Nope I didnt play BFA, took a break halfway through legion and wouldnt have returned if it wasnt for classic and friends from a guild there. But you have to admit that you usally replace all your gear in a new raid. From classic we have odd things like the scarab broosh that is still usefull even in wotlk (it got better all the time).
Ye I definitely agree with you that with new raid tier we pretty much change 95% of old gear. All im saying is we basically do that since Vanilla.
yeah most people do but the power jumps arent as extreme in classic when a new raid comes out. You dont jump 20k hp and 3k dps per new tier (numbers pulled right out of my a hole there but still)
In classic the gear is much more special. The different Tier sets are so different, T2 is not just an upgraded T1. Paladins for example, T1 is a basic hybrid set, T2 is a defensive spelldmg set, T2.5 is a offensive Spelldmg set (which i use over Naxx gear) and Naxx gear was the first real healing Set for paladins. So even lower tier sets could be better for someone depending on their spec and what they want to do in the game.
Healpalas mostly have been wearing non-set items until Naxx came out, some non-set items from MC are still better than BWL, AQ40 items… Not every item has a better version of it in the next raid in classic.
I think the TBC arena sets are a bit boring because they are all the same and the next Tier just has increased stats. At least they look different! (which das not even matter in retail because transmogs).
Imagine even comparing a game were they e-sport the difficulty and a game which has laid back 1-3 button rotation played by a bunch of boomers. Myself included
We have the insane speed runners in classic though and thats kind of a esport. And they are in some ways more comparable than people realise if nothing els in how hard they are at a “normal” persons level not speaking about the speedrunners or the mythic raiding crowds level but at a normal laid back level nether of them is a hard game.
Lol esports. WoW + esports kk.
Well there is global arena championship ( 900.000$ prize pool ) and MDI (300.000$ prize pool) . What defines e-sport according to you? It is pretty small on comparison to other games but its still there
That I would say is a true esport even if its not something I would personaly watch.
Speedrunning competition maybe not sure and if that is a esport then classic have its own esport as well. You dont need price pools according to me to be a esport though.
One can make a sport out of anything. Still some sports might be more noble/complex than others. I saw competitive vaping/slapping/hotdog eating… in my opinion not very interesting or noble/complex sports…
I also think MMORPG’s are also not really great for eSport and trying to make it more into an eSport will just remove some RPG elemets…
If i would want to play eSport i would simply not play wow. There are much better eSport titles out there (MOBAs/RTS/CS).
I know.
I mean don’t people already know the consequences of boosts, vanity items and all the stuff that inevitably follow-- as in the way people play the game?
Well, it called the history of Vanilla WoW to Retail WoW.
Uuh anyway I think we can be pretty confident what was in Blizzard’s mind when they recreated Classic - they thought "Hmm… this might well be a good start in getting players who’ve left back into the buy-buy-buy cycle of Retail. But let’s not do it at first, let’s wait until the first expansion and exploit the weakness of players in patience and effort. Let’s milk the nostalgia train for TBC and use the excuse “Why not just pay to skip Vanilla as that content is now irrelevant?”
I’m sure they know many won’t be exploited by that, but many would be. Oh yes and a great big bonus will be Retail players who have a passing interest in going to TBC for nostalgia-- we don’t even need to convert them-- they’ll just empty their wallets at the first chance.
“Who cares about the integrity of Classic?”
Not the people who buy deluxe editions.
I’m mainly talking about PvP, as I think PvE is a huge joke in both retail and classic. Avoiding predictable mechanics on set timers is not hard, regardless of what version you’re playing.
However, if you put a high rated retail PvP player versus a high rated classic/private server player, I guarantee the retail Andy would get royally clapped. The same goes for putting a classic player in retail PvP.
Now, if you put a bunch of retail players in a classic battleground, without having any class experience from leveling, and to make matters even worse they’re wearing full green gear… Hopefully you get my point.
hahahahahah
Damn, you make a convincing argument
Why would I? There’s 0 point in that with you delusional people. I’m pretty sure most of those so called “high rated classic/private server players” would not even be able to reach 1550 in the current meta.
Why are you even posting? You sound like a child.
“No, you’re wrong! Reeeeeeee! Oh, why you ask? Because!!!”
The least you can do is contribute to the discussion if you really want to be involved.
Private server players will 100% dominate the brackets once season 1 begins.
If you believe anything else, you’re the delusional one.
The first week when people getting used to TBC arena I can imagine it will be back and forth. But I’m pretty sure the world top retail players will end up dominating like always.
The thing is, those top TBC players probably played TBC for 2-3 years to practice. Many of the world top retail players have played every single season from Season 1. They are kinda on another level.
Whatever makes you cope clicker
Do you think the private server people only played season 1?
