But now they’re covered in gore.
Yet an possible to overcome it or work around it.
Yet it either requires effort or making friends&social connections.
But those 2 bolded sentences seem to be causing an “allergic reaction” to some people these days.
I would have been on the same page have I not researched, not knowing what covenants come with. That would change quite quickly once I would begin to figure it all out tho. I felt like this in Legion because I went in after after only subing in late WoD, only to find out what a mess the legendary acquisition system is. I got quite lucky with mine and got the good ones, but that wasn’t the case with my friends and it was apparent they weren’t enjoying the game as much as I was. It will be the same with people who win their covenant lottery.
Doesn’t bother me. Job’s being done.
How’s the job done?
You’re not getting what you want.
I just like the chaos.
Ah. Okay. Clear.
Continue.
You’re aware of the UNethical implications of being deliberately worse than you could and then getting other people to make up for your deficiencies, aren’t you? Not that I care too much for people who LIKE carrying deadweights, if that’s what floats their boat, then whatever… But this does say something about you, and it’s not positive.
Hey, if I get paid, I’ll do it. And if I get paid enough, I’ll even like it.
No really… You actually believe that?!
Oh hey… just to be clear… I’m not talking about that really DELIBERATELY ruining a run or anything is ok, because of course it’s not.
BUT… Choosing a covenant because you LIKE it instead of ‘what gives higher numbers’ is NOT deliberately being worse.
Macking it possible to overcome does not make it fun, its not fun when furry warrior A outperforms you because he doesnt care about covenants and you like bone people.
Yeah, im so looking forward to outgearing the 30% troughput difference from 1 ability, not to mention how do you effort the venthyr teleport skip?
This i can agree with, WoW is designed to be played in a guild imo, however sometimes your friends and your guild are not online.
Start of legion I mained an affliction lock.
I don’t know if you remember or know about them but they were considered “terrible” at the start of Legion and they built a reputation so people wouldn’t invite one.
I still enjoyed the playstyle though, the only people who were handicapping me from playing end content were other players, when I pugged.
So I made friends and continued to enjoy the game with the spec I chose. Later on affliction got some really nice buffs.
Go with what and who you want, you’ll enjoy it a lot better.
Yeah, the unsaid proposition was to get suckers called “guild mates” or “friends” and NOT pay them in any way but massaging their egos with soft lies, I suspect. I don’t like being lied to, as any rational person wouldn’t, but then some people do.
And who says whats better or worse then? The meta kings and makers?
You can be the best spriest on the realm(for example). Do awesome dmg and stuff.
Yet any random pug = “Sry. Meta lords says that spriests sux so you must sux too!”
Go ahead. Argue against them.
So once again. The question remains. Its not “what bad or good” but who is making this “judgement”. If your team or friends can see that you are carrying your weight DESPITE not being a meta class or covenant or what ever. Then they will care little if some guy from Limit says that you “should be bad”.
Okay I guess nobody’s writing guides for Arcane mage then because Fire is currently better.
Oh wait, they are?! What crazy people! They’re even writing Rogue guides when Hunters are better?!?! Jeeze, these stupid people can’t even find the most optimal build in the entire game and expect literally everyone to roll it?
Good guides will guide you to a build to play that is within the area you like playing. They will never, ever attempt to tell you to just not roll a class or spec, and soon that will extend to covenants. I’ve already seen very viable builds for 3 out of 4 covenants for all mage specs, by the way.
You are absolutely insane. Not even Method (err sorry, what are they called now?) thinks like this. Stop!!
No. If you’re miserable and terrible at playing something it won’t make you perform better, it’ll make you not perform at all because you’ll quit! There’s a reason decent guilds don’t run after their entire raid team and tell them all to play mages UNLESS Blizzard completely messes up on making the balance good enough. And they do, but rarely.
I’ve played mage and feral druid since 2007 - actually 2004 if you count some beta xp, but that was mostly feral and mostly levelling. My preferred class is suddenly in meta, and I certainly don’t mind making the rest of the choices. I like it and it’s the meta, but that’s not meta slavery. It’s meta slavery as soon as I don’t like playing the new meta but switch to it anyway.
Another word for it is FotM-reroller.
No.
I am the raid leader.
I am an officer and former guild master.
Ptheh?
I played a shadow priest and playing one without the legendary belt felt straight up awful. But I got mine as my 3rd (I think), so I didn’t have to endure as much. The problem isn’t really what you enjoy, but if, due to your personality, or any other reason, you are even slightly competitive and want your character to be powerful, you’ll go for it. But I’m somewhere in between, where I want to play what I enjoy and like, but I also want to be as good as I can. Covenants don’t offer me that.
And I don’t think my approach is rare. Quite the opposite.
/standing ovation
There will be always something “meta” in whatever thing you decide to add to the game. So we can’t add anything because there will be a meta for everything?
We should make all classes equal hitting bosses naked with the same auto attacks speed and without any extra buttons.
What a balanced game that would be.
Big no.
I am not in charge of anything, i am simply curious to try and play the game with their vision of it.
I don’t want anyone to play MY WAY, i said i want to play the way blizz want me to. If you don’t, feel free not to play, i am not forcing you to do anything.
I mean, sure.
Whatever floats your boat!
The Limit guy is right, comperatively at the Top end their words do have value, but this begs the question should you get the Spriest and hope he is a 100 parcing god or take the Fire Mage that will outdps him without beeing the King of his class ? Also we are looking at really big disparcies here, Enhancement shamans are doing 60% less than Sub Rogues at optimal levels, that means correct covenants, soulbinds and conduits, sure we still have some time for tuning but 60% difference between dps specs !!?
The only way you an truly be competive though is if someone plays the same class/spec as you, as all classes utlizes abilities in different ways, so you’re going to always shine on something more than another class due to your toolkit.
