"World" chat admin - REMOVE IT

The fact that you can go to a dungeon, have a warrior spam abuse at everybody and if you dare say anything back he or his guildmates who are the admins in world chat will permanently ban you from that chat is such a ridiculous and flawed system.

Blizzard needs to take GLOBAL CONTROL of world chat, to stop these abusive little idiots like in the guild SAAB on Shazzrah. They are wrecking the entire server by being absolute idiots and banning anybody who dares to say anything back to them whilst they do it. Effectively locking a player out of the entire servers economical and instance finding channel forever, with absolutely 0 way to combat it.

Blizzard needs to change this.

Simply put - its a player ran chat. The fact that nearly every seems to use it is irrelevant.
We, the players, decided to make and use /world, we the players are responsible for the issues that arise from it.

I would absolutely love it if they did change this to an official channel, but I wouldn’t say they “need” to due to the previously stated reasons

I don’t remember there even being world chats on retail servers, at least there was none on realm that I played on - I remember coming from private servers to retail during TBC times and I was surprised that there is no world chat

No, I don’t think that’s necessary. It’s a player-operated channel, and it’s policed by some players. The fact that they got there before you is not an injustice.

If you really think the people in control are abusing it somehow, then just make “worldnoadmin” or some other arbitrary channel. Good luck convincing anyone to use it, though. If people are happy to keep using a moderated channel, then it is de facto acceptable to those people that it be moderated in that fashion.

I have been banned from one of these before by an idiot - it was annoying, but when ownership changed to someone nicer, a guildy messaged them asking them to unban me

If they dont know the command - its /unban World (player name)

Although… I would also suggest deleting that link  doesnt put you in a good light either to be honest!

I think what you just sent here could get you banned more so than what the other guy did (which is not bannable at all actually as far as I know)

Use LookingForGroup

I have to agree TBH. Given that there is no global chat channel in game by default, the “Player-run channel” is necessary because its a function that is not in the game by default.
Blizzard should add a global LFG channel.

Also OP if you’re banned you should join /lookingforgroup

Lookingforgroup is empty.

Channel never changes admin to somebody otuside of their guild, as they’re all set as moderators whereas nobody else is.

They’re ninjaing everything in every run then flat banning anybody who speaks out against it, then threaten to report you if you whisper them citing “harrassment”…

Surely this crap is grieifing and against the TOS? At this point who cares about being banned from the game, EVERYTHING happens in world chat and if 1 guild is actively controlling everything that happens in that chat, and bans anybody who dares say anything bad about the constsant crap they do, what’s the point playing? You can get nothing done if you’re not in that channel.

You just said it yourself there is one global channel for forming groups. The rest can be done in cities using trade/general.

>no proof of items being ninja’d
>no proof of player harassing members of group
>proof of OP raging in player’s DMs and being toxic

Congratulations OP, you’ve played yourself.

Off-Topic but: Anyone else find it ironic that a guild named <Banish> is getting banished from world chat for acting stupid?

The screenshot names and shames the person too
the screenshot is carefully snipped to remove any possible indication to the rest of the conversation

Although I have noticed more and more people snipping out the “proof” when posting “proof” O___o

Because they have no proof. It’s just Banish guild getting banned from World chat for trying to abuse the layer mechanic and whinging on the forums without an ounce of understanding that World chat is a PRIVATE CHAT run by the COMMUNITY and as a consequence doesn’t need to abide by any “rules” or “ToS”.

In other words, you can get banned from World channel for virtually whatever and it’s not against the rules.

I’d ban you too…

For being a gnome - you should have your own channel.

I just use lookingforgroup to find parties.

Imagine using world instead of LFG, it’s like you want to be abused.

On my server, /world and /lookingforgroup are used equally.

If players have ability to make world chat, then the game should have a world chat function built in, and not player moderated.
