I think many would still love to know what will happen at the end of the coming year.
Will players have the option to clone to era and progress to TBC?
Will TBC end? Will it become it’s own era server? Progress to Wrath?
I would love some clarity here in order to make an informed choice.

It’s the start of a slippery slope. There will come more changes for sure.
The best thing they could do is keep these new servers with all the changes that the forums want. Dual Spec, Ranking changes, Achievments, Debuff/buff limit, Blood elves and Draenai, StormRend, GDKP ban, paladin taunts and so on and so forth.
Meanwhile they should launch a fresh Era realm, literally just Era but with the phases on a 3 year reset cycle. After reset characters get transferred to 2019 era servers and then you have a fresh launch a month later.
For the people saying “Go play Era”. I do play Era and really enjoy it but having a fresh server to play with your guild and to start anew is a great feeling for many. This is just going to be some abomination of SOD and Era melded together.
Edit: Not a lot of people affected by this but going to mention it anyway, for the people who enjoy speedrunning it means that you cannot compare times in this fresh with time from 2019 classic/Era which sucks.

i think there will be a TBC era and Wrath Era, and instead of going to cata, you will have your char jump to the current cata servers, if that is mop or vod, idk. i belive the current cata servers will continue untill atleast legion, and after that they are gonna get transfered to retail. thats what i belive atleast
I feel you. But we were not given the TBC/WOTLK-era option last time though and we lost everything.
There’s absolutely no downside to these changes. Well done Blizzard for once.
Notice that the small number of babies moaning are DPS. Try going through the levelling journey as a Priest and having to pay extortionate respec costs every time you want to do a dungeon or else have to level up in holy spec and take 4 business days to kill a boar.
If you don’t like it you’re lucky you still have Era. Go enjoy it. This is Classic Anniversary and it’s already great
I think most people are fine with Dual spec in this fresh but allowing people to respec inside raids is going to make the new servers extremely anti-vanilla.
The community minmaxes the fun out of the game and suddenly raid leaders will expect everyone to have a trash dps spec and a boss dps spec rather than the intended purpose of dual spec. Mages will have to respec fire or frost depending on what you’re fighting in MC, warriors will have to spec arms for much bigger trash damage, some healers and offtanks will be expected to dps on trash. Suddenly you have a brand new metagame that is more similar to wotlk+ gameplay and is anti-vanilla.
However, if blizzard just limits spec changes to OUTSIDE raids this will save everyone a headache, and keep it closer to the spirit of vanilla.
What happens in SOD? Can you freely respec in raids?
Limit it to cities or Inns. Easy to solve. We don’t know the implementation yet but already full of doomsayers

Amazing changes and all of them are welcome. The dual spec especially is so amazing! But like mentioned before in this thread. The ability to change specs should still be limited to visiting trainer or the very least, inn.

Yeah, this is the best case scenario. People addressing this are not doomsayers but we are trying to prevent a worst case scenario and you could help.
SOD allows for free respecs in raids and in every phase you would have ppl swapping spec for trash + bosses depending on the fight.
This is fine for wotlk+ content but it doesn’t feel like vanilla.
Have you considered removing world buffs from raids? A lot of people, including me, think they are making content too easy.
I’d love if you could implement achievements… even if they would be un-shareable with other people (as is: only for yourself).
And, please, implement achievement tracking anyway – a lot of achievements from Classic and TBC didn’t carry over to WotLKClassic because AchievementCriteria wasn’t implemented before.
If they do let you change mid raid then I can assure you the outrage will be much greater than it is right now when most people see it as a massive positive.
It benefits every one. More healers and tanks for dungeons. More enjoyment for those roles when levelling etc

Same account as in WoW account or Battlenet account? If you have 2 WoW subscriptions for 2 different WoW acocounts on the same Battlenet Account, are you able to send mail instantly between chars on those 2 WoW accounts?
Stop changing classic ffs. You’re an awful dev team that can’t produce anything that feels “Vanilla” every change you’ve made has strayed further from the whole notion of “Classic” Just give us 2019 classic and keep your hands off it. If you want no debuff limit and duel spec play Cata ffs.
