World Buff still exist in TBC

Ps 6 talents are the same of patch 1.9.

Already stopped reading there becouse you have no clue of this game.

I was, and it’s on this account. Dunno why you said I wasn’t, check my RIO and achievements, top world in WOTLK and in legion.

Sure about that?

I’m an old player and raided hardcore back in vanilla.

All I can say is that worldbuffs were used and for example we would trigger Onyxia buff as a guild at some time convenient to us, before going MC where we had an attempt at Ragnaros waiting for us. And that would continue to be the ‘all in move’ for new bosses during vanilla. At some point we stopped going Ony and never had the buff again.

Stuff just wasn’t as organised, and there were less ppl raiding (we had only 5 raiding guilds in total on the alliance side-and this was on a populated server containing 3000 ppl and having queues).

I dont know how it is on other servers, but if you’re on Stonespine and hang out between 7 and 7.15 in SW, you will always get the Ony buff.

You don’t even need to have your own head as a raiding guild. There is so many of guilds, that it will always be popped.

This is a big difference with the old days regard to buffing.

The largest difference is the amount of information. There wasn’t a centralised place where you would gather information. People had their kill techniques, and would keep that to themselves. No abundant guides on Wowhead (which didnt exist) or Youtube (which didnt exist). We would break in to the website of the german guild Inner Sanctum and read the topics where they discussed ways to approach encounters. That is how we got our information.

Most of the encounters, I went in entirely clueless waiting for the raidleader who was explaining what to do in /rw for god knows how many minutes. We would listen to that and then wipe for 12 hours a week, every week. Then there was a 4 hour window to farm existing content; mostly MC+BWL. We didnt have voicechat, and ppl would randomly DC or have their computer crash on too much AOE or other activity.

Another change is the addons, which are highly sophisticated. During Vanilla, CT_raid was devopped, which is the predecessor to DBM, and only with that addon Baron Geddon was actually easy. Before Ctra, we would from the LINE at Geddon. He was pulled all the way to Garr’s room because this was the only available space where we could actually form the line, 40 ppl wide with melee in the middle.
Why form this line? It was the only possible way to SEE you were afflicted by living bomb, quite a subtle animation especially on low graph settings, which everyone had. You would stare at your character for living bomb and move out for it to trigger, actually die from it, and then be ressed by the OOC rezzer.

With DBM you get a huge warning, plus an alarm sound, and its impossible to miss. I know I get offtipic but want to share this nonetheless.

Also much more limited. The first raid I joined in Vanilla was MC sometime at the end of the BWL patch / before AQ war effort. It had all healers spamming one button that would cast their rank one big heal (that received full healing power bonus btw - so basically something like 1k heal 1.5s cast time for no mana) on the target with most health missing in their cast range. They told me to install “decursive” that would automatically remove curse from a person closest to me that had one on him on encounters like Lucy and Gahennas. And CT already had a splash text and sound effect for Bomb on Gaddon. Oh and there was a reasonably accurate threat meter, though we still waited for 3 sunders on target out of habit more than anything.
Addons now in Legion client have a pale shadow of the power they had in Vanilla.

Yeah, also this was a thing. Basically unlimited combat rezzes as long as some healers stayed out of combat.

personally I hate them because you spend time getting them just to get dispelled or ganked

Play on a PVE server.

pve servers makes the game less fun though wpvp is one of the reasons why the game still is fun to play but dispellers sitting in major cities makes wbuffs pointless imo

Dispelling is just as much a part of wpvp as ganking lowbies. You either like it or you dont.
