I have returned after a 3 year gap.
So far, the game seems a lot more technical than I remember. I knew I’d have to relearn spells and rotations, but tbh, this seems a lot more like a 3rd line technical support simulator.
I’m downloading at 4b/s. I didn’t know that it went lower than kb/s.
Tried that and now I’m stuck on “Waiting…” Instead of “Initializing”. Guess no WoW for me tonight.
I logged out of the launcher and logged back in to the Americas Region. It has not improved my download speed at all.
Edit: I turned on my VPN and connected to The Netherlands, I’m getting 5x - 10x the speeds I was without my VPN, so that may be worth a shot. It’s still not great, but I’ll take any improvement.
Changed the region in the battle.net client and no changes. Only avaiable download in EU. I did it by relogin, how do you do it (step by step) as the blue suggested?
This is not downloading, only initializing.
well thanks blizz for ruining my evening and many others! so glad i brought the exp last night so i could play the new class tonight.
It would be nice for blizz to invest some money into new servers, and stop using the potatoes dipped in salt water instead.
blizz who poured lemonade on our servers?
Has anyone actually found a fix for this yet? Another release totally messed up by Blizzard, should we even be surprised anymore?

Can’t launch game so I try to repair and know I’m stuck in a Repair-loop too.
I give up, thx blizz for waste of 3 hours just sit at PC and watching your forum and initializing. I am so glad for paying DF earlier to play it today as you have everywhere on social media etc. Amazing how to ruin day for many players which are playing your games. This is not crying or blame. Just wanna say that issue like this should be prevented after many cases in the past.
I need to reinstall Battle.net app, but instalation proess stuck on “Updating Battle.net”.
I can’t play any game from Blizzard now. Great. Indie company…

clearing battle.net cache did not solve issue
switching region to the americas or any other did not work
think its gonna be a sit tight and see how long we can stay awake kind of night 
I have uninstalled Batlle,net and re-downloaded, it is now stuck installing Battle,net 0%
Same issue. Tried all possible tricks apart from uninstalling the whole game, not masochist enough to re download 70G+.
It has been 2h, now the download finally starts at a crazy low rate. I’m amazed at the situation though, that many years of experience, how come the last 6 months have been full of release issues, in-game laggs etc… ?

Sounds good, doesn’t work. 
In my case, it just went slow. Eventually, the Battle.net app is installed.
Installing the game, however, is another story.
I can feel how “Good” the launch day will go…… Have the same issue, Feels so dissapointing, after long time away from this game, to come back, pay money for new expension and have no way to play this game …. meh
