When the top guild on the server locks the world chat to slow other players down… this is just nasty. Everyone knows the name of the guild but BLIZZARD ARE PROTECTING them as i cannot say the name of the guild in forum posts!!!
surely if changing the password on a popular chat channel if not against the rules then why is saying a guild name against the rules? Protected…

Unfortunately it’s a private channel. I know it’s now been pretty much appropriated as a free for all chat for a server, but it’s user driven content. Unfortunately there’s not much you can do about it.
Maybe start a /werld or /shazzrah instead.
ok blizzard can chose to honour this ‘rule’ and keep the chat banned and piss of 5k+ players to keep 1 guild happy then no wonder the company is in the crapper lol.
Technically abusing guards and safe spots at gadgetzan isnt against any rules? but gm still tell people not to do it , and if they continue they get banned.
Same on gehennas, anyone selling devilsaur tend to be banned from world chat
Naming and shaming may be prohibited, but you don’t have to do that.
Let’s praise that guild for that instead, then saying their name is ok.

nah i think there has been that many posts about them blizzard blocked the word… it begins with Ex… and they are top guild on server not hard to find.

Blacklist the guild <Exiled> for banning several members from the world channel. It’s on Shazzrah Horde side. The guy who do that is “Banhi”, a Mage level 60.
They are not “top guilds”, they just a random guild like zillion of others, the top guild is APES. And on Shazzrah, it’s “Resist” who have the server first Ragnaros. It’s not theses random guy xD.
It’s not a “rule” to be honoured as such. If someone wants to create their own private channel and password protect it, it’s their choice to do

Making the guards behave in unintended ways is against the rules.
Respawning raid bosses wasn’t bannable offense either it seems.

Yes if you do not belong to the guild that controls the devilsaur, like 2 guilds per faction on gehennas then you are going to get banned from world chat.
The only way to sell devilsaur is to sell it secretly if you dont belong to the guild, like tracking players that type wtb devilsaur and whispering them first.
Remember though some of those that spam wtb devilsaur are alt members of guild that control devilsaur, they do this in order to find out who is selling secretly or not.
So if you decide to advertise in the world chat, the guild banns you and adds your name to other list of advertisers to be banned.
They do this by sending your name to other guilds and their own guild members in order to bann you from world chat as soon as you login.
then blizzard wonders why everyone hates them and they lose subs lol. a bit of common sense is needed… surely?
The ganking in gadget was stopped because it was a game exploit used so that the guards couldn’t get them. It’s an exploit against the ToS.
being outside guards range is not exploit. same way u can kill someone if are far away from the guards on the OUTSIDE of the wall
It is because standing on the place where the guards can’t reach you isn’t meant to be reached. It’s an exploitable bug. If you can’t comprehend this or disagree with it, that’s you, not blizzard’s fault.
The ganking happened mostly due to climb-exploiting, not line of sight or range.
