I don’t get it man. When did people become more concerned about numbers rather then just enjoying the game?
Except I already know that I enjoy raiding just as much as I enjoy M+, both on a decently high level. I’ve already had several expansions to figure that out and do both of them without these issues. But now the game says “pick one”.
Not to mention it takes months to even progress to the full potential of a covenant due to soulbind and conduit timegating. So I guess by 9.3 I should be able to tell what I like best.
So we’re back to comparing classes to covenants… it’s not like there’s 12 of them, which makes it a lot easier to find the theme you like, find the build you like within the class because there’s a ton more to play with… or that covenants are a choice you have to make after having already established your class and playstyle and then have to try to fit it all in there, both in gameplay and aestethics… and that your abilities and talents change with your spec, which covenants don’t… yeah, basically the same thing.

If you get enjoyment out of watching a graph that’s fine. But at the same time, you’re in the wrong sort of game.
Some people like all kinds of depraved, disgusting stuff. Doesn’t make it any less depraved and disgusting. 
There is this question tough, what happens if i need X bracers from Y dungeon at +Z level, but i cant get that key to drop or whatever keys do ?

It will be a balancing disaster and we’ll see them backing out of this mess in next patches. The systems will be tolerable in patch 9.2, maybe even 9.3. It looks like another round of legion artifacts and shoving us the concept of 36 classes in the game rather than just 12.

The moment they found out that if they choose their favourite bunch, their character will be consideraly weaker or less fun than another player of the same class who chose their favourite bunch. A bit of a bummer in a video game that revolves around character and power progression.
I would say then join a community or discord. But you will probably have an excuse for that as well.
TL:DR = Nothing is easy. But a solution can always be found. Of course for some. The “solution” is to whine on the forums about it(NOT implying anything against you personally Amonet).
Or just joined a friggin’ guild or made some friends.
I know, it’s unbelievable that anyone would try to do that in an MMORPG.
Feels like everyone except me is playing World of PuG-meta-slavery-everyone-is-stupid-craft.
They’re not 30%. They were like a few months ago, but they’re getting more and more balanced. Blizzard is working on it.
If it turns out it’s like 30-50% difference, then we’re dealing with a balance issue so massive that the game is not completable as some covenant-class combo’s, and then I will absolutely grant you that the system is completely busted.
However, that’s not really what people are complaining about. They’re saying there’s optimality for different covenants in different pieces of content, not that one covenant is vastly inferior to all the others in all types of content. They’re arguing against the principle of the system, not its imbalances necessarily.

Sounds to me, a lot of you guys have ruined your own expereince already next expansion. I know what characters are going where next expansion, and I’ve done no research at all into covenants, only watched the aferlives.

…because it’s 2% better and if what I want is TOP performance then second place is for losers. And the meta says so because it’s objectively better. So it’s showing us facts and you say not to believe them. Are you recruiting for your cult of flat earthers? Or perhaps antivacciner movement?
