Classic is based on patch 1.12.1 so it’s not really a valid argument to use literally game breaking stuff from earlier patches as a straw man argument.
Exactly. It was a feature in all versions of Vanilla. If your alleged glitch wasn’t part of 1.12.1 you would have a case.
With this said. World buffs need to change in some way. It’s not reasonable to have them cause such game breaking lagg in major cities and other zones when so many guilds are more or less forced to travel at the same time.
It worked well on private servers without any cooldown.
I find it somewhat funny how many of you guys are so quick to defend the presence of Wbuffs in Vanilla based on the fact that’s how 1.12 was… except proposing to remove the CD that also was in Vanilla.
Removing Wbuff CD is as legit of a proposal as removing Wbuffs altogether (at least from inside raids) is.
Doesnt change the fact that blizzard should fix their act and improve their servers. Servers not capable of handling a couple of hundred players at peak hours is just inexcusable in 2020.
Why should we go PvE servers to save World Buff ? This is a dumb statement. Dispelling World Buff is not a PvP problem, it’s a problem of poor mechanic because they should not be dispellable. Some kiddos with no real life abuse this mechanic, so players react and prevent this situation.
We take all World Buff 1 day before the raid, and then we go into BWL or MC at night. Then, we logout, and we never relog untill raid day. We have 1 person in guild that stay online 24/24 7/7 with an autoclicker to never disconnect and prevent the raid to disband.
This is sad to have to disconnect and then we can’t play the game untill raid time, but it’s the only solution due to the fact they are dispellable and the insane lag when Ony head is popped at raid time.
Well, the logic is probably that - at least in DM:N’s case - they’re spells cast by an NPC over you, rather than group-wide “rallies” like RCotD or Warchief’s Blessing.
That being said, IMO the “stupid developer” was the one who conceived wbuffs to begin with (or at least didn’t make them ineffective in instanced content), so I guess your mileage may vary on this.
