World Buff still exist in TBC

Easy to get at least x) .

This only affects the Tempest Keep, does it not? I doubt it will be used much outside of dedicated Kael’Thas speedruns.

Btw why does people hate world buffs?

because you are faking your characters strength by such an immense amount, that even dungeon geared chars with wbuffs are stronger than full epic geared ones without. and if you die by some random classic mechanic ur characters power is just halfed.

Ah i see, so they are too strong

Blessing of Ad’al only affects the quest holder, not everyone in Shattrath. So no there’re no (usable) wbuffs in TBC

It’s not just that. It’s that wbuffs are frustrating to get, and frustrating to lose. If they were just regular buffs that you can use/cast repeatedly inside the instance, like consumables and class spells, they wouldn’t be anywhere as hated.

Getting kicked out of the guild for not having world buffs seems like a very positive outcome because that guild sounds pretty terrible.

There are pve players who only do raids. In that sense they are not even forced to log out and not play their main - they do it voluntarily because they don’t know what to do with their main outside of a raid anyway.
Too bad if someones guild consists mostly of such players.

They arent hard to get at all. Take 30min to collect them all. More if you are alliance and want warchiefs for the entire raid, but people only go that far on Dmf weeks.

Is 30min effort too much to ask…?

Yes they are frustrating to lose, but playing well have its reward.

Yea, i pretty much agree this. Also if i think it the hatred towards world buffs have just gotten out of control and people hates them just because others hate them too…

If they really are that frustrating to get and frustrating to lose then they must be really satisfying while you have them. Having something to lose is always a good thing in my opinion. People try harder not to fail and die. It’s more exciting to be at the risk of loosing something.
It’s additional content because you can make fun of people who die with buffs.
Most likely only weak minded players hate world buffs. Most reasonable players simply don’t care too much. Get into a guild that doesn’t require you to be fully buffed and enjoy the game.

Smart, good post imo!

I’ve not said “hard”. I’ve said “frustrating”. First you have to log on at certain times during the day (and that’s assuming you have a community organizing these buffs, and nobody who screws them up - both things out of your control for the most part). Then you have to log off the game until the actual raid. I’m emphasizing this because, no matter what you think, it’s not normal for a game mechanic to actually discourage you from literally log into the game and play your character. And finally, it puts your entire run on a strict timer - even stuff that should be normal like listening to Raid Leader explaining tactics becomes a feelsbad moment because you have wbuffs running (and, unlike consumables, you can’t just re-pop them if they expire).

They’re just a bad mechanic, and nobody will miss them in TBC.

The problem is that they don’t just punish dying. They punish waiting for pulls, listening to your raid leader, going to the toilet or opening the door if somebody rang (or anybody else in the raid needing to do so), or literally just playing the game anywhere before the raid.

It’s okay and fun to have some content on a timer - think like Baron Run or ZA bear run, for example - but not to have the entire game on a timer (a timer, I must add, that actually starts running before you even enter the raid).

Lol “weak minded”. Sounds more like you just enjoy griefing people.

Not sure what you mean with “hatred towards world buffs have just gotten out of control”. They’re a stupid mechanic and the large majority of ppl won’t miss them when they move to TBC. That’s really all that needs to be said about them.

Well i mean that I THINK that there are not that many people that actually hates them for a reason than just because some of their guild or their in game friend hates them, To me they seems to be a cool feature in the game, i love seeing people waiting the Buffs and asking them when popping up… i like them for the content they make not the way they work

Staying logged off forcibly isn’t game content

Good point they were designed wrong since the start, they should have been buffs like 5% experiance or things like that which are not needed in end game but in early game (This is just fast idea and there might be much problems in it dont take it too strong as its just fast idea thrown in to the wind)

That’s exactly how the only true TBC wbuff works (i.e. the one procced by Magtheridon head). It just gives exp and reputation bonuses.

Good goin’ then, glad they were not removed completely in game

Playing with world buffs and flasks is the same as switching the raid down to LFR difficulty.
