World of Don't use your Main

Oh please, most people forget that Healthstones exist. Troughput is troughput. If warlocks suck next expansion, truth is we wont see much warlocks in content. Even now im trying to convince people to get to play the damned class couse im tire of beeing the only cookie despence, however the answer is “Sick dps mate , in raid , Sux in Mplu tough”.

True. The only warlocks you will see are the true mains.

Depends on your friends or “friends” then and each goals. If you are aiming to play and compete with Limit and achieve world records in m+ highest key cleared then it will require a different mindset. But thats the famous “0.x % crowd”.

Most guilds and m+ teams try to work with what they have and make it work. One of my bnet friends was a DK at m+ S1 when they were descent. Of course S2 came and DK feel into the gutter. We still did higher keys as best as we could and it was fun trying to find all kinds of work arounds" to get the job done. The lad really loved them DKs and it was difficult to let them go…

But according to the min-maxers logic we got here. “Sry. You play non, meta class?” You no friend of mine. /ignore and come back once you got the meta class". And I dont care that we spent the entire S1 and made a nice tight bond between us. No warrior? Get lost!

Maybe this works in pugs where all people care is numbers and metas. But not in close knit teams or guilds.

You cannot force people to play something they hate, and you cannot force people to leave classes they love.

Classic has loads of Feral Druids, retail has almost none.
Classic feral druids are terrible, retail feral druids are really good.

Mind asplode yet?

Not if I figure out a way to use certain abilities or certain builds in a certain ways at the right times that put me on the top, even above other classes that would otherwise be considered better. But again, covenants don’t offer me this opportunity to experiment via trial and error that I’ve had until SL.

I don’t as much desire to be the best as I want to at least try to be. I don’t want this opportunity to be tied to aestethics and story.

Now i know you’re trolling.

Here it is again.
Do you know what “how much you want” means?

I bet you do, but you’re just trolling.
Your crappy RPG meaning means crap to me, so spare me with mentioning it again.

I want to enjoy the game.

I can’t because i can’t switch to what covenant powers or conduits i LIKE to use in what content i’m doing at the time.

Sounds like we shouldn’t have class power tied to a story choice then, and let people choose what and how they want to play, no? Do I get it that all the bad people forcing you to change builds suddenly don’t exist anymore?

Well I know one thing is certain. I’ll be enjoying shadowlands. I know many others probably will too :man_shrugging:

Do you like to only use ST abilities in M+ as well?

Cause that’s a challenge too.
Your dumb reasoning is just that… dumb.

RPG means whatever people need it to mean whenever it works for them. It’s like the Room of Requirement in the form of a word.

Isn’t it awesome?!

I don’t see how it’s awesome.

Ah, I see you are missing the Rose Tinted Goggles ™
Put those on and try looking again!

I can guarantee you, you will still be able to do both.

We are tacking friends out of the equazion here, not many people do havethat much friends playing and are good at macking them in game. I for one am starting guild with IRL friends in SL, enough to fill atleast a heroic roster so my covenant choice will not affect me getting into content. However i do not like to weaker because i like vampires. And we are talking about huge differences here ~30% from abilities alone, soulbinds and the other c^^p can make up or further exagerate this difference depending if you are lucky to have picke a correct class.

Not necceraly minmaxing logic, more like path of least resistance. Will you honestly take someone random with a bottom tier spec (again 60% difference as of now further increased by wrong covenants) when you can take a random DH for example?

Also my precvious point, your guild and friends are not there all the time, I for one end up in this situation often and like i said i have a full roster of people who i can play with.

I canot force them true, i can also decline them from groups. If a person would go for Aestetic>Power i can understand him perfectly… while hitting that decline button.

1st = Depends on the affixes. For example on Tyran. Maybe my ST covenant will be actually usefull.
2nd = On the group setup. If the other 2 dpsers are coming with some awesome aoe covenants and/or aoe specs. Then maybe my ST will actually be more usefull than just another AoE boyo.

In pugs = All you care is about the dps metter. Doesn’t matter that you stood in fire or you were cannibalizing’s dps from others just to get the number.
High dps number = You iz PRO.

In guilds/teams/friends = You care how to make your 5 man work with the tools you got. I want my team to succeed and time the key. Not to show off my “numbers”.

EDIT:

I rather take a friend whom I can sit on discord and have fun while playing WoW.
Than “Look at my AWESOME RIO! I am PRO. I play meta! LALALA 3 chest guaranteed”. OMG WE are taking the wrong route! U SUX! BYE!!! guy…

Ps; just to make these grumpy people a bit happier;
I’m in favor of removing the weekly cd for conduit switching.

But covenant abilities should stay where they are.

Coolbeans. Ignore me then.

No, it really doesn’t. Tying them together is exactly what makes it fun.

It’s fun to build characters based on story and get abilities that arise from those choices in the building process, and to look the part! That’s what RPG’s are all about! Choices that forge my identity and my abilities - and ideally a ton of them.

If I choose to be blessed by the Bear Spirit and then I have to cast Fireball while never having opened a spellbook in my life? Yeah, not happening. Story leads to abilities leads to story. The player, through its powers and actions, builds the story together with the game designer or game master.

If we were to take your idea at face value, we really should make 36 versions of every spell. Shadowbolt can get to be Daggerbolt for rogues and Hammerbolt for paladins and, of course, Spittlebolt for Druids in Cat Form. Sounds cool? I don’t think so.

Nah, they’ll exist just the same as FotM-rerollers still exist. It’s just that nobody cares 99% of the time. They don’t get to decide what’s gonna happen.

I have them on but they are covered in mush from the dead horse. I like it better this way.

Ew dude. Ew.
