Why the level 58 boost is bad for the game #stoptheboost

It’s not elitist to level up in world of Warcraft!!!
You do not have time to level up between now and whenever tbc launch?
That’s okey, but if you dont play the game, you shouldn’t get the reward! It’s not that hard.

you can play with friends from 1 to 58 too.

Argh, I spent 200+ hours leveling to 60, it’s not fair that other people don’t have to do that.

And no, I don’t. Have time to play maybe 5-6 hours a week normally - perhaps a bit more at launch to level up.

but if you dont play the game, you shouldn’t get the reward!

Very nice way of putting it - not gatekeeping at all.

Leave them dude, I tried to reason so much but it doesn’t matter. They will resort to flaming, trolling, threatening, anything to make us look like spoiled brats.

They think they own this game and they dictate how it should be played.

At this point I hate the Classic community but thankfully I have my own friends to play with so I don’t care about them.

I have been living a lie this whole time!!

Dear Blizzard, please do not add level boosts to the game.

So you mean playing wow is a reward, and that I should make myself worthy of receiving said reward?

What a warped view

WoW is a game - I’m getting what I put into it. You choose to put in 100s of hours of meaningless leveling which I find tedious and don’t have time for. I put in a few €€ and then I enjoy the game.

I see your twisting my argument and I raise you, condescending snarky comment.

Please use reading and comprehension when replying to my comments. Will you follow or tap out?

I find gold farming and pvp meaningless, I should be able to buy gear and gold.

Why don’t you go play tag blinded on a railroad?

Humanity will thank you for it.

You know one mage in this thread used this argument and then gave an example where he didn’t get a motw from a druid in retail few months ago… So I guess no one is perfect right. Also very funny

I for one would love if tokens would make it to classic. I hope that would reduce the bots and give Billy Joe with 7 kids with 3 (ex) wives a chance to play and buy his gold without going to botters

Typical classic player btw

You may write walls of text (which nobody is going to read anyway) and it won’t change anything.

Well if someone is trying to kill boars alone and does not manage to do it efficiently or even dies to those boars (might have pulled too many) then it only affects this player.
If this player is in a group and does inefficient things and pulls too many mobs/aggro then the whole group gets punished for it.

Due to it’s cost, it actually makes the game less accessible to many new players

No it doesn’t - no one actually makes the use of a boost to 58 compulsory for a “new” player. They can still level if they desire - based on what ever drives them cost of the boost vs time to level 1 - 58, in at that point mostly irrelevant content.

It further aids bots.

Only time will tell, I suspect / hope Blizzard has improved bot detection in the later game client.

It creates a new meta for how to be the most time efficient and competitive player -

So what ? That’s only going to affect the ultra sweaty top 2% of the player base who will feel they absolutely have to have 22 accounts each. The majority it wont impact at all.

It de-legitimises what others have earned and sets a terrible precedent

It definitely de-legitimises all those dungeon boosted for gold accounts /sarcasm.
It’s a video game outside of the nerdbase who actually gives a **** about World Firsts or an Orange weapon that your guild decided you should have eh?

It’s cliche but, it isn’t the ‘classic experience’

You meant it’s not the Vanilla experience - the Classic experience is a different thing - bot’s RWT ( gold / items ) boosting all on a huge scale.

Player-driven dungeon boosts are more acceptable than blizzard provided level boosts

You mean your boosting services arent going to be as lucrative I assume.

It pollutes the 58-70 player population (especially at launch) with clueless players

That’s based on the assumption that anyone using a boost will be new or new to TBC Classic. There’s jsut a good a chance that it will be a returning player / someone who’s played TBC for years on P Servers. You are assuming …

Having said all the above I’m busy leveling 3 toons in advance of TBC and will also use the boost on all 4 accounts if the cost is reasonable. ( Value of Time Spent to level vs cost of boost )

So offering my services with my character as a mercenary, killing monsters for other players that pay me in gold is seen as a bad thing?
That’s how the ingame economy works in an MMORPG. Players offer all sorts of services with their character, making portals, opening locked boxes, crafting items, killing bosses, and help leveling… It all costs gold and not real money.

Now Blizzard offering the boost for RL money is against the MMORPG aspect of the game… Nothing should be available for RL money in this game. Ofc people do stuff illegally but that doesn’t make it legitimate for Blizzard to do it as well. It just shows that Blizzard is incapable of maintaining the integrity of the game and that it’s fine for them as long as they make a lot of money…

yeah, who gives a rats behind about the time I spent legitimately leveling my character. My time is worth nothing, it’s the era of precious zoomer time.

I’m gonna be like that then. I don’t want to spend my precious time on arenas, I want to pay for S1 S2 S3 and S4 gear. Give me that 1 time per account option.
grinding wasn’t a part of TBC, showing off arena gear was.

Why don’t you post from your legitimately leveled lvl60 you don’t care about having leveling time invalidated by some kid buying a boost to 58.

This is my 60, put quite a whack of time into it, had fun with it.
I dont mind if someone takes the boost, chances are I’ll never know the difference except maybe get into a dungeon quicker or find a questing group quicker or heaven forbid maybe even find a new buddy to chat with from time to time.

It’s ok, you don’t value your time. I do however. A big chunk of the playerbase does as well.
