I like WoW Classic so much, but i like new retail models and textures too. So, can Blizzard make an optional patch, which allows to switch on new models and textures from retail version? I know, that’s wow classic 1.13 based on new wow client, so i think it’s possible. If someone don’t want this, he can still play with old classic models. I want to see how classic wow will be with classic mechanics but with new modern look. For example we already have Cataclysm water in classic.

I would like it too, but I don’t think it’ll ever happen, since Blizzard disabled old models in retail due to them not supporting new rigging. The new models have completely new rigging/animations, and won’t translate to classic due to some spells and abilities not existing.
I doubt Blizzard will want to invest any kind of time into implement new models into classic.

Yes, new abilities animation will not work, because retail and classic have different battle mechanics.

Not exactly, the new animations require a more complex rigging than the old models have but nothing stops the new models from working with the old animations, they did so throughout WoD with no problems.
I agree. It’s really petty to cry about such a thing when it doesn’t even have to affect you. There is no good reason why this can’t be in the game. Optional and doesn’t affect anyone else’s gameplay. Support.

I hope so, They could easily bring wod models which used the old animation and everything would work quite well as AN OPTIONAL TOGGLE! Its funny people saying it will ruin their classic experience while the same “classic” experience is night and day difference compared to the original phase 1.
Currently, this old UD model gives me no nostalgia at all, prefer to use new one, theme up! Optional turning it off and on won’t hurt at all.
