WoW download stuck on "initializing"

Glad I am not the only one -

Sitting in the initializing stage for 3hrs now and nothing.
Same problem pre-patch as always - get it sorted Blizz.

Easy fix … Just roll the servers back 24 hrs and we try again tomorrow ?

Trying to fix it yourself would probably make things even worse. There are network errors in Agent’s logs - their hosts are dead most of the time, but are trying to wake up from time to time. Worst thing is that many users are following some advises to delete WoW completely and download all 80 gigs from scratch. We just create an even bigger DDoS attack on Blizzard.

I hopped over to the Asia servers and nothing.
Cleared cache
tried America
tried vpn
tried uninstall
nothing
5 hrs so far

I just left the launcher open and it magically started downloading like 45 mins later after being stuck for so long at 0% and having tried a lot of suggestions to fix it… gotta wait it out sounds like the thing to go for ;/

Initially stuck on “initializing”, then uninstalled Battle.net, tried to reinstall and since then either stuck on “Updating battle.net” or at 0% when trying to install… Tried all steps I found anywhere on the internet, nothing fixed it. Glad my subscription runs out soon…

Same issue. Tried every suggestion on EVERY forum but no succes. Looking forward to that one blue post that saves the day…

Same problem here… deleted Cache, WTF, restart pc… I dont know what happend, but this is what we paid??? … Really annoying Blizzard!

Haha, not working. Changed region, deleted cache and nothing changed…My colleage’s machine everything is ok, but on my pc…same here. :sleepy:

As dragonflight has’nt launched yet not out till the 28th, i would’nt think so

Update is finally downloaded, pressing play doesnt launch the game.
The process starts somewhere but WoW doesnt open.

Amazing work Blizzard!!

Where’s Chromie when you need her?

Hi all just tried an American VPN via Proton VPN (free) and i’ve downloaded the update in about 8 - 10 minutes max - was previously waiting 3 hours on UK wifi without

Edit: funny as I swapped back to EU wifi after and it is downloading extremely slowly on an additional update, although letting me play. VPN was faster than my own UK reception and we have very fast wifi in my house. Seems EU servers need an upgrade!!
