You enlighten me. I really don´t know how you came to a conclusion that for instance gear, gold or achievements have zero value and raids or m+ are unrewarding. Why do you think so? And how is is different from Classic? Isn´t T1 gear devaluated by much better T2? Isn´t T2 devaluated by T3 because its infinitely better?
Because all of the above are so easily obtainable it devalues them significantly. The game is full of welfare gear except for maybe the last two bosses of mythic raids.

You came with statements. Not me. You say gold, gear and mounts etc. have no value on Retail, why?
I can say why gold and mounts (that are not rewarded from clearing a raid on mythic) have no value atleast.
There is way to much gold in retail so things just have insane prices and therfor gold have no value.
You can literaly buy mounts with real world money that look beter than most in game mounts therfor mounts have no value.

So is it a matter of quantity? Ye, 1 gold in Classic is more than 1 gold on Retail. But that doesn´t mean gold doesn´t matter. You buy the same things with gold on both Retail and Classic, only “for how much” differs.
they dont have value, anyone with some sense can see that
someone with 1,000,000 gold is no better than someone with 100 gold because of tokens,
someone with 100 mounts is no better than someone with 2 mounts because they are soo easy to get
someone with mythic gear is no better than someone with heroic gear because there is hardly any difference

You are slightly wrong there actually, the reason I would give for gear not being worth anything in retail is that you replace it the second the next raid comes out.

But how is this different to Classic? You switched MC gear for BWL gear. Then you switched BWL for Naxx gear. In TBC everytime new PvP season comes new tier will be replaced by old tier. How is that different from Retail? This is simply how WoW works since the beginning.

Ye just like on retail some trinkets or weapons from “old” tier are better than trinkets from new raid. Remember Font of Azshara or Getikku sword?
People are so stubborn in this. They always say “oh gear doesn´t matter on Retail blah blah”. It does, a lot. Meanwhile gear being devaluated by new seasons / raids is smt which is in WoW since Vanilla, its not Retail exclusive.
