My understanding is that World channel was something used commonly on private servers (possibly back in they day in Vanilla too) but on private servers the people running the server can keep control.
In Classic it is not a public channel but a player created channel so all the normal rules of a player created channel apply. On my server more people use LFG for finding people than World and we remind anyone using world that LFG exists.
Sadly you don’t join the LFG channel by default but then again you don’t join world without typing it in.
But that makes no sense. Players also have the ability to make a “ReallyLikesPotatoes” channel, but that doesn’t mean it has to be baked in (pun intended).
i dont know why certain people feel the need to complain on the forums over every tiny discomfort/inconvenience and try to make a big deal out of it when its really not.
you got serveral options here:
if you really feel harassed - write a ticket with actual proof of the whole situation
report & ignore whoever causes you distress
use one of the other chats, there are plenty to choose from
just pick your poison and go with it, no need to open a thread about this because noone is able to help you here.
you seem to be highly toxic yourself so maybe its time to just take a step back and not let every little thing get to you that much and move on.
in my opinion, there doesnt need to be a “global control” of world chat.

By default the game has no global channel, you are limited by zone. Yet, it allows us to create them. Therefore people will use a global channel. The game should have a global channel built in. And then people are free to do whatever they like in other channels.
Whether it would be called /lookingforgroup or /world or /wowsucks or /asdfioagd it doesn’t matter, there should be a global channel built in.
Or – remove the ability to create channels and restrict people just to the standard ones.
World, like LFG, is just a player-controlled channel.
This doesn’t say anything about the person you’re talking about and a lot about you. I don’t think you’ve thought it through, because that can get you banned.
In Zandalar Tribe, LookingForGroup is barely readable at peak hours.
There is zero difference between the potato channel and world. Just your perception of the channels. They are both just player created channels with exactly the same limitations.
