Just gonna start this here. Who’s excited? If you aren’t then that’s absolutely fine and I hope you get a good classic experience post classic TBC.

with great interest Nicolay!

But on a more serious note. I loved raiding and pally tanking in TBC and had most of my WoW fun in that expansion. Went from completely clueless in Vanilla to much more competent in TBC, so have more fond memories of TBC than any other expansion. And I miss Shattered Halls Dungeon

I am sure there is a Delay on a product for Deleera, yes thats the time machine for her.

The only reason I’ve come back to Classic is to level classes in preparation for TBC.
Planning on maining a shadow priest, a rogue and a warlock.
It’s going to feel good to play a version of shadow that’s actually usable outside of PvP.

Honestly can’t wait. How do you guys think they will handle the transition?

Copy or transfer chars?

To a new TBC server or to classic servers?

Or start completely fresh? level 1 or 58?

My perfect world would be a continuation of the current server into TBC.
I really don’t wanna lose any progress on my char.

Best case scenario would be a character copy with them converting the dead servers into TBC servers.
A fresh start from 58 would be interesting to see, although the downside is that Hellfire Peninsula would be packed and borderline unplayable even with sharding for a while, but with people starting from 60 the crowd will probably filter through much faster.

I’m excited, assuming Blizz doesn’t mess this up.

It’s no secret TBC would need to be perma-sharded or layered, because Hellfire Peninsula at launch will be even worse of a ****show than the AQ gates opening.

Also, it’s no secret there would need to be a way of continuing on the existing Classic chars, but also a way of preserving the existing Classic servers if someone wants to stay on Classic forever.

Only time will tell.

I hope they straight up copies the entire servers. Same names with a (tbc) on the new ones. That way your classic characters stay intact, and you get to keep your characters names into tbc.

As expressed in the hundreds of other threads on the subject - I’ve no interest in TBC. Main reason is TBC exists right now in almost exactly the same state…bar a few quests they changed status from elite to solo (aka Durn, Boglash etc).

Yes I know classes have changed and talents yada yada - but the content is exactly the same as what you can get right now. This is something you couldn’t get (through Blizz) with Classic as they’d overwritten it with Cata.

How much do you want your Draenei shaman?

Since I first learnt of WoW Classic!

I agree with some of the posters here that Hellfire will be awful without some form of population management, sadly its just going to be required.

TBC H Y P E

Seriously, I’m enjoying Classic, but I’m almost confident I will enjoy TBC more. No worldbuff nonsense. More engaging raids (will probably still be faceroll, but more interesting mechanics). Arenas.

I will miss quest chains like T0.5 and Scepter chain though. Will miss BG premade community. And will be nostalgic about phase 2 lol.

Not realy exited… Because i stil would love to enjoy classic for a minimum of 6months more…
But i do love the prospect of contineu the journy all the way to wotlk again… With al pro and cons every xpack brings.
For me its just playing it again… Fun after 10years no wow enjoyment.

I have 2 main concerns right now. Three really but I suppose “will there be TBC?” is a foregone conclusion. I hope.
The biggest one is proper phasing of content. Sardoc mentioned it in another thread, but I thought about this before as well. I believe TBC released with all T4, T5 and Mount Hyjal of T6 already accessible. That would make for a terrible PvE experience with all the info and skills we have now. Staggered unlocking, first of Karazhan, Magtheridon and Gruul, then SSC and TK, then Hyjal and Black Temple (and ZA stuck somewhere in here, maybe even as separate phase) and finally Sunwell would make for a much more balanced and enjoyable PvE experience.
Second is of course sharding/layering of Hellfire. I was never a vocal opponent of layering, I understand why it was (and will be) necessary and in fact I think it’s one of the few good solutions, and actions in general that Blizzard took in regards to Classic. Yeah it sucks, but all the alternatives are even worse! You want 10k people plus tourists stuck in perpetual lag on the stairs of the Dark Portal, hoping they can navigate their way to The Ramparts with a 15min ping? It would totally ruin the experience.

Yes, that’s correct, it shipped with all these raids. They were locked behind attunements, some perfectly reasonable, others completely ridiculous (e.g. Hyjal - you needed vials from Kael and Vashj, but they’d only drop 4 at a time, rather than for the whole raid).

Having experienced Classic, I know for a fact even the nonsense 4 vial limitation wouldn’t delay the no-lives for long. There’s absolutely no need for content rush like that.

I’m very excited, cannot wait to start fresh with a draenei or blood elf.
In fact, I couldn’t wait so I have joined the flamelash reroll project… so hopefully we will build a cool community on Flamelash until TBC is released!

I agree. They should just let us have kara for a few months and then release SSC and TK, ZA in between and then hyjal and BT before finally giving us Sunwell. Also not as fast as now in Classic, min 4-5 months in between patch phases.

Unfortunately that’s a big “if”.
