can buy WoW-tokens off the store?
Why do content to gear up your character when you can buy WoW-tokens off the store and then buy gear on AH or pay for carry runs?
Why do rated PvP when you can buy gold and pay for carry runs? Oh, you don’t have to do this, though? True, but you meet these comps in arena all the time when you try to rank up yourself.
It’s also not a coincidence that with a new expansion, there are new leveling zones and more levels to do.
Because otherwise it would be just like new patches and they wouldn’t be able to sell it as expansions if there were no new zones. That doesn’t meant that people are buying it because they want to level those 10 levels tho… for sure not 20 times.
its not surprising - that’s how life is in general. It does not even matter how big the game is, even if only one player would play it, this person might not enjoy every part of the game the same way. So what really is your point?
Well I reacted to you saying this:
Its a way of them admitting their game is so bad that people want to skip a large part of the content.
Most people don’t enjoy leveling in the same zones doing the same quests for the 20th time, so maybe they are admitting it, but it’s not surprising to anyone.
And just like I wouldn’t be playing the game now if I couldn’t buy the 58 priest with 25 gold in the inventory and with green gear, you can as well not play this game if the boosts are ruining it for you that much.
This I can agree with. I see much less of a problem with say offering boosts in Retail because it’s an ongoing game for 15 years of so. You can only make leveling up again so fun so much. I would still prefer it didn’t exist but still. Retail is is more… Modern. More for the modern man and women.
Classic should’ve stayed classic. I mean it’s only 3 xpacs that people want to relive and even that is to much to ask to keep it as it was for the greedy goblins at Activision-Blizzard.
I don’t know how it “should’ve” stayed, but maybe if these things weren’t there, there wouldn’t be any Classic at all.
Reading is hard. I said IN GAME boost. You know, paying with gold? Waste less time trying to be smart.
Classic was always there. Just not officially. There will always be people who want the previous experience even if Retail Wow today was perfect and everyone loved it to death. That’s oke. It’s better that Blizz offers that service like now, sadly TBC Classic is tainted, it may not be completely ruined yet, but it doesn’t spell good news for the best and last good xpac coming to Classic. WotLK. Anyway I like to play old games from time to time. But ye. In the end I don’t know it as well, but I did learn from the mistakes with Retail. Boosts are one of those big mistakes.
Retail however, will never be repaired or good again (hope to be proven wrong). They’re just in the milking phase. Spending as little money as they can and gaining as much as they can. That’s why I’d like them to touch the classic games as little as possible – they cannot help themselves to ruin it.
That’s a very nice collection of mounts You’ve gathered. Store mounts included.
They’ve got some help from Your swipy card aswell.
But you are still here playing. They are making money and the game is still alive. I don’t know. Somehow it works
They sure did. I’m no saint. I’m EXACTLY the customer they want for retail. I’m not going to hide it. I spend over 600euros on wow tokens in 1 or 2 years during Legion / part of BFA maybe 700, god knows tbh, don’t really know exactly, additionally bought some store mounts and the blizzcon tickets, deluxe editions etc. That means I count for like 5 customers… That’s why wow revenue is up.
It worked in TBC Classic almost. I was very close to spending 70eur on the deluxe edition. But by some miracle some sense came into me at last.
I don’t own Shadowlands, I’m playing a bit of TBC Classic, but won’t stay long. I like reliving memories but I don’t wanna grind it out, again. It’s also that I can’t convince ANY of my friends to play either retail or TBC Classic with me.
Despite hating what wow has become; I am still the most likely person (out of my friends) to get into and still spend hundreds of euros in retail wow or classic whatever. As I said I am the perfect customer for retail. I never bought boosts tho with the gold. Only mounts lol. Was about to buy longboy for 350eur worth of gold but stopped playing LUCKILY they removed it. So now I can’t. /cheers.
It’s a grand generalisation of casual play. But it’s possible without quest addons, finding groups required for dungeons quests ect ect.
LoL. Value on time is strictly subjective. I could spend the time I play games, freelancing or furthering my business. But I don’t - because I place a higher value on free or fun time over servicing the needs of a business and or clients. By which I could double the income.
You also have a really warped view on money in general. No doubt living off the parent’s bank account with the weird unrealistic view on what money is worth. Sure to some £70 isn’t much, to others it’s a lot even in ‘developed’ countries.
& again, it’s important not to assume. People who arent buying the boost could be and probably are more sensible with where they choose to spend their money. They might prefer to put cash into brick and mortar. Making better investments with greater returns than essentially wasting it on something kind of pointless like ingame boosts.
Besides this is off topic completely - the issue in this threat is an opinion that boosts / ugly store mounts shouldn’t be available in a ‘classic’ era version of the game - it’s basically become TBC ‘retail’ which is totally against the point of why most people came back to play the versions of the game they liked most.
Sorry if i missed the memo, but… How exactly buying either boost to minimal entry level for an expansion or store mount is ruining game for others?
On other note - if we assume this kind of services as p2w mechanics, are there any non-p2w MMORPG’s left?
You can’t say that as I’m sure it’s part of it for some people, it’s either jealousy or anger.
I don’t understand, how does it devalue the game for you.
That is one of the worst comments I have ever seen.
How did a 2017 game destroy a 2004 game?
Really? You do know most of the TBCC mounts you go on about are in Retail too? So by extension no mount matters in TBCC.
So levelling an Alliance shaman though questing isn’t something I’m doing? You really do hate me don’t you? I’ve been playing this game a lot longer than you.
Because some people like levelling, others don’t like doing the same content for the 5th time.
YOu don’t need to grind to get your mount now, it’s foolish to think you do.
Not in Classic.
Yet when I say it you attack me.
Where do you buy the boost for 58, yes that’s right INGAME.
A hypocrite, that’s what it makes you.
Yeah, that’s what I said, you just want to do the same as the people you blame, but worse and even pay for it.
Not a good place to give lessons.
SO I must be imagining all those lvl30-38 players I have seen all day and the many groups I’ve formed at quest mobs…
There is no issue with boosts except in the heads of the ().
and this is a good summary. the sense of entitlement some classic players have is amazing- they seem to think they somehow own it and can dictate to everyone how it should be.
guess what? Blizz have left servers there for you to enjoy not going into TBC and no boost is available in the classic stay behind servers.
If you really can’t cope with letting others play the way they want, then go stay in the legacy servers, stop posting on the forums and spitting at boosted toons on the TBC servers.
